I knew exactly what type of car I wanted and spent the day going all over the bay (Hayward, Fremont, San Jose, Santa Clara, San Mateo, etc.) testing the car I wanted at lots that had them.
By the time I got to this establishment, I had a very good idea of what a fair price was.
Some gentleman showed me the car and took me on a test drive but refused to discuss prices or financing options, which baffled me. He kept saying, «only the owners discus money».
After the test drive I said I was interested in discussing purchasing the car in question. I was led into the office and told to wait for Felicia. I could hear her on the phone with a previous customer and it was not a pleasant conversation. She can play hard ball with people who have previously purchased. It’s clearly one of those places where after you buy they don’t care about you.
When she was finally done on the phone (it was a long and heated conversation), she came out scowling until she saw me and then her whole demeanor changed and I got a big smile.
I told her that for the amount of miles on the vehicle and the condition of the body, that it was priced roughly 1500 too much.
What I got back was a nasty, «Well, that’s your opinion isn’t it!»
With that little nastiness I left, went back to Hayward and bought the exact model with 30k less mileage and a better body for 1500 less than what they were charging.
Do not shop at this sleazy place!

I’ve gotta say that this is the way to buy a car. The staff is all very friendly and knowledgeable. This was my first time buying a car and was a little intimidated about the process. Felisha was incredible. She helped me learn what I needed to do, and helped me land a better rate on my financing option. I was completely unprepared to buy a car and she worked with me once we learned that I qualified for financing. I found a 95′ Corvette on the lot that I wanted to buy but couldn’t, due to some California Laws I was not aware of. I made the down payment and she held the car until I got road worthy. Incredible service and expertise. Now I get to drive a Corvette off the lot for my 24^th birthday!!! If you’re looking for a used car, look no further. These guys are top notch!!!
The only problem is that after I drove the car off the lot it wouldn’t start that night. I tried contacting the owners of the dealership and they want me to pay for the tow and all the repairs. I don’t feel valued as a customer and I feel as though I am being avoided. Great experience buying the car, horrible experience from there on out. I feel like I’m stuck with a 3200lbs chunk of fiberglass that won’t move. Now I’m stuck with a car payment as well as repair costs, when all I really wanted was a car to commute to work and school. So far my experience with this car has been a nightmare with no apparent accountability from the dealership. I am super bummed about this.

Still have this car, still love it, and have had minimal repair costs (under $ 400 for the total time, excluding oil /​tires /​etc.) I drove all over the Bay Area for a few years for work and put some serious miles on it. Very satisfied customer.

I am a repeat customer for good reason — Driveline Auto is a family business that cares about their customers. I have sold one car and purchased two cars through them and each purchase has had it’s challenges but Rick made it work for me and I couldn’t be happier with the service I received. When the time comes to sell my current car and buy a new car I will definitely go back.

I bought a nice expedition at a great price, but after 6 months I wanted to sell it. So I decided to sell it through them, we agreed on a price to sell but after looking online they had the price of the car 2 grand over what we agreed. So after the truck sat there for 2 months and two more payments later I had took my truck back and charged me 500 anyways. They are a complete rip off. Don’t do business with these people.

The mechanic is a honest man and does great work. I appreciate his willingness to make sure he does his work with precision and care.

If you’re looking to sell your car, I would highly recommend Driveline Auto. The owners are a darling couple who went out of their way to make my selling experience an excellent one. When I think of car dealers, I normally think of sleaze, (sorry) but this couple are honest, a real class act and a pleasure to do business with.

It’s that annoying time again. The maintenance light comes up on your dashboard and it’s time to take it in.
I had actually purchased my car from driveline and was very pleased with the customer service so I decided to go to driveline for auto repairs as well. My car needed a routine maintenance and they were very professional from the get go. All I needed was an oil change and it was not only very reasonable, but also very quick. Though this wasn’t a very extensive or complex repair, I was extremely satisfied with my experience at driveline. Their technicians seemed very knowledgable and gave me great advice about my car too. I would definitely come back here.
There are many places to get your car fixed around San Carlos but try these guys out next time. You won’t regret it!

Well where to begin? I bought a vehicle from these guys in March after having my vehicle totaled in an accident. I purchased a 2002 Ford Ranger Edge that had 89k miles and seemed to be in perfect order; I was wrong. Mind you my bank has had problems with Driveline and DID NOT WANT to lend me the money to buy from these guys because they are on a watch list from the bank. It has been 4 months and now my cruise control, OD off/​on switch & stereo all do not work. When I purchased the vehicle I asked if there were ANY problems that I should be aware of and they assured me that EVERYTHING was in working order. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt so I took their word in good faith and bought the vehicle. Well I can tell you 2 things; I will never in good faith take a car dealer at their word and second I will never buy a vehicle from these people again. Those that put up good reviews about this place were either real lucky or are friends of the owners that pad Unilocal with bogus reviews either way do yourself a favor and buy somewhere else.

