Great Value priced and delicious breakfasts, Very wide selection and fast service. It’s a throw back to a different time when every town had several of these places. Broiler Express is the last soldier standing on Laurel Street. The sort of place where folks still read newspapers or just sit and watch the world go by.

Only came here since it was one of the few places open early and on a weekend… breakfast place, how can you mess that up, right? Food was flavorless and totally mediocre, their salsa came straight from a jar, the eggs were scrambled hard and didn’t taste fluffy at all. The bread is straight from the clearance rack of the grocery store. I wouldn’t come here again. The price is the only enticement, it was affordable and cheap but you get what you paid for, which is what you can find down at the soup kitchen I’m sure.

Food is alright, service is good too if you aren’t a dumbass. If you screw around, manager gets salty, if not he’s really nice

I really like coming here, there’s such a variate of food and everything we’ve ever gotten has been amazing. The staff is extremely friendly as well and they’re always very helpful. The gyros are to die for and breakfast is also really really good. We come here quite often and always have a great experience!

Would have given 5 stars — good food and good service except for very rude son Isiah. Dad needs to teach him customer service and remember who pays the bills. While our stay in San Carlos we ate every meal there but will never eat or recommend this place after being treated so bad. Good luck staying in business

Went there once dragged by my husband. Will not come back. Terrible, heavy food. They put sour cream in Greek style food!!!

Best damn clam chowder I have eaten in my 62 years of life. Ate here twice, great food at a great price. Loved the liver and onions! Best food deal in San Carlos! Super nice folks running the place, i will be back next time I am working in the area. Love it!!!

Third time I’ve eaten here, and the only negative is the weird pricing for burritos($ 1 extra for rice?). Everything I’ve had has been delicious, and the guy who runs the place is super nice. Will definitely come back when I can.

When our other place was packed on a Sunday morning, we came here, as I had remembered seeing it a couple of days before. The atmosphere is a little confusing at first, but really, you walk in, order and pay, take a number and a tray, find your own seat, and they will bring it to you. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced for the Bay Area!!! I had a bacon/mushroom/cheese omelette with hash browns. Hash brown portion was ginormous and crispy, just the way I like it! Boyfriend had eggs and a Belgian waffle. It was really good, too. The weird thing about this place is the variety. I would guess it is Greek-owned, and you have a variety of Greek options, some Mexican options, some Italian options, and lots of American options. Seems to have a regular clientele for a Sunday brunch/lunch crowd. Nice outdoor seating area if you want to do that. I am definitely coming back here next time I am in town.

I had been going to the boiler for the last 10 yrs never had a complaint up until probably the last couple of months when I asked them to cook my food a certain way they never can do it the way I asked them to well as of lately I’ve been going in asking for a large sausage which apparently is a number 7 it’s linguica or chorizo so today I go in I tell the gentleman three times what it is I want how I want it cooked he says no problem the food comes out my hash browns or burned the sausage is the little sausage that they serve with bacon and pancakes or eggs I tell them I told you I do not want my hash browns burned what are you giving me this sausage for well you said you wanted this I said three times now I wanted a large sausage the owner gets all upset with me after the Cook says what you ordered if I said I ordered something completely different than what you are bringing out here well we don’t know the difference apparently you know the difference in price because you charge me for the larger items and you come out with the smaller item so right there you were cheating me and the owner very very rude the customer is always right I’ve been a customer now for 10 years I could not help it if your staff cannot speak English and apparently with somebody asked you to cook something a certain way and you do not you get away with it I call you on it and you had the nerve to be so rude today well you lost my business forever I will never promote your business to anybody if anything I will say just how rude of honored you really are I’m surprised you made it this far in business good

Broiler is a San Carlos classic. My favorite is their breakfast specials, amazing food at an unbeatable price! The rest of the menu is great, I love popping in for lunch or a quick dinner. This place looks a little dated, but is easily one of my favorite San Carlos establishments!

The food is good and a great value. We like coming in early for breakfast and particularly like their omelettes and hash brown. The people here are nice. Overall — a great diner.

I love this place and hope it never changes. The place is great if you want a bargain diner. Breakfast, lunch and dinner the selection is overall classics and includes Greek food too and some Mexican. I just devoured a cheeseburger that was delicious for less than 5 bucks. The specials come with both fries and onion rings. It’s a bit dirty(the window coverings) but that’s how they keep the costs low so I am not complaining, just forewarning. You don’t get bothered here, rather put in your order and relax at your table with a free daily paper, your phone or a paperback book and wait for the deliciousness to come. Dear Broiler Express: please stay the way you are and don’t get replaced by some snobby joint charging 14 dollars for a hamburger; I like you just the way you are.

Love Broiler! Just had the greek salad and WOW! So fresh and so authentic! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a lighter healthier meal at Broiler.(it was actually quite large, served with grilled pita bread. was filling without the guilty fried food in the stomach feeling) Their fries are always the best. My boyfriend always gets chicken fingers and fries and he has never been disappointed. I have also had a cheeseburger and it was cooked well and very good. There is a reason this place has stayed in business for so many years.

Food is good, total greasy spoon type of joint. My wife did have an issue with the wait time for food but there were a lot of people in the restaurant and and only two cooks. Overall, a place to go when you’re not in a rush or dragging along nine girls under 11.

At this Diner you get what you would expect. It has an expansive menu with all kinds of options for every picky eater. This place is popular with other patrons during breakfast thanks to their large portions and variety of options. The food is reasonably priced and it is right in the middle of downtown San Carlos. If you and your significant other can’t decide what to eat for dinner then you both can stare up at the giant menu and allow your stomachs to decide for you. BUT if you do order here you might want to consider taking your food to go. The only problem with the place is the ambiance. It is old and outdated with a very dreary feeling. This is immediately brought to your attention as you walk in and look up to order food. You will find 3 different menus posted in different spots and in different formats. Some of the menus are even partially hand written with marker. Some of the customers there can also be a bit depressing. Everyone at their tables just stares up at the old television as they eat their food. I think if the Broiler got themselves a nice face lift it would appeal to more customers and convince them to eat there. Until then I will continue to order my food for pick up.

The food here is pretty solid. Its a great place for breakfast/lunch. They have great milkshakes as well! You cant really go wrong with the breakfast, and the burgers at lunch are pretty damn good. I stop here when I can, but I wish i would think about going here more often.

great service and comfortable seating. I usually get the fettuccine alfredo and a milkshake. There shakes are great. The prices are pretty fair too. They have a wide range of food selections to choose from.

Extra cheese at no extra cost! This place is the bees knees. It’s the cats pajamas. #5 all day. Cheese omelet all day. Cheeseburger all day. So juicy! Just an overall kick back relax kind of place. Vibe is on point. Now the real question is «how would you like your eggs»?
