R & R Raingutters

Mark and crew used excellent materials and practices. A minor follow up call was handled gracefully.

I am posting a review not because I received any type of service from this company, but because I had a very bad experience with one of their employees. I am a resident of Los Angeles county, and am only in the Palo Alto area as my grandson has an unfortunate illness which resulted in his transport here to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. I was in our car with my spouse and our own young son when we were nearly ran off the road close by the hospital. When I saw the vehicle that was responsible for this, I immediately took a photo, and yes, it was bearing the name of this company: a white truck with the license plate 95852R1. The driver of this truck repeatedly cut us off and tried to prevent us from moving into certain lanes. At one point, he was directing us to pull over to the side of the road. He nearly caused an accident, almost rear ended us, and scared my ten-​year-​old to tears, which is so unlike him. Finally, when the driver noticed that we were taking photos, he backed off, thankfully.
Now, I cannot say a thing about the quality of work that this company provides, but just knowing that they have such people working for them makes me NEVER want to find out. Not only did this person act foolishly and recklessly, but did so in the COMPANY CAR!!! Obviously, he has no respect for others, nor the reputation of his employer. What a shame. I would seriously think twice, no, TEN times before choosing to do any kind of business with these people. Please be forewarned. I have attempted to provide ZERO stars for this review, but unfortunately, this app does not allow it.

They showed up on time and completed the work efficiently.
The work was high quality.
The price was more than fair for the work completed.
Exactly what you hope for in a vendor, but rarely get.

We needed a custom chimney for our range that would attach to the existing hood and extend all the way up to the ceiling. This area is in the center of our kitchen. Ron came out and measured the space and was able to use stainless steel to where even the grain of the steel matched. His piece looks like it was part of the original hood and is definitely the focal point of our kitchen. I was impressed by the detail in the work and the timeliness of the completion.

Best price, fast appointment, flexible when I changed my mind about the specifics of the job.

We recently remodeled the whole exterior of our home. We called R&R Raingutters to come out and give us an estimate. I was concerned about how some downspouts would look at the front of our house and Ron gave us some great suggestions. After having two other companies come out we felt that R&R was the company that could handle the job. The crew did a wonderful job. The house looks great. We also had them fabricate and install a new chimney cap. It’s a work of art. Looks fantastic! Our neighbors are jealous.

Think twice before you consider R&R Raingutters! My unfortunate experience with them has been nothing short of an on going nightmare because of their unethical (do not trust them for you more than likely will come to regret it), illegal (I found out the hard way), dubious (cross reference EVERYTHING R&R Raingutters tells you) and shoddy work, which starts from the owner, Ron, on down to his workers. DO NOT, NOT trust, Ron, the owner. I did and I have had nothing but problems with the work his company did and with Ron’s personal credibility, which speaks volumes about his company.
As with other reviews posted here, R&R knowingly and deliberately installed damaged gutters and downspouts, damaged my home in the process of installing the gutters and downspouts, abandoned my job unfinished then sent me a bill for a completed job, did a terrible job welding the seams on the gutters (this has been confirmed by more than one other company), and lied, lied, lied, lied, lied amount a number of material legal facts/​issues regarding my job.
R&R Raingutters does not deserve even one star, but it is my understanding that I have to minimally put that much. It sounds as if the review by Jonathan M., 3÷13÷2012, echos my experience with R&R. You have to question how many others have had a similar experience and just have not taken/​had the time to write a review?
Please, if you have used R&R, or do hire them, have another company, either roofing company or gutter company come out to your home to look at the work R&R did. Based on the shoddy work R&R gave me, I am certain that you will be shocked at what you will be told about the quality of work you in reality ended up getting from R&R, contrary to what they led you to believe they gave you. Just ask another company to come out, what have you got to lose, and ask them about the workmanship in the welding, whether or not the gutter is as level as it should be, the angle of the screws used, the distance between the screws used, the type of screws used, the distance between the clips that go inside the gutter, the angle of the clips (big problem issue), if the screw heads should have been calked over by R&R, if the seal that water proofs the metal edge of your roof (gravel stop) to your house was broken when R&R had to lift the it away from the house (it is always broken) so that they could install the new gutter (main reason you will have water problems in the future), have R&R run water in the new gutter to be certain the water is moving as it should (you do not want standing water), check the back side of the gutter to be sure that you have the full height of the gutter on the backside of the gutter as well, you should have, make certain that R&R seals all the vertical seams where the gutter over laps itself (anther major area for potential water leaks).
Most importantly, get all of these details in writing. I did not because I trusted R&R, Ron the owner, specifically, and the first rains we had after R&R installed the gutters, I had thousands of dollars in damage to my home.
Everything I stated above for a homeowner to look out for, I learned from other gutters companies and roofers after the fact… after I hired R&R and they installed their gutter and downspouts. Everything I mention for a home owner to look out for, all contributed to water leaks I had with the first rains.

