San Bruno, CA. Not sure what I was expecting. Hotel was one of the worst I’ve had the pleasure to stay at, but I’m not reviewing my hotel. I’m reviewing«Georgio’s,» the only bar within walking distance of the hotel. A homeless-looking guy missing his front teeth tried to get me to come in here when I walked past the first time. He said something like«Georgio’s, man… if you wanna have a good time, get in here!» Well, the rest of the street wasn’t too much better looking, and I did want to have a good time, I must confess. So I went in. The homeless guy followed me in. Alright. I’ll just ignore him and drink my scotch. Nope. No, he is being really friendly to me. A little too friendly. Keeps touching my shoulder, intense eye contact, no respect for my personal space. Keeps asking me what will happen when I get more drunk — whether I will«get wild.» Hmm. San Bruno, CA. Kind of like a dirtier, poorer, more depressing San Francisco. But still equally gay.

This place is a real beer bar with friendly and down to earth bartenders. The crowd here seems cool and humble. They have food here too, Idk the food is good but its not that much of a restaurant. They have pool tables with great sticks to use. I think the bathroom door says 650 dick ass, I am not quite sure what that means. They have decent mimosas and seem to have a loyal crowd. Amanda Rocks bartends here too!

If you’re looking for a dive bar, you have found it. Thumbs up for strong, cheap drinks. Thumbs down for the the misleading signs that they are a restaurant(we were only looking for the«strong, cheap drinks» part so A-OK for us).

This place isn’t a restaurant anymore, just a colorful local dive bar. The bartenders here are really friendly, the regulars are always pretty trashed. There’s a bummy looking guy who is always dancing around here. It’s kind of like San Bruno’s version of Cheers but people are way more wasted.

We ate here once and the pizza crust was burnt and the sauce moldy. After that, I’ve never been back. «Laid back family spot»? Are you crazy? I live less than a block away and walk past the place 3 to 4 times a week, usually in the evening, and I would NEVER take my kids or parents here! The people who hang out front look like meth heads or homeless alcoholics.

Georgio’s is my mom’s favorite — holds a lot of sentimental value for her, as she grew up in an Italian family in the Bay Area. The atmosphere is definitely a laid-back family spot and the staff is very friendly. However, the two or three times I’ve been there, there pizza simply hasn’t been up to par. Although the crust is nice and thin and the ingredients are plenty good, I’ve certainly had better pizza in the city. Their pasta, however, seems like their strong point; I would encourage anyone going to give it a shot and review it on Unilocal

This place was a biker bar called the«Club» for years. They still have a full bar and it’s nice to get something other than just wine or beer with your pizza. My husband had a White Russian with his burger… that’s nice. They really aren’t public ready. The pizza was good but it took 45 minutes to get even though they were not busy. I noticed the other 2 families around us had unususlly long waits as well. I asked if they make a thin crust and our waitress assured us if we ask, they will. She said they won’t charge for extra sauce either. My husband got the burger which was really good. The roll was very soft and the steak fries had garlic salt on them… they were yummy. My one daughter got the buffalo wings. She liked them, though they looked scrawny to me. No water in the sink in the Ladies, but they do have a sign saying they are working on the plumbing. The sign is nice and all, but not being able to wash your hands after using the WC and then going back to your table to eat is a big turn off for me. They should have a big bottle of water for hand washing and a big bottle of Purell. The kids had fun with the juke box and in the future they will have darts and a game room in the back. So this is the kind of place you can take the kids for pizza or a burger, they can play games and you can have a good stiff drink.
