Dan and his team are great. They did my brakes on my Honda Element and I have never been happier especially after the manufacturers recall. What I like is the focus on quality and clearly explaining what my car needs and in the end what was done. Recently, my brakes were making a weird noise and since they had done the last repair they checked it out for free. Just awesome.

Dan and all of his technicians (especially Daniel) are the most trustworthy, accommodating, and kind mechanics I have had the good fortune to find. Plus, they have a great sense of humor! They know I’m on a budget and are honest about what absolutely needs to be taken care of and what could possible wait without damaging my car. They are the best in the business and truly care.

I’ve been going to Dan since 2001. Great operation, great guy. Prices are fair and work is great. He gives great advice to save you money as well. You can drop off the car, put the keys in the slot and leave a message on the phone.

We were in search of a new repair shop because we were having start-​up/​stalling issues with our truck and Bermico was recommended to us by our trusted audio/​visual installation tech — Mark with SoundWave. Even though we live 1+ hour away… we decided to give Bermico a chance. Dan the master technician and his team were honest, knowledgeable and reasonable. They fixed the problem and more… (sometimes more seems dreadful because of pricing, but not in this case). Now our truck is running smoothly! Thanks Dan and crew!

Bermico Auto took care of me. I came here with completely worn out brake pads/​rotors and the owner (Dan) took me in right away. I dropped my car off at 3pm and not only did he give me a ride back to my office but I had my car back the next day at 10am. The best part about the experience was the pricing, which was extremely competitive as I had called around to 4 other auto repair shops and received quotes that were ranging from $ 200-​$ 300 more than what Bermico charged me.
Overall, Bermico is trustworthy, his shop is extremely clean and I will definitely be coming back here for any auto related needs! I highly recommend coming here!

Everybody knows how hard it is to find a good car shop where people are honest, courteous and efficient. Bermico is one of these few places. First time I came it was for a 2001 Jetta on which I didn’t want to spend much money, just the regular maintenance to keep it running. They always kept that in mind and did always a great job on my car. I now live in the city and doesn’t get my car serviced there anymore but I would like to if I could.

I’ve been going to this shop since my fallout with Veracom Mitsubishi (which is now out of business). I’ve learned about this place from Soundwave Mobile when asking if they knew any auto shop who would be my go to people for all my mechanical needs. They referred me to Dan here and I was more impressed with not only his professionalism but he never leaves out «ANY» details on any job I need done to my car. Guaranteed full explanation on what is going to be done, the pros and the cons and if at anytime during the job, if there is anything that his mechanics catch, Dan will give you a phone call to give you the heads up on what they found and will plan with you a course of action for said incident.
Never once have I ever felt pressured about being forced to do an additional job, Dan is happy to give you his recommendation should you not choose to perform a found incident on when to bring the vehicle back for whatever was found during a job. I’ve had many jobs done to my car. My most memorable service was having my headlights being switched out and learning that my headlights in their respective spots had different amount a space in their areas that required to have a slight modification to them should I want the new headlights installed.
It was highly recommended to bring in my old OEM intake system in order to install the headlights and search for an alternative Short Ram Intake system if I wished to keep my vehicle the way I wanted it to be or shop for a Short Ram Intake. After coming to Dan’s shop for years, I had no issue with ordering a new Short Ram Intake for this headlight job, even with his recommendation to bring in my old one to save money.
The price you pay for your car at this shop is worth every penny!

I would never trust anyone else to work on my car and I never will! The owners of Bermico Auto are a local family from San Carlos who run an honest and trustworthy company. I have been a loyal customer of theirs for almost 10 years as is almost every member of my extended family. They are that good. I do not know the first thing about cars, and as a young woman, it would be very easy for a mechanic to trick me into paying for services that I do not need (which I have experienced unfortunately at chain companies such as Jiffy Lube… NEVER use them). Because of that, being able to confide in a trustworthy auto shop is really important to me. I am also a commuter, so making sure my car is running smoothly is crucial.
I take my car in to Dan about once a year to get a full inspection to make sure everything in my car is running smoothly and he gives me a list of things that A. I need to take care of asap and B. I should take care of eventually but that aren’t urgent. He lays everything out in layman’s terms and gives me a quick quote then and there. The best part is, if there is no work that needs to be done on the car, you do not have to pay a single cent! I usually have him at least change my oil, filters and fluids at least which amounts to around $ 50. That is an amazing price to pay for not only the oil, filter and fluid change, but also the peace of mind knowing how your car is running.
I recommend this company no matter where you are in the Bay Area. It is worth the drive to San Carlos to work with an honest family-​owned business.