This was the best experience I have ever had in buying a car. Felicia is the best and definately the whole crew went above and beyond in making sure I was happy. If you want to buy a car go to Driveline Auto. You won’t get any bullsh*t and you won’t be dissapointed!

I purchased a used 4Runner this past weekend (2÷15÷14). I was treated with respect and didn’t feel pressured into buying anything. Rick and his wife, Felicia were very kind to me and my family who were with me. All and all, very happy and I love yhis 4Runner.

We have waited over 30 days (as suggested) and still would like to know — Where is the current tag for the car we purchased? When we took off the paper license plate cover which Driveline Auto put on the vehicle — there was an expired year tag on the license plate. We did not receive the current tag from Driveline, nor was it in the glove-​box, nor have we received it from DMV. Where is the 2015 (October) tag?

I recently sold a Smart Car through the consignment program. I personally dealt with Felicia. She was both friendly, helpful and communicative. She helps set a realistic expectation on the selling price based on blue book of course, but also recent comps to show what others sold for in the area. From there we worked together on unique selling points and other elements to convey to potential new owners. From my perspective, everything went as best as possible. Prompt updates. Got my asking price. What I’ll remember most is that Felicia worked on building a friendship which is all too often missing in business today.

WOW WHAT A DEALERSHIP!!!
So I have 2011 dodge challenger I can no longer afford. I could but it left me no money extra and I have a little girl that comes first.
Anyway I see a blue Mini Cooper on the lot and I stopped. The husband and wife team oh so nice in the beginning. I don’t have the best credit so they said we’ll bend the rules for you (after reading reviews I wasn’t the only one) we’ll make an exception. Any way I like car it was $ 7999 nice exterior nice body and 138,000 miles needs new tires. It all sounded ok and I set up deal where my payments would be $ 325 and they could take down payment of $ 1500 out of my account before I could drive. So three days later the first payment of $ 625 was taken out.
I started to think I want to be sure I’m getting a good deal. I started looking at other mini coopers but didn’t run my credit as it seemed arrangement so far was good. Two weeks out I see a Mini Cooper down the street at enterprise. I stopped in and lady greeted me and was really nice and was better to look at I must say. Anyway this Mini was a 2010, with 30,300 miles new tires and great body and came with 2 year warranty and my payments would be the same as driveline $ 325. Hmmmm what should I do? I’m sorry I’m taking the best deal for me and the safety of my little girl. So my problem comes in when I tell miss Felecia. Wow her attitude changed. It’s not about the customer there it’s about how they broke the rules just for me (and everyone else!) and how they missed a sell. Everyone has the right to the best deal. So now I need my $ 625 back and the bullshit begins and ghetto Felecia’s games to prolong what she knows I need because they are but hurt and unprofessional to say the least. Week one she can’t send money because it’s not on her account yet but it’s been 2 ½ weeks now. Week two I get a call on Wednesday that it cleared the day before hmmmm. Felecia agree to credit my account $ 600 because the poor driveline shouldn’t have to pay $ 25. Ok fine $ 600. Week three still no money no credit. Called and left message and no return call back. What a professional business this is. So to this day no money. If I don’t have by Friday I’m going to local news paper, and contact attorney all over $ 600 dollars that is not theirs to keep. Stay away! Far away. GO TO ENTERPRISE THEY HAVE GREAT DEALS AND BETTER PRICING!!!

I recently sold my 2001 BMW 330 CI and was in the market for a jeep wrangler 4 door. Though they did not have any on the lot, Rick, was extremely helpful and offered to search auctions for what I was looking for. I left thinking I’d never hear from him but to my surprise two weeks later Rick called me and said he had found a jeep he thought I’d like. I went back up to the dealership for test drive and feel in love with it. I have to say that this was the best auto buying experience I’ve ever had. Rick and his staff are friendly, respectful and eager to help. I WILL BUY MY NEXT CAR FROM THESE GUYS!!! Thanks Rick!

I was referred to Driveline Auto a few months ago by a previous customer. I thought I would make a visit and talk to them about selling my 2005 Porche Turbo vehicle. After talking with Rick and Felicia, I quickly realized they knew the car business very well and I was in good hands. Sure enough the car was sold for what I wanted and the money is now in my bank account. Everything worked out exactly as they suggested. They are true professionals in the car business.

