Dr Jesse is an amazing Dentist! I have send several people his way for lip and tongue revisions and decided to try him for my dentist. It used to take zanax and twilight sleep to get me into a dental chair! Not anymore the staff and Dr Jesse are so amazing and have such a calming and wonderful manner. They will make you feel comfortable immediately !

Although this was my my only experience with frenectomy and I don’t have anything to compare it to, all together it was a great experience. This appointment was for my 1 year old. I first e-​mailed Dr. James a photo of my daughter’s lip tie, he responded within 24 hours. So I called to make an appointment, I asked a few questions about how long it would take, etc, the lady on the phone was knowledgeable. I was even able to get an appointment within the next week.
I left Orange County around 9:15 and hit NO traffic both way, so if you are coming from Orange County an appointment at 10:30 — 11:15 would be ideal. I signed a couple of forms and was let into the room with my 1 year old. The nurse told us what would happen, what to expect and how to hold down my daughter. Dr. James came in within a few minutes, he took a look inside my daughters mouth, said she only had a lip tie and then explained everything to me. He was extremely thorough, you could tell this was very routine for him and his staff.
After he put a little numbing gel on my daughter we waited about 3 – 4 mins and we held her down again, he gave her the anesthetic shot, and did the laser in under a minute. My baby girl was crying the whole time from being held down, rather than pain, which was expected. But it literally lasted less time than getting shots done at the doctor.
Very quick, informative, knowledgeable and professional. He also said it will not grow back because he lasers to the bone? Not sure what he said honestly, but that was interesting because my friend’s daughter JUST got it done at a different dr. in Redlands and he said there is a possibility of growing back so you have to do the exercises for about 2 weeks. Dr. James said lip exercises for only 5 days. So not sure if there is a difference in the way they do the laser or what. But I guess we shall see if it does grow back. Really wish I had known my baby had a lip tie when she was born, would have made life SO much easier! If you are thinking about getting it done, its totally worth it. I can already feel a difference with nursing her.

Dr. Jesse if very friendly, his staff are professional, the space is clean and comfortable. Dr. Jesse is very skilled at performing revisions for upper lip ties, but he does not check correctly for tongue ties.
2 years ago, I took my first son to Dr. Jesse because he couldn’t latch for breastfeeding. Dr. Jesse found he had a lip tie, corrected it, but nothing improved. I ended up supplementing with formula and using a nipple shield to feed my son, who would still take hours and hours to eat.
With my second son, I could also see that he had a lip tie and the same symptoms and took him to Dr. Jesse, who he said he had a severe lip tie but no tongue tie. I asked him specifically to check for the posterior tongue tie, which is often hard to see. He took a quick glance and said that my son did not have a tongue tie, We had Dr. Jesse correct the lip and everything went well, but none of my son’s symptoms improved.
Weeks later, I contacted a lactation consultant who checked my son and found that he did in fact have a very tight posterior lip tie. (she checked by putting my son upside down, pulling up the tongue, and looking with a flash light, and also felt underneath his tongue and watched his tongue movements.) When she showed me, even I could see it.
I then had to go for a second revision with a different dentist… that means another long drive, another time for my son to be in pain and to have to recover, and another big sum of money to pay (there’s normally a discount when you do the lip and tongue tie at the same time).
After having the tongue tie revised, my son is finally breastfeeding well, sleeping better, and is no longer have gas or colic. I’m also able to feed him without the nipple shield. It’s a huge difference! My older son never got to experience this, I trusted Dr. Jesse and did not seek a second opinion, and my son suffered because of it.
I have unfortunately spoken to other moms who have had the same experience. I am convinced he also missed the tongue tie in my first son.
I truly do not understand why Dr. Jesse does not do a more thorough check for the posterior tongue ties (which are almost always present when there is an upper lip tie and are really more essential for breastfeeding).
He does an excellent job with the upper lip, but his lack of awareness of tongue ties is going to cause many more moms and babies to suffer unnecessarily.

