Oh where do I start. I love this place. I order the Pad Woo Sen every time because once you have found perfection why change. I crave this dish and literally could eat it every day. I order the extra spicy and its nirvana on a plate. Great prices. Service is so so but when you have food this good you can look past those little things. Highly recommend but don’t go in a large group it’s a smaller restaurant and seating is limited.

only gave a one star because there wasn’t a NO star option. I ordered the ribs… very bland, seasoning(where?), and dry! Also, not even a hint of ginger flavor in the spicy ginger entrée I ordered. It was takeout and by the time I got home, it was too late to turn around and request an in person refund, at least on the ribs, so I called and stated that I’d be back the next day WITH the ribs for a refund. A manager stated«we no give refunds». So, on top of a crappy meal, poor customer service! What place doesn’t offer a customer a full refund on poor quality food? I took only one bite of those ribs before deciding they were deciding they weren’t worth a second bite but no refund? I don’t get all the great reviews. The entrée was bland, without a hint of ginger and the ribs were dry, unseasoned. I will never visit again and will be sure to tell my friends to follow suit.

I love this place. Food is always freshly made, good service, drive thru or dine in. My favorites are chicken pad Thai, Vietnamese bowl with shrimp, orange and sesame chicken, pretty much everything!

Every time I order food here, I absolutely enjoy it. It’s authentic. I’ve been coming here since it opened, and I will continue. The drive thru is a bonus. Great study spot and zen. Nice music, down to earth service. Oh, and did I mention large portions?

We’ve tried it a few times and it’s ok. We went once and it was freezing cold, we ate with our jackets on. Food got cold fast. Next time we went they rearranged the restaurant and it was better. Service is ok and the food was ok as well. We are now venturing out to look for a better 0lace to eat Thai.

Spicy Ginger in name only! My wife and I were looking to try a new Asian restaurant, which we do regularly. She is Vietnamese. Thus, I eat a great deal of Asian cuisine. I ordered their Spicy Ginger Broccoli with chicken as the protein. While I did not expect the quality I would get at home, I did expect a certain flavor profile, that of ginger. I was very disappointed to find that there was zero flavor of ginger, and I was told it was just the name, which to me should be considered false advertising. The only thing the dish tasted of was chicken broth zealously thickened with corn starch. My wife’s pad woon sen was also disappointing. Again, it was very bland. While«Spicy Ginger» restaurant is using decent quality produce and protein, it would behoove of them to work on actually adding real ginger to their dishes with the word«ginger» in them. In general, they need to revisit their recipes and work on adding much more flavor to their dishes. Corn starch should be avoided when ever possible!

Very solid Thai food. We ordered the Panang Curry(tofu), Tom Kha Gai(chicken), and the Pad Thai(chicken). I really enjoyed the heat from the Panang Curry and the veggie/tofu ratio. Some places give you too much of one or the other. I have high expectations for Tom Kha Gai, and this was a solid iteration. A smidge too gingery for my taste, but I don’t care for ginger. There was enough coconut milk in the broth and good flavor. The Pad Thai was also very solid. They gave us lemons not limes, which I thought was odd. But it wasn’t overly sweet and the noodles were cooked well. This will be our go-to Thai place when we’re in town.

We’ve dined in a couple times and carried out a couple times. The service is solidly above average to great. The food is varied, nicely seasoned, and very good. Just a nice, dependable, dinner for when you don’t want to cook.

I had the General tso chicken. I should have known it wasn’t going to be all that great from a place that’s «Asian fusion». But they have a drive they so I gave it a shot. The chicken is fried«strips» not the traditional chicken pieces which was a bummer. Second the sauce is too tangy and lastly it’s drenched in the sauce. Swimming in the sauce instead of nicely coated. I’ll stick to the more exotic dishes when coming here for now on.

Food did not thrill me. Panda Express taste better than this place. Pad Thai fell short on flavor… Did not wow me; not memorable. Soup. Yuck. Orange Chicken nothing special. What can I say??? I will not be a return customer. We used their drive– thru service and spent $ 80(we were visiting family in San Antonio). ***Can someone say«Where is the nearest Pei Wei?»

Worst Asian food I’ve ever had. Thought I might’ve got them on a bad day, so came back and tried a second time. Sorry the food is tasteless and not edible. The noodles they gave me were totally bland, no flavor and were in a puddle of some bland liquid? I would steer clear of this place. The quantity of the food is generous but that’s no good when I can’t eat any of it.

If you like paying a lot of money for bland food then this is the spot for you! Ordered the ginger broccoli shrimp. Absolutely no ginger flavor. The dish was soupy and the«broth» tasted like thickened chicken stock(oddly enough because it’s suppose to be a vegetarian based dish). We all got extremely full rather quickly so I wouldn’t be surprised if they add msg to the dishes. The cream cheese puffs were a joke. There was barely any cream cheese in them, at all. A more appropriate name would be fried wonton skin. My husbands dish was beef something or other. The beef was extremely overcooked my bottomless pit of a 7year old wouldn’t even eat it because it wasn’t right. And they have noodle dishes but I couldn’t substitute noodles for an up-charge. I should have walked out right then. I hope this saves someone $ 50! Because that’s how much we spent and we chose this place based on reviews.

