I have been working with Dr O’hara, Dr Dietrich’s associate for the past month regarding severe lameness issues with my gelding. Prior to Dr O’Hara and Dietrich, I had my horse seen by two well known vets– one missed the issue all together and the second, who did catch one of three issues, was eager to operate (not an option as nerve block did not make him sound and lameness shifted to the other leg).
Dr O’Hara was the primary, but worked closely with Dr Dietrich on diagnosing and recommending my options for treatment. While the two prior vets gave me much grief for getting a second and third opinion (thank goodness I did), Ohara and Dietrich were supportive of such and urged to do whatever I needed to feel comfortable with a treatment option. I spoke to the vets at UCDavis, who advised the exact options as Dietrich and Ohara, so I moved forward with their suggestions.
They have been responsive and thorough in getting back to me by phone and email. I had A LOT of questions for them, many of which were repetitive, but they were patient with me and if anything over provided information so I knew all pros, cons, and pricing on the choices at hand.
I am thrilled with their professionalism, honesty, and directness. Their «bedside manner» with my gelding was also excellent.

Dr. Dietrich did a pre-​purchase exam for me today, and I could not have been more pleased with the whole experience. I was looking to purchase a horse that would be my first horse, and she was extremely straight forward with me, let me know exactly what her concerns were with the horse and offered her insight on if she would purchase the horse or not. I have ultimately decided against purchasing the horse given the insight and information that Dr. Dietrich and her assistant were able to offer me. Finding these issues now has allowed me to make a fully educated decision about my potential new family member, and has saved me a good deal of future heartache and grief.

Kristen has been my equine vet for going on almost 10 years. From pre-​purchase to annual shots she has always been informative, professional and patient with my questions. I met Kristen while boarding at an east bay facility where she was the barn vet. When I moved on to my own ranch and barn, there was never any doubt in my mind who would be my vet for my four horses. Bottom line-​if you want an equine vet who REALLY cares, knows what they are doing and doesn’t put you thru unnecessary treatments, then Dr. Kristen Dietrich is your vet.

I have been in the horse business for over 30 years. I have taught trained rescued and showed during that time. I have owned as many as 14 horses at one time. Kristen is an excellent knowledgeable vet and I wouldn’t use anyone else for lameness problems. I only wish she was closer to me so I could use her for everything!

Kristin Dietrich has been my horses vet for a few years now but just recently I got real working knowledge of how good she was. My horse was lame and there was no swelling or any signs of where it was coming from. She brought her portable x-​ray machine out to the ranch and was able to find a very small hairline fracture in his knee. After following her instructions of a couple months of stall rest and bring him back slowly, my old guy is as good as new. I highly recommend her!

Kristin did a pre-​purchase vet check for us on a horse we were looking at in the East Bay. Not only was she willing to meet us over the bridge, but her easy going demeanor, very thorough exam of an older horse that had some real potential issues was fantastic. I felt she gave us a very honest assessment and most of all listened to what we were looking for in a new horse and helped us to understand the vet evaluation based on our family needs. We ended up buying the horse with her clearance that he’d likely fit our needs and indeed he has and he’s perfect. She gave us the confidence to move forward knowing what we were getting into and we’ve added a great new member to our family because of it.