I’ve been driving for twenty years, and it doesn’t get any better than this. ASE certified mechanics that are honest. They’ll always give your car a once over, and make recommendations, the pros/​cons of fixing them, and the risks of delaying the fixes. Sometimes it’s better to not fix certain things, based on the cost, and they’ll tell you that as well.
Dan is a former instructor at a local community college, and is a great guy. He runs an honest business which is hard to find these days.
I was very sad when I moved and had to find a new mechanic, but if you are looking for one, look no further.

I’m not a big Unilocaler but feel compelled to write a review. I have taken my car here a couple times and the service is great! I fully trust the work, service and prices. A good mechanic shop is a rare find and Bermico Auto is a GREAT mechanic shop. They always are very kind, prompt and fair. I am happy I found them and would highly recommend them to friends and family.

For years I’d been taking the Toyota to Tony’s in San Bruno and the Miata to PR in Hayward. From Redwood City. After an incident which required towing, I decided this long-​distance servicing had to stop, regardless of how trustworthy and competent they were… so I started looking for something more local. When I came across Bermico, I was stunned to realize this is the guy who’d taught the Auto Shop class I took at Skyline another lifetime ago. Two miles is a heck of a lot more manageable than 20… and he could service both my cars. So I had to give him a try.
I took the Toyota in first as it was farther behind in maintenance. Dan’s guys Ricky and Daniel read me the Riot Act. Okay, you’re right! Their repairs were meticulous, and Dan was outstanding in referrals for work they couldn’t do.
Since taken both cars in a few times and delighted with their responsiveness, reputation and reliability. The shop is easy to reach, super clean, and there are ample amenities within walking distance. And it’s always a hoot to see Dan and go back to those Auto Shop class days!

I started going to Dan about 10 years ago, trying to find someone who does it right the first time. Bermico is that place. He has helped my son get through the last 30,000 miles of our old minivan without excess cost and takes good care of my Z4. Honest nice and the problems get fixed.

My parents have been taking their cars here for YEARS and will not go anywhere else. I took my car here the other day and I definitely see why! Dan is probably the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. He was courteous, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Dale contacted me with an estimate just two hours after I brought my car in and it was fixed four hours later! Ok i have been coming to Dan’s shop for years now and i absoltley enjoy everything about this place. They are an honest shop with three very hard working mechanics and they do a wonderful job. There is no beating around the bush at this place. You get honest answers and honest prices here and i enjoy the people here. Been coming here for years, and I still go. They have sent me home more than once telling me that my car is just fine, and in no need of maintenance or repair.
They are on the expensive side, but between the repair they DO make, and the repairs they tell me aren’t necessary, I feel like it’s a good balance. At this point in my relationship with them, I completely trust their diagnostics and work.

We took our GMC Denali to Bermico with a starting problem that had plagued us for 2 years. 5 other shops had failed to find the problem and had charged us a diagnostic fee every time. Owing to the very rare «perfect score» on Google reviews we took the Denali to Dan at Bermico. He diagnosed the problem correctly right away! Bermico fixed the problem right the first time. He will service our cars from now on.

We started going to Dan’s after we got tired of the impersonal treatment and the high «standard» charges from the dealerships.
We are very pleased with Dan’s workmanship and advice (i.e. no need to replace this, time to replace that, etc.). Dan’s a great guy who is honest and fair. Before long trips, I usually ask Dan to look over my vehicle for safety. His shop is clean and seems to be run very well.