I’ve tried it on several occasions, yet I still cannot seem to get it right. I read the reviews… I see the food that others order… it all seems so good. Then it’s my turn to pick something out… I decide on something different… it arrives… I leave feeling like I was cheated. Not Spicy’s fault, I just can’t seem to get the right thing at the right time. I do love spicy food and I have to say, HANDSDOWN, this is the hottest Hot and Sour soup ever! So good the first few spoonfuls then the heat… tears! Yikes! Tip: they do tend to cater to the drive thru customers over dine-in, so expect a lengthy wait. Prices are about what you expect. They(or perhaps I) have strange hours… they close between I believe 3−5pm, so check the website for open hours. I’ve been caught in «No Man’s Land» several times as a result of these hours.

I could eat this Thai food every day of the week. The panang curry is great. They aren’t stingy with the chicken or the peppers either. My other go to is the pad thai. Not too tangy but plenty of flavor. The fried rice is really good too. The only knock is that it has slightly odd hours and if you eat there when it’s busy, it can be a wait to get your food. They offer drive thru and take out as well. This is my go-to Thai place in the Helotes area.

Not a bad«Mom & Pop» choice in a «sea of chains» neighborhood. I’m always weary when I open a menu and see every Asian country’s cuisine offered. Not very authentic… quite super honky, actually… not an Asian to be found eating or cooking there. But, the food wasn’t bad… Our server was lovely and very attentive. The joint is very casual… you walk in, pick your table, see the kitchen along the back wall, order from your server. Oh — there’s also a drive thru if that suits your fancy/time. The crispy house spring rolls were pretty tasty… pork and turkey mostly with some veggies. They were quite ambitious and offer an orange-ish dipping sauce with it that we didn’t care for. I’d rather buy the usual spring roll dipping sauce from an Asian market and eat that, but, kudos for creativity! I was torn between a few dishes, but bowed to our server’s recommendation of Singapore Rice Noodles. I chose tofu as my protein(other choices: chicken, beef, and shrimp) and the noodles had cabbage, carrots, celery, bell peppers, and other good stuff in there. Pretty solid, but, there was something off about the yellow curry sauce. I ate it, but, didn’t feel the need to box and take the rest home. I had a taste of the Stir Fried Beef with Asparagus and Mushrooms… the beef was tender and ooey-gooey in a good way(although we did joke that it’s prob overly processed and out of a frozen package). The Thai Spicy Chicken Basil was also ok and the chicken had the same ooey-gooeyness to it. Not bad, but, I maintain that If I’m going to eat«Asian» in this area… that chain Pei Wei does magic with a wok, I tell you!

When you drive up(for drive thru service) you may, or may not, get a raging biznatch over the speaker. ‘WHA? I CAN’T HEARYOU!” Three times yelling«is your shrimp crispy on the Vietnamese bowl!!!» finally got me a «NO! IT’S STIRFRY!» My «do you have sweet tea,» was met with a firm, short, «No.» Okay… water it is. I stewed for the just over 5 minutes while I waited in the line, but when I got to the window, I was met with a smile. She really was just very busy. I appreciated how they explained on paper at the window that all their sauce was made on site, and therefore cost you a tiny cent extra. Hot Mustard, please for twentyfive cent! I was very excited. I ordered the Vietnamese(Bun) Bowl, with chicken… as the shrimp was very clearly NOTCRIPSY! It came with a vinegar sauce and my yummy, albeit runny hot mustard. Perhaps I have been eating thick crappy hot mustard for years? The portion was out of control, but I ate it all anyway. Except the last few cucumbers… jeez, I’m stuffed. It was hot, perfectly cooked, perfectly mixed, and I could not be more pleased with my new find. BUNBOWLSFOREVERYONE! Bonus: She did not charge me the twentyfive cent for hot mustard. TIP: Check out the lunch menu — the options for each day looked appealing(two per), I just really had my heart set on a bun bowl.

«Spicy Ginger» sounds like a better name for a red-headed stripper than for a restaurant. But as it turns out, this is a solid, consistent Thai place that happens to be very convenient to my house. They have wide menu, so everyone is certain to find something they like. This is the only Thai restaurant I know that actually quantifies levels of spice on their menu. For example, «mild» has a quarter teaspoon of Thai chili powder, while«extra spicy» has a full teaspoon. Most places ask you to give them a number and hope for the best. I’ve tried several dishes here and enjoyed them all. I’m a particular fan of the green curry bowl. They also have nice lunch specials Monday through Saturday. Check ‘em out!
