Rolling Oaks Mall

This is a poorly designed mall. They only have one set of restrooms on the upper level. There are two sets of stairs on opposite ends of the mall. I don’t understand why they don’t have more stairs and restrooms. If someone wants to use the restroom, they have to walk all the way to the end of the mall and go upstairs. Everything should be more accessible.

I have always really liked this mall… mostly because the stores are great but also bc it tends to be less crowded. I can always get a good parking spot close to the store, get inside safely, get all my shopping done in a timely manner and leave without too much hassle.
The stores i love the most are Dillards, Charlottd Russe, Macys, Victorias Secret, New York & Co., Marble Slab Creamery, Sears, & Claires. There is also a nice food court to enjoy.
There are lots of kiosks in the center. (You know what tney say .don’t engage & they“ll leave you alone. Just be polite but firm. Always show people respect. Everyones just trying to earn a living. Never had any problem.)
Park & Rixe & VIA bus service available. People are nice here.
I really like this mall & will absolutly continue to shop here for years to come.

This mall might be the worst mall I’ve got ever been to. Sad selection of stores and your car will probably be broken into by the clientele this mall attracts.

Best mall to shop at during the holidays, hands down! Located on the Northeast side of town, between 1604 and Nacogdoches Rd. May be a little out of the way for some people but you get your shopping done quicker than you can light a match, lol. If your an out of towner you’ll quickly find all your needs fulfilled here. If you want to skip the holiday lines come here. They have all the essential stores but a little bit for every type of taste and a little more variety. There is a Macy’s, Dillard’s, JCPenny’s, Sears, Express, Victoria’s Secret, Lane Bryant, A’gaci, Things Remembered, a food court and little kiosks spread out everywhere. Even the line to see Santa is shorter than usual! So come out and enjoy a less time consuming shopping experience with the same deals or better!

I love how they have all the necessity stores like VS, Zumiez, pac sun, Charlotte ruse, agaci, American eagle, and cotton on AND they aren’t far apart from each other… you don’t have to walk far. Plus because it’s not such a big mall their sales last a little longer and have better selection. Therefore I give this mall 5 stars (:

Yes I gave this mall a 5 star rating because it serves its purpose. Coming from a very small town we didn’t even have half the stores this mall has. We had to drive a couple of hours away or order online to shop so I’m extremely grateful for this mall. I also hate crowds and this is one of the only few places in San Antonio, I can go and not rub elbows with a ton of people. I like the play area and the food court is typical of what most malls offer. I say give it a shot and give the stores a chance. It is a great mall.

This place is a ghost town. Not clear why this mall is still open at all. It is anchored by a few generic chain stores (Dillards being the most prominent) and a few lower-​end stores, but the entire mall is typically vacant and the parking lot is used for Park & Ride events and Via.
On the few occasions I’ve shopped here, the food court is dirty, homeless bums are mixed in with the handful of normal shoppers here, stores are sad with minimal selection, and they rent out the adjacent conference space for more business than the entire mall generates for shopping.
Time to close up shop already.

I mean this place is still open? Why? Lol I just don’t get it a mall here on the NE side of town yet caters to nothing really. Best stores are Dillards, New York & Co, Express, Victoria Secret and that’s it! Usually you come here when Northstar and La Cantera don’t have what you need most of the times these places will have it due to low traffic. I would just think the management here would kick it up a notch and add some decent places. I mean this is the desperate mall you come to when you are in dire need an outfit last min and have NOTHING to wear, I mean NOTHING! Have you been to this mall lately? Aside from Marble Slab and Great American Cookie why would anyone come here! Just sayin’ :-)

Not the best mall but it’s close to home and has the necessary all in one place. Good for a quick drive to gather the essentials. Live Spencer’s and wet seal so I can’t really complain. Plus it has a sears, macys and an inflatable wonderland for my princess. Plus they made a little area where the kids can play that is near inflatable wonderland and in front of GNC. This area where the kids can play has charging stations so you can take your phone to get charged while the kids play.

Unless you’re going to one of the big department stores, don’t waste your time here. Between the department stores is a sad selection of locally owned businesses that don’t stand a chance mixed in with a few national chains (Hollister, Victoria’s Secret, etc). Also, the clientele this place attracts does not instill much faith in me for American society.

Need a good quiet place to shop? Here’s the mall for you! This mall seems to be oddly quiet even on the weekends! Everything you need is here though! It is kept very clean and neat and most store employees are very helpful and nice. The only thing is the variety of stores is kind of limited compared to other local malls but it gets the job done!

