The Emergency Clinic Alamo Heights

The nurse was great today and made me feel super safe due to a needle phobia, but one of the guys at the front desk was very unkind. I understand that they may have a stressful job and have to deal with tons of people, but I was the only one in the office and he was just straight up rude. He commented on how I spelled my last name wrong. He had my ID there he could have just checked the spelling of my name and there was no point in commenting on my handwriting when I already feel terrible. Honestly, when they were still on Broadway I felt a little more at home and well taken care of, and while the doctor was great as well, it felt very rushed and I felt I couldn’t explain everything going on.
Very quick service overall and I would still recommend it to anyone!

I have been coming here for the last 8 years. The new location is extremely nice and Dr. Magoon has become my primary Doctor. They not only are the most knowledgable around but they even follow up with you a couple days after to see how you’re doing. The whole office is a wealth of know she and I’d give them 6 stars if I could. You can even check in online and it gives you an estimated wait time. This way if the line is long you already have a reserved spot. It’s no wonder why people come from near and far to go here because it’s worth it.

Fast service! Went in for a possible broken toe, however, we were in and out in less than 25 minutes. The clinic was very clean and not overcrowded at all. They were able to take X-​Rays, but no MRI’s. We got a sticker, lollipop, and a bag with a water bottle and a band-​aid dispenser. Paying out of pocket? Bills don’t run over 500 dollars. The clinic takes a variety of insurances. The front office was friendly and very helpful. Nursing staff and doctor at the time of visit were informative. They provided prescriptions and doctor referrals for follow-​up.

I had a great experience at this clinic! First of all, they are open 24 hours, which is extremely convenient. The website is consistently updated with the approximate wait time, and you are able to reserve a spot ahead of time so you can show up and be seen immediately. The staff and doctor were all extremely professional and caring. They made me feel at ease, and I am typically nervous at doctor appointments, so that is saying something. I was in and out within 45 minutes, treatment and wait time included. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs urgent care! It costs more than a regular office visit (of course, because it is a standalone emergency facility) but it was well worth the money in my opinion!

Must say the best Doctor visit I ever had! Staff was really nice and the Doctor was amazing! She was nice and very thorough. I actually don’t live in San Antonio just here for work and got sick so I was worried about where to go not knowing the area but Unilocal had good reviews so I tried it out. Wish my primary was as good as this place!
Oh one more thing, I walk out to leave and all the staff said I hope you feel better soon bye! Who does that anymore!

I was feeling crappy and decided to go to AH Clinic because I had heard great things. I went right when it opened, I was third in line (people were already waiting when they opened at 9 am), and I was in and out within an hour. The doctor I saw was great and personable and efficient. Note that they do NOT call in your Rx for you, they give you script sheets to take to the pharmacy. Minus one star for spelling my name wrong– but mistakes happen. Overall good experience; I would definitely return.

I certainly love the Unilocal add!!! With that being said the nice courteous staff from the sign in to the nurse I had, to the X-​ray tech, from Stephen Clare, FNP-​C and his caring and attentive bed side manner! I felt really bad but did not how bad I was and the FNP-​C Stephen Clare was a blessing!!! All his staff was awesome the wait was not at all that long considering I would have had to drive wait and see if they could work me in at my primary care physician in Hondo, Tx! I they are up lifting and positive and I even heard one of the doctors call a patient to check on him from a previous day! This clinic and its go workers know the real meaning of teamwork and have each others backs for checks and balances, as we all need an extra pair of eyes sometimes! Iv always been for good customer service and now as I work more in it and speak to rude, egotistical people on a daily basis i really look at customer service more and could grab them and grade or critique those with out people skills! I honestly had a wonderful and grateful experience and could have ended up in hospital as I had Bronchitis and walking pneumonia. Gods blessings and a positive note for the work Gods people provide! Nice to focus on the positive than all the negativity in the world!

Online check-​ins bump walk-​ins waiting 3 hours. We waited 3 hours and saw people walking in and getting treatef immediately. When I inquired about this I was told that online check-​ins get priority. So… I sat here for 3 hrs when I could have checked in at home and been seen the second I walked in? Yes, I was told. No apologies. Really poor idea. Eldetly people were waiting even longer than we were. Good way to have a waiting room full of pissed-​off people.

An amazing team of caring medical professionals! Whether you are visiting for a severe sore throat or multiple broken bones… they are amazing.

I hate giving them 5 stars because I feel like it’s one of our city’s best kept medical secrets. AH Minor Emergency is the best, I mean best, small business in San Antonio. Drs. Magoon and Guillory know their stuff, see you quickly, and really spend time talking to you and diagnosing you properly. I can’t say enough good things about the 6 or 7 experiences I’ve had with their office.
Helpful hint: print off your paperwork online ahead of time to cut a couple minutes off your wait time. I wish there were more doctors like Magoon and Guillory.

Wound up getting a terrible sinus infection and dropped in for a visit … Walk in basis… but my doc couldn’t see me til monday. There was a little wait but they told me ahead of time. The doctor and staff here are outstanding and thorough. doc was proactive in testing for other possible diagnosis before settling on exactly mine. They were quick, the staff was friendly, caring and compassionate. I definitely will be back next time I’m under the weather.

I have been to this clinic a number of times over the years and am finally getting around to writing a review. I really love this minor emergency clinic! The doctors and staff are always friendly, professional and efficient! Even when the waiting room is crowded, I have never had to wait more than 45 minutes to see the doctor.
When you talk to the doctors, they really take the time to listen to you. I especially like seeing Dr. Guillory because it is so comfortable to talk to him! (it doesn’t hurt that he is ‘easy on the eyes’ as well). The doctors will explain the medication that they prescribe, and will do everything they can to make you feel better. I always walk out of the office feeling good about the diagnosis and the course of treatment prescribed.
The office has just about anything needed for minor emergency care including x-​ray machines and nebulizers! They have a nice, comfortable facility in a very convenient location (on broadway near UIW). Their hours are decent — evenings during the week and ½ day on Saturday.
I will always choose to go here when I can’t get to my Primary doctor!

I have been here twice since i have lived in San Antonio and both times I have been happy with the care I received.
The doctors and staff made me feel very comfortable while I was there especially because I was in pain and by myself.
However, I do agree with the review from Gloria, they do make you fill out the paper work every time and sometimes its hard depending on what your there for.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is in need of emergency care.

Admittedly, I use these guys as my primary care physicians. My mother would die if she knew I had been living in SA so long without a primary care doc– oh the horror!
With insurance, it costs me $ 40 for a visit and it is always a pleasant experience (minus the whole being sick thing).
I find it hard to believe it doesn’t have more reviews since it is always pretty crowded when I go, and I usually wait 45 minutes to be seen. The one thing I dislike is that I have to fill out the paperwork EVERY time I go. Come on, guys! Don’t you know your my primary care physician??? You should have this info already…
Both doctors are nice guys, with charming bedside manner, all while managing supreme efficiency. Once you get to see one of the doctors, you will be out in less time than you actually spent in the waiting room.
Basically, you don’t feel like you are at an emergency clinic when you’re here. In my opinion, it should be anyone’s first choice for emergency health care (or anytime health care, really) in the 09 area.
