First and foremost it is an extended stay. You are looking at this location typically because you need to stay somewhere for a longer period of time and don’t want to broke doing so. Tom is the GM here and we actually met him 2 weeks prior to checking in when we were in town house shopping and wanted to look at one of the rooms before booking. He immediately and graciously obliged. The rooms were just renovated and looked new and up to date. NOCARPET!!! The worst thing about hotels is that the carpet soaks in that nasty, musty smell and thankfully you avoid this so much more with the new laminate flooring. My husband, myself and our 6 month old decided to stay here for a few weeks while we waited patiently to close on a house due to relocation. We call it the«tiny home test» and thankfully didn’t kill each other! The front desk staff was always helpful and courteous. Cleaning happens once a week and towel/trash day on another day during the week, however if you have a dirty towel and housekeeping is outside they will gladly exchange with you. Overall, after staying here 17 days and still able to leave happy and happily married I think they did a fantastic job!

I picked Studio 6 because 1) we were to PCS rather quickly from Missouri and in the midst of packing/moving, I just wanted a cheap extended stay 2) I am ridiculously frugal 3) I decided to take a chance on it because I forgot to read reviews on several websites like Unilocal and TripAdvisor :(they were all similar to my experience if not worse Pros: It was cheap($ 37/night) Cons: You get what you pay for, i.e.: — Dirty, dilapidated, questionably cleaned carpet –Oil stains on drapes — Light next to front door(the very first light you turn on!) and bathroom fan doesn’t work — Clogged bath tub drain(because I love having previous guests’ hair and crap plug the drain and shower ankle-deep grimey water) — Very thin walls — Cigarette butts and smell in the non-smoking area, as well as in our own room — A shoe was left behind in the foldable luggage stand… so I guess no, no one checked this room? — General smell of neglect and regret After 12 hours of driving south, I just wanted to take a shower and crash in the bed. After seeing the room, I immediately stopped wanting those things. It was just so disgusting, so much that we immediately packed up our belongings that we brought into the room and left to find a quality hotel. HOWEVER, LITERALLYEVERYSINGLEHOTEL(of good repute and in the Medical Center) on that Saturday night was booked. Sold out completely. Zero rooms available. La Quinta’s parking lot was packed. Marriott had just sold the last of their rooms a few hours ago for $ 300, according to the front desk. Holiday Inn did as well; I asked if there was a conference, but the front desk said it was because it was summer and the weekend. So it was late, we were tired and sweaty and sleepy, and we crawled back to Studio 6 with our tail between our legs. We put our own blanket down on the bed so we didn’t actually have to lay on a questionably cleaned bed in a questionably cleaned room. Tomorrow we will cancel our reservation here and find a better hotel. Lesson learned.

It gets 2 stars solely for the cost. It was cheap, but you get what you pay for. My room stunk when i walked in… I had to buy an air freshener. The microwave was very small and weak. There were dishes, but they were dirty. The whole room just gave off a dirty vibe. The tv was an old tube type and there werent many channels. The room does have a full size fridge though. They also dont even have free wifi: they charge $ 4.95 to access it. If i was to do it again, it pay a little more and go somewhere else.

I came to UTHSC for a week long course & this is the place they had set us up to stay. It was very cost effective ~$ 250/week with tax and such. However, it was not very nice… you definitely pay for what you get. For example, there was a burn hole in the blanket on my bed, the room was musty smelling, everything was very outdated, the bed felt like it was made of plywood, weak water pressure, you have to do some craziness with the door to get out because the dead bolt won’t stay retracted so you can shut it, there is no work out facility, I could go on… I gave it 2 stars because of it’s proximity to the school — nice you can walk and there are a lot of food options around — and it’s cheap. But keep in mind, you can tell it’s cheap in the rooms…
