Hi Corin/​Scott B. There is certainly a lot of difference in the lawn the last 10 days. I appreciate someone taking Silverwood Landscape’s diagnosis and recommendation seriously. Corner sprinklers were installed and there is actually turf replacement to cover up the dead spots that have been there for over 15 months. I guess we can tell Sharon OConnell at Regent that I don’t have summer grass afterall. I hope the grass will continue to fill in and with a few cuts it will look like my neighbor’s at 601. Please ask your workers to handwater the replacement turf whenever they are around as it seems to be drying out just a bit. And keep an eye on the dandelions before they take over. Thank you and I will follow up for another few weeks and hopefully the problem is finally resolved. I am attaching 3 new photos.

Bemus Landscape services my community for our HOA. They have mangled the plants on my property, not the HOA property, several times. Every time they claimed it was community property and they were just trimming and maintaining the plants. This company has no knowledge of plant species or how different plant species are to be maintained. They hire inexperienced people and do not train them. The supervisors should know not to take nesting birds per federal law, but after talking to the supervisor that oversaw (he said he did at first, but admitted he wasn’t there after I mentioned the birds) the recent butchering of my front yard landscaping, it is clear that they are unaware of standard practices in their own industry. This company killed, and tried to hide, an active nest of warbling vireos in my front yard. This is a Federal Felony offense, and has been for nearly 100 years. Every decent contractor knows this.
My HOA also asked Bemus to replace much of the grass common area with drought tolerant landscape. I am all for this, however, Bemus does not know how to do this kind of work. They replaced all of the sprinkler heads with low-​flow devices (good), but they failed to recompact the soil they displace, causing ponding against my exterior walls. They then planted plants that were near death, and failed to water them, so that now many of them have died. They mulched and placed rocks over area drains and sprinklers, causing drain blockage, and sprinkler head that can’t pop up. The mulch they used is laced with so much trash (plastic bag shreds, a surgical mask, and other items), that it looks like someone deliberately threw trash on the ground.
FYI, I work in land development and building as both a project manager and an architect. I know how a reputable landscape company works. Bemus is one company that the industry knows is always the lowest bidder, but never the lowest responsible bidder. I will never ask for a bid from this company, nor should you.
