I’ve been here 2 or 3 times. You usually need an appointment and the cheapest haircut is $ 30 or $ 35. They serve you a drink during the haircut and they do a lot of extras like a straight razor on the neck and a warm towel for your face. After always going to super cuts/​pro cuts/​goody’s, etc., this place spoiled me to the point I can never go back to one of those chain buzz shops again.
I just wish it was a little cheaper and they took more walk-​ins. I would have to find a way to give 6 stars.

Good spot for a haircut. Rare that a place shaves the back of your neck, so that is a must have for me. No complaints about the service or atmosphere. Price is what you’d expect.
Now if someone could tell soccer moms to bring their little kids to a super cuts instead of a place like this that men come to in order to take a break and relax from the everyday grind, that would be great.

I moved to San Antonio 2 years ago and knowing almost no one had to search for a new stylist on my own. I was lucky enough to find Nghia and The Parlour right off the bat and would never go anywhere else. From the moment you walk in, you’re met with a handshake, a smile, and a greeting by name. Next you’re offered a beer or non-​alcoholic beverage of your choice, and truthfully asked how you’ve been. Normally I wouldn’t mention my experiences this extensively, but I fully believe this kind of service is exactly what makes The Parlour so outstanding.
As for the haircut, Nghia likes to use thinning shears on the men he cuts, but as soon as I asked him not to use them, he agreed that it was the best thing for my hair and kept them in the drawer. I asked him to «make me look great, and do your best work.» That’s certainly what I receive every time I visit. It’s why I return to him at least once a month, and before every major event I attend. Beyond the hair, the stylists take the time to trim your eyebrows, should they need trimming, giving you a great wash with head massage and warm facial towel, and even a straight razor shave on your sideburns, temples, and neckline.
If you’re looking for a fantastic cut, with all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a highly experienced, professional, friendly, and thorough hair stylist, come into The Parlour: Gentlemen’s Barbers and Groomers. They will treat you right every time and for a spectacular price.

I made an appointment with the Parlour only to walk in and be told «Your girl didn’t show up. I’m sorry» and was told I couldn’t get my hair cut. I didn’t receive a phone call I was extremely disappointed because it shows a lack of consideration for customers’ time. Very unprofessional…

Seriously the best barber I’ve had in awhile. The moment you walk in you are greeted with smiles from the Vietnamese couple that owns the place. Then they take your coat and offer you coffee, water, or beer while you wait. They quickly get to know you by name and they are very easy to talk to. Not only are they very nice people but they also know how to cut hair very well. I have zero complaints about my haircuts. They offer a student discount which is also nice. I first visited this place last year and I wish I started a long time ago.
IMPORTANT: Call ahead to schedule an appointment! I’ve seen many walk-​ins turned away because they were fully booked!
On a side note… I really love phở and the owners recommended Heavenly Phở in Stone Oak. I totally agree with them that it’s the best phở in San Antonio. Go check it out!

I went in for a basic «shape-​up» haircut, nothing complicated. I called just before they opened at 9, and was able to basically walk in for a cut.
Had a nice cup of coffee, the barber was pleasant and very attentive to my hair. Was glad to get it washed afterwards (no hair all over me all day), which was pretty relaxing as well. Shave was nice too.
Overall I was impressed with the relaxing atmosphere and quality of the cut. Price was slightly higher than your standard barber, but worth it in my opinion.

Best haircut in San Antonio. Friendly, welcoming team. Be sure to call and schedule your appointment ahead by a little, as the staff is small and in my experience, they’re usually booked up.

The owner has terrible attitude!!!
He does NOT know anything about customer service.
If u ask him to cut in certain way he takes it personal as that your insulting him.!!
If u call to rescheduled your appointment he will tell u he doesn’t wane see u anymore. There is no front desk person so every time phone rings he stops working and answers the phone!!!
MOST importantly, he does NOT use new blades. He used the same blade on me that he used on the guy before me!!! I was terrified and told him that I want him to use a new blade but he ignored and said it’s clean!!!
He has terrible personality.
If I am paying 30 $ for a haircut I want customer service not just a haircut!!!

The Friendliest spot for a cut! They make you feel at home, they know everyone by their name! Beer, An outstanding cut, shampoo and shoulder rub. Cannot go wrong here people! I’ve had Nghia or Mr. Née cut my hair various styles from normal trim, taper fade, low fade, military cut, faux hawk. He can do it all and he’ll have a good conversation with you. If you are in the area, don’t hesitate to come here. Make sure you make a reservation!

Went in this morning with appointment. He was ready for me very courteous and did a great job. After going to a salon and always getting a bad hair cut I finally tried a barber and I got to say I love it. Also came out smelling like a man with the oils they use.

Great personable service from Nghia the (Vietnamese gentleman). You can tell he is dedicated to his profession and pays great attention to detail.
This was my first time but during the time I waited I can tell he has a strong following with his regulars for quite some time now and recalls previous conversations from previous visits.
I will definitely be coming back! Cam ong Chu Nghia!

I think I just found my new barber! Best hair cut I’ve ever had. I asked for a Daniel Craig «007» look, and it was spot on. I can’t wait to go back. Thanks, Nghia.

This place has a great location for those of us in the NW. It’s nestled in a strip mall that includes two beauty parlors, a decent liquor/​wine store, and a HEB so if you get drug by your lady on a shopping/​beauty excursion, you can dip into this place… except this sounds too unplanned, because it is. You need to make an appointment. I’m used to getting my hair cut on base where you walk in, get your hair cut, and walk out for under $ 20. My same hair cut cost $ 24; it was only a crew cut and they didn’t use a razor on the sides, plus I was turned away because I didn’t have an appointment. The hair cut was decent, but the price and wait made the experience soggy.
The owner had a shop out of the Quantico area for more than 20 years, where I was last stationed, so we had a decent conversation. His wife was nice and providing a face shave service, which is nice to see true barber skills. The building is really nice and comfortable as well. I just don’t like paying that much or waiting so long or having to make an appointment for a haircut. I get it if I wanted a shave or something terribly involved like a fancy styling… IT WAS A BUZZ CUT!

Made an appointment to get a haircut and straight-​razor shave before my wedding, and was skeptical of how it would go. It had been quite a while since I had been to a real «barber», and I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience.
After a nice cup of coffee and chat with the barber (can’t remember his name to save my life, but he was great), he started on my haircut. I keep my hair pretty simple and short, so having someone pay attention to what they are doing and taking more than 2 minutes was nice. After the haircut was finished he started on the straight-​razor shave. I’ve only had this done a couple of times, and this was by far the most pleasant experience I have had. The entire process was painless and relaxing, the extra lotion and aftershave was a nice touch. The shampoo and neck clean-​up was the finishing touch, and I was in and out in less than an hour and a half.
This is a really great establishment, and I would highly recommend it. Enjoyed the service, conversation with the barber, and extra care they put into their work. Well worth $ 50, and I will definitely be back the next time I am in town.

Fantastic barber! I have been going to them since before they opened. They are actual class A barbers and know what they are doing. The shop is very clean, they are extremely friendly and will not sacrifice on quality. Make an appointment — you will not be disappointed!

When you find an actual Barber… you stick with him. Especially when that Barber offers hospitality and excellent service then delivers consistent results.

3. Great conversation with owners, shampoo and clean up.
4. Anticipate next hair cut.
You will not have to find another barber, this will be your new home.
