I used to come here quite often but after my experience on the night of Black Friday I will go somewhere else.
Dotty was our cashier and you could see she was becoming upset about something so she flipped her light off while we were checking out and a woman who you could tell had some sort of mental disability came in line right after us. Dotty flipped out going «Oh my god! Don’t you see I am closed?! Fuck! Go somewhere else!» Had I been spoken to that way I’m pretty sure I would’ve made a manager come speak to me ASAP. That is NOT okay to treat customers like that and it is NOT okay to be unprofessional in your work environment and cuss.
Then to top it off, she scanned two items my boyfriend had twice and we didn’t get two of the same item.

my friend needed to find an inexpensive picnic mat/​blanket so i suggested coming here since we were already in san carlos. after a few minutes of scouring the store, she found a $ 1 mat, in christmas colors, to boot! not too bad for dollar tree! while i was waiting, i realized that i was getting pretty thirsty, so i snagged a 1 liter bottle of water for $ 1. whatever works, right? parking is right in front of the store, if you’re lucky enough to get a space, else you can park in the home depot parking lot, which occupies most of the real estate on this block.

Janie is the worse customer service person I have ever seen. Not only do you NOT look presentable and professional how dare you have an attitude like you do with customers in the store. Horrible attitude. I have been coming to different dollar trees for a long time and today was a huge disappointment. What is this world coming to and thank god I only needed 5 small items. You need more employees here to cashier especially after 5 pm. I am a recon and I do call corporate offices!

Worst customer service! I was here on 8÷28÷2015 just picking up some cheap supplies for homeless cats and was the only person in the store. The checkout clerk was very snooty and irritated that she had a customer to checkout since she was stocking the shelves. What’s funny is that she had this attitude while the floor manager was one checkout stand over. Even though this location is newer with a better layout than the location in Belmont, the Belmont location has much friendlier service. I’ll never be back here!

I don’t go to Dollar Tree that much anymore because my heart is with Daiso but I did stop by here the other day and was reminded of how cool a Dollar Tree can be. Everything is $ 1 and some of the stuff is actually name brand while others is a bit more questionable.
They have cheap spices here. Most of the basics (like cayenne pepper) you could probably find here.
They have Renuzit air fresheners here too. I really like those.
The parking lot is super vast (hooray for suburbs) so I probably wouldn’t worry about finding parking here.

Dollar Tree here looks old and small. disappointed didn’t find any chips here. (most be a summer shortage).

This is a great Dollar Tree. I usually go to the Belmont store, because I live there, but I was in the area and I needed some stuff, so I decided to stop by since I was already there.

This dollar store is pretty neat, it’s pretty clean, but not the cleanest. I think it’s just the carpet since it’s pretty old or maybe because I’m comparing it to the new one in redwood city. But other than that, they always have the stuff that I need. And the employees are helpful. I haven’t had food or products from here that were expired so big thumbs up for that!

I always go to the Belmont location but today I decided to try this one out. I read a few Unilocal reviews (looking up the address) and a lot of them said «bad customer service». I went anyway, I don’t care I was just picking up a few things for my mom’s birthday. First, this location is very small, pretty messy and yes the employees are RUDE. Yelling across the store at each other, talking to each other while they are supposed to be ringing people up. Now I’ve been to about 5 locations and the staff is super friendly at the register and its really refreshing. Well, DOROTHY was rude, made me wrap my own glasses with paper towels she just handed to me without any explanation of what I’m supposed to be doing with it. Just a very bad experience overall. If you want more selection and a friendly staff, go down the street to the Belmont location. I’m never coming back here again.

I came to the dollar store to check out what was around since I was at the Home Depot across that way. It was the week before Christmas and I was looking for some goody bags so that we can fill them with candy. They had the bags in stock at the price of one dollar. Just what I was looking for. I’ve also come to the dollar store for party and cleaning supplies. Pricewise you’re not going to get much cheaper for cleaning stuff like Windex and the line of awesome orange cleaner works very well. If you were to try to make these at home with water/​ammonia/​bleach etc even the empty bottles would cost you a dollar. Here you get the cleaner and a bottle for just a dollar. For snacks and drinks this place probably isn’t the best but if you know you’re coming to look for it’s not a bad place to shop.
A lot of the other reviews say the service is bad. When I’m there it’s not that great but it’s a dollar store what do you expect.
The reason the store gets five stars is for people watching. Have you ever seen the memes about the people of Walmart. The store had them in real life. In the checkout line, the couple in front of me weighed approximately around 1000 pounds between the two of them. They brought a half open bag of candy to the front of the store and asked if there was any more since it was the last one left. This require the cashier to call a manager who took his sweet time and check the inventory. The manager found out there was none so the couple asked if they could get a discount on the open bag. The manager stated that the paperwork would take about 15 minutes and wanted to know if they still wanted to do it. They said they would. They then purchased what was around $ 20 worth of junk food. At least they finished up and waited to the side to get their discount of $.50 on an open bag of candy.
It was a pretty epic day in the checkout line. It wasn’t that fast but at least it was entertaining.
Overall come here for certain items such as cleaning supplies, party supplies and wrapping goods. A Dollar for these items is a pretty good price. Just don’t expect the best customer service.