I would also recommend NOT purchasing a car from Driveline Auto. I purchased a 2002 Ford Taurus in February and have already incurred several thousand dollars in repair costs. I’ve had to have the following replaced in the short amount of time I’ve owned the vehicle: intake manifold gasket, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, expansion tank, thermostat, timing valve cover, and head gaskets.
This place is a typical slimy used car dealership and they will tell you anything you want to hear. Unfortunately, I needed a car pretty badly at the time and it seemed like a reasonable deal. If I could do it over again, I would definitely take my business elsewhere.

I bought a Ford from them 9 month ago. Nice service and nice people. I am looking for selling my car now. They are my first choice.

I purchased a car here a while bag the reason im writing it now is because ive reached my tipping point with this place.
First of all after telling me they had a 130 point inspection or something, I found nails in the tires. Then they said they never let people buy the cars breaks with less than 30 percent of the break left also a lie, i had to replace them. Not only that the check engine light went on a day after i got it and the guy said its a glitch in those cars which is complete bull. So i took it to my mechanic to see what he could see by just taking a look and checking it. He found mud and dirt in both the radiator and oil. So i took it back to the dealership to fix, they said they would do it so i said fine.
Recently my car had started making noise again so i took it in to my mechanic. With further inspection of my car he found my manifold was cracked and rusted out. Also that the radiator and oil had not been cleaned out properly. He said in his 25 years of being a mechanic he had never seen such a thing. he told me i was lucky the engine did not blow up on me.
DON’T COME HERE! IF YOU VALUE YOUR WALLET AND SAFETY!

Well, where to start. I bought a used car from here a few months ago, and I have to say I really regret it.
Problems:
— They show you a blue book value sheet for the car that is for one in «Excellent» condition. The car I had enough minor body and interior damage to definitely not be in this category. I checked up on the blue book value myself and it was about 20% lower than what they told me. And that is assuming the mechanics were in good shape… I later found out that they weren’t.
— The car had a check engine light on the SECOND DAY after I bought it. I took the car to the mechanic that driveline wanted me to send the car to, and they said there were a lot of problems with wiring and the fuel filter etc. I found this very upsetting since the salesperson told me that these same mechanics checked out the cars before they were sold!
— The window on the drivers side door «fell» down into the door on the FOURTH DAY of me owning the car. I really got the impression that for both of these problems, they were aware of it but did band-​aid fixes to mask the problem until they unloaded the car on some sucker (in this case, ME!).
— They offered to give me «the dealer price» if I had the problems fixed at the mechanic that they used. They told me the price was going to be about 1000 dollars but they’d discount it to 650 or something. I never know repair costs for sure, but judging by the work being done, I feel like 650 wasn’t a discount and the 1000 dollar was made up to make me feel better.
— They also offered to pay 60 dollars (two days) for a rental car while by car was in the shop. I was thankful and this was really the only reason I got the repair done by the guys they recommended. So, after I get the rental, the salesperson there (Felicia), made no effort to pay me, and she clearly wasn’t going to unless I brought it up. After I called about it, she sent me a check. However, when the check arrived, it was only for 50 dollars, not the 60 dollars that she told me earlier. At this point I was very tired of driving from Mountain View to Redwood City (I had already had to do so about 10 times during this debacle) so I decided to just cut my losses and cash it anyway.
— When I finally cashed the check, I found out a few days later that they had put a stop payment on it! So now I got hit with a fee from my bank for cashing a stopped check. I’ve called them a few times since I found out about the stopped check and so far they have never answered my calls or returned my messages.
— Earlier on in the process, they screwed up my address when they did my registration, so it took over a month to get my papers. I had to go to the DMV to fix the registration info and then find out I was 2 days away from being late for my renewal.
— Even now, after all the repairs, the car seems OK, but still feels shaky if I go above about 63mph on the expressway. I was told when test driving the car that due to insurance law in California, I couldn’t test drive on the expressway. I had just moved to CA so I wasn’t sure if that was true or not. With all the traffic where I live, I actually didn’t notice this for a while, since usually I can’t drive this fast anyway, but if I had noticed it, I wouldn’t have bought the car.
Upsides:
— Felicia seemed very nice, and was very responsive through the whole process, until she put a stop payment on the check.
The bottom line is that they sold me a garbage car (and they knew it, either that or they lied about having had it inspected previously).
Beware of Driveline Auto, the prices are low for a reason, they are dishonest and really the cars aren’t worth the prices they are charging. They seem to give you a good deal on repairs once you find out what you actually bought, but of course you have to repair it their people. All part of the racket.