We came here for my daughter’s toungue tie, however it took 6 weeks to get in, when they were saying they had week old babies coming in, so I’m not sure why my 6 week old baby had to wait so long. Procedure was fast and easy, healed great, would definitely recommend him.

I also took my younger son here at two weeks old as well since he also had a lip and tongue tie. I had the same wonderful experience with him. Both my son who is now almost 2 years old and my daughter who is now 4.5 years old have the most amazing wide smiles and beautiful facial and dental development that they wouldn’t have had if they hadn’t had this simple procedure done. If i have any more children I will definitely take them to Dr. Jesse soon after birth if they have any signs of lip or tongue tie. A++++

My son’s pediatrician suggested Dr. James Jesse, a supposed reputable doctor, to perform my son’s frenectomy seeing that he was severely tongue-​tied and lip tied. First impression was not good. He didn’t seem to be good with kids and he had zero bedside manner.
The procedure went as follows: my husband bear hugged my son down, with the help of two other nurses, and I held his legs down. He applied a local anesthetic to the top of his gums and under his tongue and then waited a short while before injecting some more numbing agent. He made us all wear glasses during the surgery. My son was screaming bloody murder, in a way I have never heard him scream before. He was obviously in pain, for reasons I will have discovered later. The surgery felt like it took forever. It was very hard to watch my son so uncomfortable and wailing the way that he was. There was a strong scent of burning flesh, which added to the traumatizing experience.

It wasn’t until two days later that I noticed a noticeably large mark on my son’s tongue. It looked EXACTLY like the surgery site located under the tongue– same texture, same color and everything– but the mark was on the top of my son’s tongue on his right side, far from where the laser should have cut. Needless to say, I was irate.
Careful to approach the situation correctly, I returned the next day and spoke to the doctor– calmly, but sternly. The way I was treated when I came back in was unbelievable!
DR. JESSE came in, looked at the huge mark on his tongue and said «Yep, he bit himself. 6 times.» I told him that I thought it was a burn and he patted me on the back on his way out and replied «Okay, doctor». I was in disbelief. This doctor would not even hear what I had to say, showed zero empathy and ridiculed me in front of his staff! Then he hid in the back of his office and never came back out, but instead left his nurse in the room with me to argue with me for the next 15 minutes.
THE NURSE JANE and I went back and forth. First she was calm but when I continued to put my foot down, she became rude and kept insisting that it was a bite. Her reasoning was that «any wound in the mouth looks the same». She also said «DID YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU CAME IN HERE? DID YOU GOOGLE IT?» in the most rude way possible.
At this point, I was pissed. I asked her why she was arguing with me and where the doctor was, since he should have been in there, ADMITTING HIS MISTAKE and at the very least APOLOGIZING. Instead, he literally hid in the back of his office, nowhere to be found.
I knew I was getting no where and the last thing I wanted to do was start cussing the staff out, so I went to the front desk and asked for a hard copy of all the legal documents I signed before the surgery. DENISE AT THE FRONT DESK, who was rude from the very start, just shook her head at me and said, «YOU’RE OVER REACTING». WOW. I think I have every right to react the way that I did, considering it is my damn CHILD that they injured. I work at a hotel and I have gotten yelled at and cussed out over the smallest things like the TV remote control not working, and never in my 7 years of customer service experience have I ever said «YOU’RE OVER REACTING».
I am seriously in awe. My husband and I will never stop feeling bad for what we made our son go through and will forever feel guilty for going taking him to Dr.Jesse. It was a terrifying, traumatizing, humiliating experience I never want to go through again. The VERY least they could have done was give me a sincere apology and my money back so it wouldn’t feel as if I paid $ 800 to hurt my child. And as for the «bite», you can look at the picture and make that judgment yourself and choose whether or not you want to go to Dr. Jesse. Whether it be a Bite or burn, The way my family and I were treated should be enough to deter ANYONE away from this horrible place.