This mall is pretty basic. You have everything you really need from a mall, minus the glam and nicer restaurants.
I can’t tell if I like or dislike this mall. I enjoy a bustling scene of people everywhere, but when I come to this ghost town that is Rolling Oaks Mall and all the emptiness it poses, I appreciate the lack of running into other people and lack of screaming children. I also appreciate the proximity of this mall to my home. Just a 12 minute drive, versus thirty minutes to get to North Star Mall.
I don’t consider this my hang out spot, but I do come here when I need something. As another reviewers said, «it gets the job done.» Never had a bad experience here, other than being bored.

Got my second wrist tattoo at a store in this mall (xtreme tattoos & piercings). They did a great job. The clothing stores have a great variety and I like that there are plenty stores to choose from. So if you buy an outfit from one store and it doesn’t have the accessories you’re looking for, another store will. The food court has a good variety. Wish they had more bathroom locations though. The only one I could find is the one on the 2^nd floor in the food court. Not good for someone who drinks a lot of water like me.

Great place if you have kids! It’s air conditioned and not very busy at all! There’s a great inflatable place next to the food court and a nice play area. Not a great place to score the hottest trends clothes wise, but it’s a nice place to kill a few hours with the kids when it’s too hot to be outside.

If you want to get away from the chaos that is North Star Mall and La Cantera then come to Rolling Oaks. They have most major department stores and a lot of small mom and pop type shops. We walked in through Dillard’s and everyone we encountered was professional and didn’t hesitate to greet us with a smile and a warm hello.

Very small mall compared to all the others in town, but it does get what you need done. It’s clean and has not been run down which is a very good thing! Other than that it’s not much to complain about. Just make it work.

Not the best mall for all the «finer» stores, But… Very close parking, my feet don’t hurt afterwards, I can find stores I do like in like 60 seconds, and they are always having deals. I can buy much more here then I could at La Contera. If I want the better made things though, I don’t shop here. Over– all. I go there for less stress.

Not much selection here. It’s almost always empty whenever we go here — kinda like a ghost town. There are the typical stores like Express, Victoria’s Secret, Macy’s, Dillards, JCPenney. Food court is limited, but decent. You can pretty much stroll the entire mall in less than 30 minutes. I don’t really go here to shop, but if I do I like to stop by Agaci & Image for last minute, affordable outfits.

I like this mall, because it doesn’t have a bunch of people crammed into it like La Cantera and a lot of different shops offer decent customer service. I enjoy the shopping experience here.

It’s an ok mall with just enough of a selection of stores to make it worth a trip a couple times a year. The Forum probably has more variety of stores hence the reason why many people don’t come here. The food court is average. Chick-​fil-​A probably takes most of the business when it’s open. Store prices are a little on the high side even they offer discounts. There also seems to be a regular turnover of stores which leads me to think that business isn’t that good. The Verizon Kiosk is gone as well. The is good for a quick walk around during hot days. Stays pretty quiet during the week – summer or winter. Gets a little hectic during the Christmas holidays.

As a North East side resident, there are lots of trade offs, one of them being the retail scene. Rolling Oaks is the only true «mall» on this end of town since the crime infested Windsor Park Mall shutdown in 2005.
What’s most conspicuous is what isn’t here. No high end anchors. No home décor stores. No children’s clothing stores. And no Gap. How is that even possible to have a mall without a Gap?
You can also see some of the desperation by who is here. You will be accosted by cart vendors, survey takers, and free drawing scam artists. Some of the stores are filled with short-​term leases or flea-​market style operations. This is always the first step down the road of death for a mall and boy is it depressing to witness stage one unfolding before your eyes.
Ironically, all these things push you further away. If you live on the North East side, and you don’t want to (or don’t have the option to) go here, you have to drive all the way downtown or west past 281. San Marcos is a tantalizingly close and a viable alternative.
There is a HUGE market on this side of town and Rolling Oaks isn’t filling it.

Rolling Oaks Mall is a pretty standard place, but it definitely doesn’t have any sort of star power. It has your typical mall department stores, like Dillards and Sears, along with about 100 specialty shops. That being said, Rolling Oaks doesn’t really wow.
This mall is a good place to go if you are in the mood to shop, but the interior area for walking is actually quite small and you can see almost everything with just a few turns. There is a food court on the second floor and some unique features, like occasionally a bungee trampoline jump in the central area. This mall seems oddly smaller inside than it looks from the outside, maybe due to the white tent-​like roofing that soars upward.
If you live near Rolling Oaks, definitely hit it up for your basic retail needs. However, if it is a bit of a drive, pass it up for a more entertaining option.
