The Club at Sonterra

Food here is maybe 1.5 stars. Service and ambience are 4 stars. I came for a retirement dinner party on a Friday night. The party rooms seemed packed, with multiple functions going on but there was still a lot of parking. I really wish the trees had lights or something. It was very dark wandering around, looking for parking.
The tables were already set when we arrived. Everything was nice and clean. The waiters were attentive despite the size of the party (40 – 50 people).
All the food was incredibly bland, like airplane food. We were given crackers with butter and tiny rolls (plain, rye and multi grain) to start. I wish we had more butter for the rolls. They were really cute and tasty. We were served a spinach and strawberry salad with goat cheese to start. This was probably my favorite part of the meal. It was pretty average but I like spinach and strawberries. Then we had a baked chicken and fish with creamy Alfredo pasta. I wonder why chicken and fish but maybe that was to satisfy everyone. This was exceptionally bland. A couple we were sitting with requested vegetarian dishes and they accommodated by quickly whipping up a simple vegetable pasta. The vegetables looked very fresh but our vegetarian friends thought the chef forgot to season. Actually I think the chef forgot to season everything else. I dumped a bunch of salt and pepper on my entrée. For dessert, there was a very dense key lime pie with what everyone thought was cool whip and a tiny sliver of marbled cheesecake. Dessert was really decadent and tasted very generic. My friend commented that she was full but unsatisfied, echoing my thoughts on the dinner.
Overall, horrendous food, good service, and nice location. I would not pay to eat here though.

I went to taste if north side here. It was very beautiful grounds, houses, and facilities. Would be great for a wedding.

The food really sux here but we r members for some reason so need to get our monies worth! I like the social scene here better then the food it really sux for a country club! Do I have to put any stars!!! I guess I just like the free popcorn! :(

I’m part of a networking group that meets at The Club at Sonterra every week for lunch and bonding. My group rocks and I would willingly follow them anywhere… well mostly anywhere.
Sonterra is A-​ok. The grounds are well manicured and the common spaces clean. The food is lacking. I’ve been served some of the most unappetizing dishes here. For the buffet I usually stick to the salad and they have to special order me gluten free food since the chefs here put gluten in everything. Dry chicken, unimaginative fare. Shrug. At least I don’t have to pay for it.
