I had kung pao chicken, basil beef, and Chow mein and I am not too impresses. I had asked them to make it very spicy, but all three were pretty much bland, especially the noodles. I had to add salt and crushed pepper to all three to make it edible.

Placed an Eat 24 order at 5 for a 7 o clock delivery. 7:30 rolls around and no food here yet! I called the restaurant and they kept saying«it’s on it’s way it’s on it’s way». Umm, but you didn’t even get my address? How do you know it’s on it’s way? «It’s so busy it’s on it’s way». Well okay then. 8:00 o clock rolls around and I get a call from the driver that he’s outside. I stand outside my house and walk around my block and he’s still not there. He doesn’t speak that much English so it was really hard explaining where to go. Luckily I found him before he froze outside. I don’t know if it was clear miscommunication but he kept asking me if I wanted him to leave the food outside? No lol. Food is finally here! Yessssss! But no condiments or chop sticks that were requested. Also, their extra spicy was more sweet than spicy. The food wasn’t bad, it was okay. But I expect more especially when I place my order 2 hours in advance. One hour late is not acceptable. Eat 24 was apologetic of the whole situation which was nice but they did say the restaurant did not want to apologize or do anything about it.

First time ordering from this place and it was ok. I ordered for delivery and I wasn’t so pleased with the delivery man. He really hesitated to give me my change back and I didn’t like that. I was going to tip him either way but just not everything he was going to take.

Kung pao shrimp was tasty. that was about it. Wasn’t feeling well so I was really looking forward to a great bowl of Phở. What I got was the most salty cheaply made excuse for phở I’ve ever tasted. Literally only had chicken and noodles in it. no veggies, no green onion, and I was given some basil in a different container. It was so incredibly salty after about 5 bites I couldn’t even eat anymore. Waste of $$

I am so sorry to say that the food we ordered was terrible! Seasame chicken was dry and sso hard you needed a knife to cut it up. Mongolian Beef had no flavor and was chewy. Pineapple duck was just so, so. We will never order from this place again!

Forks at all the table settings(have to ask for chopsticks). Never a good sign. Asked for actual Cantonese style(Note the restaraunt name). No dice. Menu has phở, korean, etc. This place is an unfocused disaster. Just cross the street to Panda.

Ordered delivery & from this place for the first time last night, & I definitely just found my new Chinese take out spot!!! I’ve eaten a lot of Chinese restaurants & let me start off by saying that their food is not greasy compared to the ones I’ve eaten at. I ordered the combo fried rice which was definitely the topping on the sundae for me. The rice had a dry texture which I love in fried rice, it also has beef, chicken & shrimp. & the portions are large enough to feed a family of 3!!! I love that! The chow mein was alright, nothing too memorable. The calamari was delicious & plentiful. The orange chicken I read everyone loved, but it tasted a little dry to me :( However I’m giving this place 4 stars mainly because of the combo rice, portion & the price! Love love love it!

New Canton is unique in that it serves both«americanized chinese» food, but also serves«real» authentic cantonese food. The folks there are legit old-school chinese chefs who can cook different styles of chinese food based on the needs of each table. The waiters there are also quite talkative and try to get to know the customers. When I ate there, the waiter seemed to know all the other tables around me on a first-name basis and was happy to chat. I tried the fried rice, and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was cooked with a really authentic flavor – the rice is dry(which is good for fried rice), served in a metal pot that is still hot(another plus) with just the right amount of shrimp and egg pieces. The portions are huge too! I took some of it home afterwards – basically one item lasted me 2 meals. Overall, a good place to stop by for chinese food!

I came here on Thursday during my lunch break and ordered a wonton noodle. The won ton was very good and the meat was fresh. I would definitely go back.

I love their eggplant basil chicken dish. This place is a good place to grab some tasty Chinese food in a convenient location and fairly priced.

Review of my food order: Ordered the Thai chow fun(basil beef and shrimp). It came in a large portion but it was mostly chow fun poorly sautéed together. It didn’t have much of a basil flavor or much of any flavor except soy sauce. The texture was slightly greasy and the meat to chow fun ratio was poor– hardly any shrimp… I think 2? After every bite your lips are smeared with grease :/ They have increased multiple dish prices for a dollar more without improving the food itself. Establishment: Place looks renovated and split by a center entrance to an apartment complex. The actual door is on the right. Overall with only one dish … This place is forgettable … There’s too many other Chinese restaurants around the area for me to try this place again

We always order for pick up. The food here has consistently been getting worse. They have a large selection and maybe that’s the problem. They don’t specialize in many of their dishes. All their Vietnamese dishes are disgusting. I ordered the Vietnamese spring rolls and it was all burnt. The phở was less tasty than the instant noodles. One word of advice: don’t order any dishes that isn’t a typical Chinese dish. We won’t be ordering from here anymore. Food is inconsistent – might be good sometimes and not others. I’m not a fan of returning my food to the kitchen.

So tonight I tried New Canton for the first time. I placed my modest order at 6:35 pm. At 8:11, I called to inquire when I might be so privileged as to receive my dinner and get on with my evening. The woman who answered said that New Canton is closed for the month of February. Gee, I wish I had known that before I ordered, and before my credit card was charged.

One of my go-to delivery place when I fail to make dinner(or lunch). They are very nice and accommodating. They deliver but that usually takes 45 minutes which can be too long for toddlers to wait. Sometimes, I’d order for dine-in as I’m on my way so the food would be ready when we get there. Their steamed fish over green beans is my favorite. Their phở is not bad for a Chinese-run place — great broth but lacking in the«right kind of meat and veggie» department. Their fried banana can be addicting so eat with cautious.

Everything here is great and seasoned amazingly. Beef chow mein and orange chicken are always great and my favorites. Best Chinese place in the Bay Area that’s not in The actual city of San Francisco. BUT The staff is very slow. It will take a while for you to place your order.

I ordered some takeout from here recently. Honey walnut shrimp, broccoli beef, house fried rice, and the largest wonton soup they had. It shocked me to see the price come out to nearly $ 50(and then I reminded myself that I was in the Bay Area– namely the Peninsula). But it really wasn’t that bad at all. I would recommend this place solely for take out because the restaurant itself is a little on the… not so nice side. Customer service is GREAT, they are friendly and prompt, but the set up in the restaurant itself is strange. The food itself was good, not worth $ 50 and I likely won’t go back… but if I found myself starving and flush with extra cash I might come back here.

I was rolling my Whip Black Beauty back from Half Moon Bay and was rolling thru San Carlos and decided to stop at New Canton for a Bite to eat. I was able to park Black Beauty in front on the street. I rolled into the Horse Shoe shape dining area and was Greeted and Seated. I was presented with a Menu. I perused the Menu and was brought a Glass of Water . When my Waitress returned I ordered the Salt and Pepper Calamari, Seafood Chow Fun and Aspragus Beef. New Canton is a Sparsely decorated restaurant . My Calamari came out first. It was cooked the right was and was not oily. It had a good taste to it. My Seafood Chow fun and Aspragus Beef came out next. Theses really hit the spot . I paid By Discover Card and rolled out.
