The home inspection will cover all of the major systems of the house: The foundation and structural system, the exterior walls, doors, and windows, the roof system and chimneys, the plumbing system, the electrical system, the heating and air conditioning systems, the interior, insulation and ventilation, and the fireplaces and fuel burning appliances. Inspections will normally take 2.5 to 4 hours, depending on the size of the house and the condition the house is in.

The report is narrative in style. Conditions needing correction or further evaluation are described accurately and thoroughly, and are written in a manner easily understood by those not in the inspection or construction industry. Included color photos appear next to the text that describes them. Only items that relate to the inspected house will be contained in the report — you will not have to navigate through page after page of general housing information that may not apply to your particular home.