I had taken my daughter here about 2 years ago when she had her tongue and lip tie to be corrected. Dr Jesse did excellent work — she latched on immediately (significant difference of going from PAIN to hardly any pain!) and had been exclusively breast feed (EBF) since that day for the rest of her first year.
So with the birth of my son, which I found out also has a tongue and lip tie — I knew I had to come here. I was able to get an appointment immediately (yay) due to a cancelation. And well, the procedure was quick. We were pleasantly pleased. And though he hasn’t latched on as well as my daughter. He had about a day and night of fussiness… When he did latch, I didn’t have pain at my nipples. I could tell this is gonna be the start of another good breastfeeding experience!

Office is nice and clean. All the staff were very friendly. I took my infant daughter to have her lip tie lasered. Dr. Jesse was so nice and fast. I’m currently pregnant again, and if (hopefully not) my next child has a tounge or lip tie I will DEFINATELY bring them here without hesitation. So much without hesitation to where I would love to able to get in right after we’re discharged from the hospital.

I defiantly recommend for everyone to come here. Our third son was born with a lip and tongue tie and after weeks of pain I finally came to dr Jesse because my doctor thought there was nothing wrong and wouldn’t send me to a specialist. I called and asked if they had an appointments and luckily they had one for the following week. Our sons insurance was still pending and we where assured they accepted our insurance and they would bill for the procedure and we would be reimbursed. We were told it could take a couple of weeks so we were ok with it. And even out of pocket the cost is stil extremely affordable. The procedure was quick. We were in and out in about 45 minutes and the baby did pretty good. A week passed and we couldn’t tell he had even had anything done. Everything is amazing now and nursing is super enjoyable now thanks to Dr Jesse. I would have easily given up on nursing if it wasn’t for us coming here. Everyone should come here if your little one has any type of tie.

We drove 7 hours each way to have Dr. Jesse do a lip revision on our 15 month old son. I was petrified to say the least. I had no idea what to expect, how torturous it would be, etc. Needless-​to-​say, it was all so simple in the end.
We arrived, filled out normal paperwork, went into a very state of the art room. Sat with our son in the dentists chair. They used a Q-​tip to numb his lip, a few minutes later they numbed it with a needle (he didn’t notice), put some glasses on him and we all held him down. Dad was bear-​hugging him in the chair, I held his legs, and a nurse held his head. The laser took all of 30 seconds. At one point I asked «Are we going to start» and Dr. Jesse said «We are done».
The laser is whisper quiet. There are no smells (i.e. burning flesh). Our son cried his eyes out due to being held down. The minute we all let go, he was quiet and even smiled.
We left 5 minutes after that. He healed beautifully. Our insurance paid 80% of the $ 450 procedure. I know they will give a discount if your child needs a tongue AND lip tie revision.
There are folks on the Tongue Tie Group in Facebook who will bash Dr. Jesse for not performing more tongue ties. We as moms like to self diagnose. Dr. Jesse’s methodology is «If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it». Now, could he miss some tongue ties? Maybe. So if you truly feel your child has a tongue tie when you see Dr. Jesse, bring a list of reasons why you feel this way and sit down and walk him through it. He’s not unreasonable at all. He just doesn’t want to put a child through a procedure they are not showing symptoms of.
BTW, he’s got a great sense of humor and the staff is super sweet.

NO SHOTS, NO DRILL… LOVE MY DENTIST! Dr Jesse has been my dentist for over a decade. He is my kids dentist… dentist…if that makes sense. Use the LASER dentistry you will love it.

Super friendly, professional, and comforting to have Dr. Jesse and his staff work on our son for a lip tie procedure. It was so quick, my baby practically slept through the 22 second long procedure, and now he’s cured forever! We’re thinking of making the hour drive one way just to have him as our family dentist!

Dr Jesse is amazing! What a sweet guy. So professional and right off the bat, you can tell he sincerely cares about kids! He did both my girls lip tie. He uses laser so recovery is faster. My newborn was able to nurse better immediately. My 2.5 year old felt no pain whatsoever and was able to eat right away. They were so good with her she never cried! They are so professional and kind. They send reminders and call you post procedure to check on you. I was really happy we went with Dr Jesse. His work is flawless.