The store is open on Thanksgiving (today) 8am-​4pm and NOTHING is on sale! Such a bummer for the workers.

This is probably one of the smallest dollar stores I’ve ever been to! But also, with that, one of the most packed!
Even though it was super small inside, don’t let that fool you, the shelves still have a lot of stuff. And in some places too much stuff! I was a little on dollar store overload when I went it! I was finding so much stuff that it was getting hard to sift through what was junk and what I went in there for.
The staff are pretty nice but nothing amazing. Overall, an okay dollar store. Has some essentials but maybe not all the cool stuff that you wouldn’t expect to find like at the bigger dollar stores.

I have to disagree with others who felt this store has poor customer service– I had a great experience at the San Carlos Dollar Tree. When I reached the check-​out line I realized I had left my wallet at home. The cashier was very understanding and said she would have the items waiting for me when I came back. As I was pulling out of my parking spot the cashier a ran up to my car waving frantically. I had left my cell phone with my items and she took the time to make sure I didn’t leave without it. Wow! Many thanks to this thoughtful woman! I will definitely be coming back in the future.

Poor service waited in line for 5 minutes while staff are talking and gossiping in the corner great job some people have places to go.

Oh me, oh my! A store where EVERYTHING is $ 1?! Get outta town!
I happily perused the aisles, picked my goods, and spent a grand bank-​breaking total of $ 9 + tax! Here’s what I bought: 2 packs of feminine maxi pads, a pack of Playtex brand tampons, 3 jars of JIFFY CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER (not the travel size, the ACTUAL sized jars), 3 pairs of cute lavender polka dot socks, and 2 rolls of packing tape.
All that for only $ 9 and change! Be still my cheapster heart.
Now their stock is ever-​changing, I’m sure, but when I went in on a July 2014 day there was an abundant supply of Jiffy peanut butter, Playtex brand tampons, and full-​size Kashi cereal boxes! Nothing expired or near expiration! You can also check their website to see possible stock that they may have.

I have never been treated so poorly in a store.
I was standing in line to pay. The person in front
of the line asked to get a helium balloon. The cashier
Walked off with the person to give her the balloon.
After 20 minutes if waiting. The person in front
Of me asked the other cashier name Rose that by now had a 20 person line)
If she knew if are cashier was coming back soon.
Rose was so rude and unapologetic. She told the lady,
Can’t you see she is busy getting the balloons.
Then she went on to tell the her customers we should not
Be complaining. The customer service here is terrible!!!

I like this dollar store everyone is very friendly the products are arranged nicely not a bunch of chaos the lines move fairly smoothly. It’s clean the parking lot is shared with Home Depot but I always seem to find a spot. The staff is very friendly I’ve never come across a mean staff person in the two years I’ve shopped there

Yep, I’m a fan again. I think they ditched the last manager or something because each time I’ve gone in the last couple months the store is so much better. Yeah, the boxes are still everywhere and sometimes it’s hard to get the cart through aisles… but, it’s cleaner, more organized, and the moral of the staff seems better. Huge improvement from my last update.

I always fear for my life when I walk into a Dollar Tree store. Its like a Ross, Marshalls store –messy, disorganized, long lines and cheap prices.
This Dollar Tree location wasn’t bad, the only thing I wasn’t too happy about it was the long line. When I walked in, I really didn’t have anything I needed particularly. I ended up getting this fake leaf stem. Once I head towards the line (like 5 steps) I just realize how unimportant my item was and walked out. I guess you can say, long lines isn’t my thing. Instead, I drove over to Michael’s and paid $ 3.99 w/​no line. LOL
Anyways, would I come back here, sure. When I have no where to go afterwards.
It’s kind of silly if you really think about it. Why is the line so long when everything in the store is basically $.99? It should be faster to ring people up, no? May I suggest, faster cashiers?
Verdict: «Cheap stuff» should be your only reason to want to be here. Customer service is not. Cleanliness is not.
