Shelby’s Garden

Love this place! This store is like a hidden treasure, there are so many neat, one of a kind gifts. They carry trinkets, shabby chic items, jewelry, baby items and so much more. The owner, Denise is so creative and is always changing the store around and decorating for every season. The inventory is always changing, so it makes it fun to go and see what’s new.

What a fabulous store! Perfect place for gifts and pretty jewelry. The lady who owns /​manages Shelby’s Garden is lovely — she is helpful and always give us a warm welcome. My daughters also attended craft workshops here and enjoyed making fairy houses very much. Go take a look at the gorgeous window displays and I bet you end up exploring the treasures inside the store too!

This is the cutest, most unique boutique filled with trinkets, antiques, home décor, vintage/​shabby chi items from home décor to clothing and jewelry. They have bath and body, candles, kitchen things… It’s one of my most favorite shops. The owner, Denise, is lovely. My friend I were chatting with her as we perused through her shop.
I would recommend coming here for gifts, baby shower gifts, wedding gifts, adding a very cute touch to your home, nursery, etc. or just to treat yourself to some self-​indulgent items. It’s just a beautiful place to be and there are some things here you won’t find elsewhere.

OMG I loved this place! Yes, it is a boutique with its pricier boutique prices, but such cute stuff! I really wanted to buy her lotion, I wish I wrote down the name, but I am stocked on bath and body works for a good 3 years lol. When I am low on lotion I will come here then go to Laurell Antiques! The lady was so nice too!

Denise has incorporated a little of everything into Shelby’s Garden. From her amazing window displays to her desire to helping her customer find and sweetly wrap the perfect little gift… this store is absolutely a must to visit. She’s engaging with kids, respectful of shoppers browsing and just a joy to chat with about her one of a kind finds and creations. I absolutely love this store and it’s my new favorite boutique! Only thing I could say that needs improvement is to have someone say HELLO when I walk in, acknowledging that I exist!
They carry lots of different items such as jewelry to apparell to home décor — all very feminine. I love the scarfs they carry and the unique bracelets. Right now what I have seen as a common theme is the sideways cross which I really like.
Also bought a jam flavor I have never heard of for my stepdad — Jalapeño pepper jelly! Some things are priced correctly while others I felt could be a little steep. The store is decorated very nicely with different themes being displayed in different areas (for example Christmas at one table, little girl gifts at another, etc).Their backroom feels claustrophobic in my opinion — Lots of stuff and very little room, including a dressing room in the corner.
Lots of lovely things to look at. I could spend hours in here browsing. I love to buy gifts for my girlfriends here and I am always tempted to keep it! Very cute selection for young women and lots to choose from. You should also be aware that they only offer store credit for returns. This is not a problem for me, for I always find myself coming back :-)

great little shoppe in downtown san carlos. the storefront is on the smaller side, but they sure do pack a lot of cute things in here!
i really like coming in here to shop for anything girly and feminine. they have natural hand creams, female clothes, greeting cards, all natural bath products, and decorations for any season and occasion. they also have some stuffed toys for children. chalk paint is one of their specialty items, so come check this out if you are the artistic type.
this really is the cutest store ever. if you’re a girly-​girl, you will feel right at home here.

I have worked on laurel street for 10 years and only JUST discovered this shop! Although their window décor is very pleasing and beautiful, i never really had a reason to go in. There are lots of smalls for gifts. It wasnt until i was asking around for silk ribbon, which is impossible to find in person, i was told to look at shelbys garden, and WOW they have the best ribbon section! GORGEOUS hand dyed silks and low prices, and lots of other choices too. The lady behind the counter is always so sweet and patient when i walk up with 10 different spools and ask for different yardage of each.

This boutique store is so cool! I have been in a handful of times and it’s not even that I am looking for things to buy. I’ve bought a necklace as a gift once, but I just love to LOOK at things! They way the store is set up is eye-​catching artistic, and whimsical. It’s like you take a scrapbook page and turned it into a store. They always have seasonal items and lots of girly items, like fancy lotions and «princess» and «queen» products. If you are ever walking in downtown San Carlos, be sure to stop by and take a little time to look around. The store isn’t big but there is something in every nook and cranny.

They have a lot of unique gifts, stuff that you don’t generally see at the mall.
What made me love it even more is that its super cozy and they gift wrap the gift for you. :) It’s impossible not to love Shelby’s Garden.

I love this shop. It has everything I love and it’s a perfect place to go to get ideas for craft projects. There are some good deals every once in awhile, too. The customer service varies from time to time. I’ve noticed that it is difficult to communicate with the salesperson when another customer is there making a big purchase. At those times, I generally just walk out or try and squeeze past. The last time I was there (a few days ago), I was looking for numerous birthday gifts for friends; the salesperson was exceptionally helpful and friendly and was sure to greet me when I walked in. I do have to say that her friendliness and willingness to help me find gifts helped prompt me to make several purchases that morning. The girl working the time before that… not so much…

The best place to shop for girly girls. They have the most unique gifts, you won’t find anywhere else. I just bought a bachelorette tiara for my girlfriend and I can’t wait to see her open it. I also picked up a bunch of adorable greeting cards and I look forward to the occasions when I will need to use them.

This place is just geat! Have been coming here for years. Denise, the owner is just a doll, so talented and helpful.
This place has the most neatest things especially for every holiday. I just love coming here. It has so many things for the size of the store. It’s fun looking around and hard to leave out without purchasing anything.

I love this shop! The window displays are the best, I’ve been coming for years. The owner is so nice and extremely creative. You can always find a great gift item that you wouldn’t find anywhere else. Their selection of ribbons & trims are wonderful. Today, I was working on a sewing project and ran out of a ribbon I had bought here. I called the store to see if they had more of the ribbon & they did but they were closing in 15 minutes. The clerk (I wish I had gotten her name) said that if I lived close she would wait for me to get there! It was so nice of her, you don’t usually get that kind of customer service anymore.

Shelby’s Garden is such an adorable boutique. The window displays are always so much fun to look at. The selection is unbelievable and they always have fabulous decorations for every holiday. I’ve bought gifts for baby showers, birthdays, Christmas. And their cards are to die for! Everyone working there is super friendly and sweet. The owner is obviously very creative and up to date on trends. I love coming in here!

Denise, the shop’s owner, is a very talented designer and florist! She did the flowers and décor for my 2009 wedding at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay. She has excellent taste and is resourceful, reliable and knows how to work the most out of a budget. Her store is adorable as well! Lots of fun goodies.

This place looked creative from the outside but need to revisit again once the store opens. It closes early at 6pm on a weekday!

We stopped in here after having some coffee at SB. It’s a neat little place with lots of goodies.
As you walk in you’ll notice a lawn leading to the doorway. That was pretty cool.
At the very back there was a display of teaparty items — cucumber sandwiches, cookies, etc. I was unsure if we were allowed to try the food, but it sure looks tasty.
I’d come back here if I was looking for a neat gift for someone… but today was just a window shopping day for me.

This little store is so cute. If you’re looking for a perfect gift this is the place to go. The staff is really sweet and helpful is anything you need to find.
I rented a «Shower Party» stand to stick in my lawn for a bridal shower I threw for my friend. It gave the perfect little touch when people walked up the steps to the party.