Highly recommended. My newborn had a severe lip tie and I was unable to nurse due to the condition. This office was professional and amazing! My ten day old son had the lip tie removed and was able to nurse immediately after! I am so grateful I found this dentist. My son is now six months old and thriving! Each time he nurses I am thankful.

From a father’s perspective.
Today we took my son to Dr. Jesse to have his lip tie removed. He is 1 year old or as most parents would say 15 months. As we walked in we noticed how professional the facility is. The front desk clerk is great and as we entered the room where the procedure would be performed we noticed how modern all the equipment is along with the furniture. Before the procedure was even going to be performed Dr. Jesse examined my sons mouth and confirmed he did in fact have a lip tie and a severe case at that. With that information given to my wife and I he then went on to explain the pros about having this procedure done and the cons. But there are no cons! He then was ready to walk out the room so that my wife and I could talk it over and be sure we wanted to perform the procedure and simply told us he is NOT trying to sell us anything the decisions is ours and I believed him because he also mentioned that if the procedure wasnt necessary he wouldnt do it.
With that said, we told him we were all for it. Topical numbness gel was placed on my sons lip tie, a few minutes went by, Dr. Jesse came back in gave my son the injection and the procedure began. I counted 62 seconds in my head and before I knew it, it was over.
When it was over my son got up, hugged his mom and we walked out of there with a baby that was not crying. Amazing!
The procedure itself was a piece of cake! It truly was. The staff and Dr. Jesse are true professionals and they know what they are doing.
I would be lieing to you if I didnt say it was hard to hold my sons arms down by his side and hear him scream a little but in 62 seconds or less it is over and a lifetime of headaches and future dental problems is avoided. Parents do this for your child and if you desire minimal pain for your child and yourself take them to Dr. Jesse.
Remember it is better to have this procedure performed as early as possible on your child.

We had an appointment with Dr James this morning. Both of my boys have severe lip ties. I had no idea (until recently) what that actually was. The office staff was great, the building is large, clean and soothing. There was no wait time at all which I really appreciated with two toddlers. Dr. James examined both boys and determined that only one needed a procedure. The laser was used for less then a minute. It didn’t seem to bother my babe too much. The let me snuggle my son while he had the procedure done which made the baby (and me) a lot more relaxed. They are complete pros! We were extremely happy with the entire experience. I wish more pediatricians were educated on lip ties. Correcting them is extremely important! We drove an hour from LA because we heard that he was the best. It was well worth it!

Amazing dentist, environment, and staff! My husband and I drove all the way from Santa Monica because Dr Jesse came highly recommended. My baby was only 3 weeks old and needed to have an upper lip tie lassered. As new parents we were terrified, but the Dr and staff made us feel immediately at ease and confident that our baby would be ok. The procedure was done in less than 20 seconds and my baby was able to feed only 2 hours after appointment. So grateful to these wonderful people!

He was great. I was a anxious going in for my sons lip and tongue tie. Turns out he only had lip tie. They gave him a topical numbing and a numbing injection. He then used the laser to cut his lip tie. He explained what complications the lip tie could lead to and helped ease our worry. The tongue was okay. DDS told us by 2 weeks vast improvement. Between 3 – 5 days a some improvement and by 7 days should be completely healed. Also, gave us lip exercises to do. He was super personable and very Funny. This mama is relieved!!!
He also had an awesome changing station for mamas. :)

Dr. Jesse fixed my son’s class 4 upper lip tie (the thickest type) and posterior tongue tie beautifully and quickly with laser. He is knowledgeable, professional, and an expert in tongue and lip ties. I will continue to refer him to friends struggling with the same issues! We now have an amazing breastfeeding relationship because of Dr. Jesse’s work. My son also does not have colic, gas, or reflux anymore after revising his ties.
Update: I had my own posterior tongue tie revised by him and am very pleased with his service. He seems to be the only provider in southern (if not all of) California who is knowledgeable and can fully treat ties.

With out question the best dentist I have ever been to. He clearly knows his dentistry and puts his patients first.
I love that he uses lasers for many procedures.
