DO NOT GOT THROUGH THESE PEOPLE! They will nickle and dime you for everything! From changing a payment date, to taking payment over the phone. You will literally spend hundreds per year JUST in customer service! The rudeness and nature of these people reminds me of a tow yard. I spoke with Lucy who claims to be the only person by that name and not only was her attitude completely disrespectful and degrading, but she also kept me on hole for 24 minutes just to hang up on me. I am honestly disturbed by these people and I hope this review helps you understand to CHOOSE A DIFFERENT BANK!!! I am going to refinance my car ASAP so these crooks can no longer be a part of my life. THE WORST BANK EVER!

I usually am not the type of person to go into the bank unless I have to open an account or talk to someone. Or else I just use the atm. But this branch gives that family feel! I enjoy coming and talking with the tellers! I had Jaime open up my account! Very personable and patient with all my questions and needs! Thank you for helping me out! Give this guy a raise!

This bank is awesome! I am able to take care of all my financial needs under one roof. They don’t have that «big bank» feel so you won’t feel like they don’t care about your business. They are more personable. I would definitely recommend BBVA Compass to everyone. :-)

lots of parking but none of it close to the door. you’ll have to walk and if you have elderly parents like i do, its hard on them.
its a very quiet bank. i really thought, wow, this looks like the kind of thing in a movie where they show up, you invest money… then they’re gone tomorrow.
the people are all very friendly and alert to step up and offer you assistance. the thing is, they don’t have the ability to do what you think they can do. you end up being sent to another person from time to time.
in this case, a CD wanted to be updated but it turns out they cannot update it until its that ONE time a year. Its not done quarterly, monthly or even bi annually. only yearly. so what can i say? should have asked before agreeing to starting it.
its decent interest rates so i am not gonna complain. just pointing that out.

The tellers and managers seem to go out of their way to be obnoxious at this branch. The ATM around the corner is always filthy. Zero customer service. I’m taking my money and business to the San Mateo Credit Union. Good riddance BBVA Compass.

Where do I start? A mortgage broker forged a document and opened a line of credit under my name. I applied for biweekly payments nobody ever got back to me. They changed their checking accounts to $ 1500 in the account per month or you get charge a $ 9 service charge. I had $ 1500 in the account and they still charged me. THIS BANK SUCKS! I highly recommend to take your money elsewhere.

Luckily I don’t bank here — i just went in to ask for quarters for the wash and they were so rude — customer service (really talking about the tall women at the front counter) is aweful. wouldn’t bank here.

I bank with a different branch with a different name, but they were taken over by BBVA. & my review is basically of BBVA anyway. So here goes… I would give zero stars if possible, but since I can’t, I rate it so low because I’ve had nothing but problems with their service.
Since the merger, I’ve had my card declined uncountable times online and in stores. It’s so embarrassing and annoying when this happens. It is so unnecessary too when I have sufficient funds in my account.
Everytime I call BBVA service lines to discuss why my card keeps declining, the people on the phone always tell me it’s not the bank or the card’s fault; it’s the merchant. How the hell can EVERY merchant be having problems ALL the time?! It’s definitely not the merchants because I’m able to use a different card just fine (though I hate using any other card & that’s why I switched to my current bank so I didn’t have to use my other accounts).
Finally, I just didn’t even want to keep dealing with this same problem over and over and wanted a permanent fix. I called today and the first person was fine and ended up having to transfer me to someone who can better assist me. That next person was fine… until in mid-​sentence, I get cut off by a message that says my call couldn’t go through. Um WHAT? I was already on the phone with someone. how can it not go through when it’s already through? So… I call back trying to explain my problem and that I just want to repeat the process to get back to the department I was transferred to. The lady interrupts me and just wants my card number. Then she realizes she can’t help me. Well, DUH. She would have known that had she not cut me off in the first place. All I got from her from then on was just straight attitude. SO ANNOYED, I give up. I try to make an online purchase and guess what. my card’s declined… what’s new. I call again and they can’t do anything for me ONCE AGAIN.
I am so frustrated with these BBVA Compass people and their crap. They cannot do anything to assist me and by this time (after months of having check card problems) I’m SURE it’s THEIR problem and not the merchant’s or my fault for all these inconveniences, though everytime I call they can’t take responsibility for it and tell me I enter my information wrong or the merchant’s system is down. & that’s their biggest downfall.
I’m seriously considering discontinuing business with them. Save yourself the inconvenience and annoyance and just don’t even set up any account with BBVA.

& by the way, I also had the SAME problem with BBVA as the previous Unilocaler that had to dispute charges and ended up being in debt. Seriously. this bank freaking SUUUUUCKSS!!! It’s unfortunate that i’m not the only one with so many bad experiences with BBVA’s service.

If you ever have your account comprimised you better hope you don’t bank here! First they told me there was NOTHING they could do just had to let all the charges to through then I would have to dispute them including the bank charges. I cant describe how great of a bank it truly is. Its one of the 13^th most safest banks in the entire world, look it up under worlds safest banks. I think a lot of people will be happy with this bank. Spanish Banking has arrived in California… ADELANTE!
