Tasting Room will be open the first and third Saturdays of the month, 1−4pm and by appointment.

History

Established in 2011.

The story of Cuvée Wine Cellars began with a group of home winemakers passionate about producing quality wines. After a run of successes in amateur– winemaking contests across California, inspiration struck and the decision was made to tackle the daunting task of becoming a bonded winery. As of 2011, we are a fully bonded winery! Cuvée is an urban winery, the location on the Central Peninsula does not permit us to grow our on grapes. Not an obstacle by any means, it does allow access to some of the most outstanding vineyards in Northern California.

We chose the name Cuvée –the French term for a blend of wines, usually of different varietals and/or vintages– to express the collaboration of wines and winemakers. With extensive research and tasting trials, teamwork and talent, the final products are exciting and refreshing.

Meet the Business Owner

Paul R.

Business Owner

After 25 years in the financial and corporate world, Paul spent the last 20 as owner of a successful construction company. Somewhere amidst running a business built on brick, concrete and plaster, he made the trek to Napa and thus began his love affair with grapes. In 1989, his friend Pat Smith introduced Paul to home winemaking and ten years later they made their first wine together.

Paul spent the majority of his free time over the past decade or so making wine and expanding his knowledge through classes at UC Davis, hands-on training and working with other accomplished winemakers. He has begun moving away from construction in order to become a full-time vintner, his true passion.
