Purchased a 2 hour kayak tour of downtown San Antonio through Groupon. Although the day was beautiful, the others on the trip were fun and the equipment was decent, I can’t get past the fact that our guide (owner of this establishment) griped and complained about the fact that she is losing money because we purchased through Groupon. Not exactly the kind of welcome we were looking for. She alone made us think that the money we spent (even at a discount) was a waste. I won’t be going back!

My family and I kayaked with Stacey and her crew at the Mission Reach section of the SA River. We had a blast!!! Stacey was very informative about kayaking in general and the area specifically. I never once heard her bash ANYONE, men or women, and it seems very suspicious that the reviews claiming such were posted within hours of each other. How petty and disgraceful that some people would gang up and bully someone so kind, professional, ecologically and community minded. There’s a reason Texas Pack and Paddle has been featured in so many local and state-​wide publications.

I highly recommend! I recently did the King William tour with Stacey. She is very experienced and knowledgable about the history, structures, and wildlife of the area. It was very relaxing. As a beginner, I felt wlecomed. Stacey was very patient and allowed us our full time to enjoy the experience. I am planning on returning.

My husband, daughter and I took a kayaking trip down the San Marcos river today. The trip was well organized and the guide (Stacy) was highly competent and knew what she was doing! She was very accommodating, taking lots of pictures of the group (which she posted just an hour or so after the tour ended) and providing water and snacks along the way. Highly recommend Stacy and Texas Pack and Paddle to anyone interested in kayaking down one of our local rivers.

Bought a Groupon (or was it Living Social?) deal for Texas Pack & Paddle.
Booked a 4-​hour session on a Saturday morning along the Guadalupe River.
The group was comprised of less then 10 people, with half of them having prior kayak experience.
Well…the group I came with had no kayak experiences but Stacey and the others were very accommodating. They gave us tips and guided us through the small (yet adrenaline rushing) rapids along the Guadalupe.
By the end of the session, I was exhausted (and sun burned).
Overall, great experience. Stacey Banta is a top notch guide. Highly recommended.

I bought the Living Social Deal on this one for 6 of us. I had never been Kayaking so I was really excited. I have to say we had a blast! The guide was great, the pace was great for beginners and advanced. (No rapids to be worried about). Other than a serious upper body workout it was relaxing and fun. The hardest part was the final leg. trying to maneuver through all the tubers without hitting them in the head with your paddle and/​or your kayak. Luckily by the time you get to that point you’re hopefully pretty good at maneuvering your vessel. ha. Definitely a recommended excursion for friends and/​or family alike.