R&R was highly recommended to my general contractor, and basically did everything wrong. So, after the rain gutters were done 2 times and the sheet metal work was redone FOUR times it all came out fine. What a hassle. Sorry for the negative review, but as a designer I work on tons of structures with many general contractors and sub contractors, and every once in awhile someone is great, and someone is less than mediocre stand out in my mind. These guys are sadly not one of the great ones.

Really doesn’t get any better than this! I called up R&R on President’s Day expecting to get voicemail, but instead spoke to Ron who said he could come out within 2 hours and give us a quote. Then, he proceeded to get his men over to do the work the same day! They did a fabulous job for a very reasonable price. Fantastic customer service. Would highly recommend.

another wonderful recommendation for ron and team. they recently completed a big job for our family and did so professionally, on time and on budget to the estimate. the house looks great and we are so pleased with how nice everyone was and what a great job they did.

We needed new gutters and R & R was recommended to us among others. We received quotes from several companies but decided upon R & R for several reasons. I was impressed with Ron who came out to survey our needs. He told us that our downspouts were just fine and did not need to be replaced, where the other companies told us we had to replace them as well. We decided upon a color from samples, but just make sure we would be happy, he dropped off an actual piece of the gutter so we would be sure with the match. When the workmen came they were neat and efficient. The job was done professionally and in the time they had estimated. At the end they also made sure there were no nails or debris left. All of this and a reasonable price made our experience pleasant. They also have a service to come back and «blow-​out» the gutters if you want them to.

We needed new gutters to replace our seamed steel gutters of 25 years. Our contractor and friend, Al Landi, recommended high R&R Raingutters with whom he’d worked many times. The quote for aluminum seamless gutters came after a visit to our home. It was reasonable and we proceeded. They did a first class job and we couldn’t be more pleased. These guys are real pros who are very customer oriented. Highly recommended!

When I needed gutter work done last winter, I called 3 different companies to give me a bid. Since we did not know much about the gutter system, the Office Manager took some time to explain to us and Ron, the owner provided us with different gutter choices to select. They also carry different gutter guard systems which helped save us time to shop around. Their price was pretty competitive. The two guys who came were polite and efficiently. They cleaned up every day before they left. They completed the work within 2 days as promised. We highly recommend R&R Raingutters.

I just had my house painted and when it was all done we noticed that there was a section of our gutter that was dented. Our painter Alberto Pulido suggested we call R&R. They were at our house within an hour and the next day we were all fixed up and ready for the painter to finish. R&R exceeded my expectations, They did an excellent job and were very reasonably priced.

I was referred to R&R from our Roofers. We set up a time to take a look at the work and the guy who came out was very friendly and knowledgeable.
I got a quote and approved the work.
The first gutter they installed was all dented up but they replaced it the next day. Everything else went smoothly until I got the invoice. It was 270.00 more than I was quoted.
The girl from the office called me and explained that she made a mistake on the quote and forgot to add 3 downspouts at 90.00 each. She fully admitted her mistake and I hesitantly agreed to pay the extra amount. I was a particularly upset because one of the 3 downspouts was all of 3′ long.
Probably will not recommend them to friends.

R & R did a fantastic job for us. They delivered the material early so that it could be painted, they did the installation as soon as they possibly could (which happened to be Christmas Eve day!) and it all looks and works wonderfully. I would recommend this company to anyone, as the owner was so responsive, and did such a great job.
I wrote the above review in 2009 — just want to follow up now (Oct. ’11) and say my rain gutters and downspouts still work and look great!
