Renaissance At Canyon Springs

My family and I have lived at these apartments for several years, we have been here when the bank owned this property and went through several management companies who ran it horribly. I have complained to the BBB, had over 100 repairs to my past apartments, leaks and leaks, 600 + electricity bills due to faulty appliances, and also had the news reporters come to talk about our mail getting stolen from the mail boxes. Regardless of everything we stayed, hoping it would get better with every new management company. I probably could have sued them… And was really thinking about it, until Tray and Mike showed up. Finally a dream team that knows how to run a huge property like the Renaissance. Things have really done a 360 around here. When I have a maintenance issue it is fixed right away, when I need something they are always there to help with smiling faces. I am finally happy and not embarrassed to say we have signed another lease for a year to live here. Thank you Tray and Mike for your hard work and dedication to make your residents happy with the place they chose to call home! We really appreciate you!

I am African-​American and there’s a reason I’m saying that up front. Because when I walked into this so called apartment complex I simply stated I was interested in a two bedroom apartment. The «plus sized» woman with the desk up front told me they were currently out of availability so I parted ways. But as I walk towards the door I’m passed by a WHITE MAN who made the same request as me, and then was told they had not one BUT FIVE two bedroom apartments available.
If you are a person of color then I’d advise you to save your time and steer clear of this prejudice building.

When we first moved it, we signed out lease online with the old office team. After trying for 2 days to get through, the person we were working with just happened not to work there anymore, we asked if we could possibly get the keys a day early. They told her that it was fine. We arrived and they acted like they had no idea what we were talking about, then left us sitting here for 45 minutes waiting. We did not receive a gate clicker, told we were put on a waiting list (waited 3 months and the new team did get my husband and I one gate clicker), did not receive a sheet to write down anything we saw wrong with the apartment (Still haven’t received this and have now lived here for 6 months), and it took us nearly 2 hours to get our keys. After that point we had issues with kids not being watched, one night I had a kid throw firecrackers at my door, tried telling the old team this and they dismissed me.
Since the new team took over, I have been happy with the change. I had an issue with some older kids at the pool while with my 2 year old and it was addressed quickly. They had an Easter egg hunt last week, and other than the choice of jaw breakers and lemon heads for the 5 and under group, it was wonderful. My biggest complaint is the night maintenance/​Emergency Maintenance, somehow the main breaker was flipped, and he had my husband go out in the middle of the night to fix it because he was 45 minutes away.
With the apartment itself, it’s a great size, love our jetted tub (I’m 37 weeks pregnant so that is a big plus to me), and before my current neighbors moved in the only noise I had heard was garages opening. Since my new neighbors, they like to leave at all hours, slam their door loudly (Enough to make my walls shake) and we can hear them going up and down the stairs. Playground it great for older kids, a little too big for my 2 year old, and I wish there was more grassy areas to walk my dog, or let me daughter run.

UPDATE…
The Pinnacle Team are making great strides in addressing and eliminate issues inherited when they took over in November 2015. March brought great change. The Pinnacle team are working hard and their efforts are evident on a daily basis. Thank you to the leasing staff and the maintenance team… you are all AWESOME!!!

Still reside at residence. These apartment homes have huge floor plans, beautiful neighborhood and have an awesome school. (But) The old management team was uncooperative, rude and inconsiderate and they tend to lie to your face like it’s okay or you’re stupid, never putting the shoe on the other foot of what they’re doing to people and putting family through ! We have videos of what our apartment first look like and text messages from the management team Lacey, Britney and Kristen of all the lies they told to us. But if interested in living here talk to Tiffany awesome lady she should be management cause she gets stuff done. She can’t get everything done but she will try everything to get it done. Now back to it. We have an upgraded apartment supposedly and pay upgraded price $$$ too but it isnt an upgrade at all. We have seen the upgraded apartments. They showed us two homes before they moved us into a temporary apt because our apartment wasn’t ready because they still had people living in it. Then we got stuck in this big hassle and conflict. so decided to do this and possibly a LAWYER. The tile all over the apartment is coming up and the grout is coming out and stabbing us in the feet. We’ve even gone to the new management (Pinnacle) about getting our tile floors done but still waiting. Oh sorry. There is also mold coming out of the AC vents and wires that stick out of the wall. They expect us to clean all of this stuff they also told us to use bleach on it and the list goes on. The new team sent over a maintenance guy Dec. 19^th or 20^th. My wife waited all day for them and he never showed up. We called the office about it and they said the work order was completed. He lied. He said he had fixed our tile but never did and this is with new management. They haven’t called for an update to fix anything but call with complaints. The people that are complaining, most likely aren’t even on the lease cause there are too many people that live here that are not on the lease. Meanwhile, the parking is ridiculous. People park in the red zone and there also cars with no registration or inspection stickers on the property. There are people that have three or four cars but use their garages as storage but not a garage for their vehicles. Wonder why there’s no parking? We still live here and want to remain living here. We’ll see what happens cause after this review, we may we get mysterious complaints and get harassed or violations from management and staff .

Worst place to live ever in my life. Entrada Management ran the place and never fixed anything before you move in not after. Mold in apartments because they do not replace drywall after flooding. Toilets never work right and they flood over repeatedly as they never fixed. Illegal business practices by staff not giving credit to tenants and then charging them late fees and additional fees. I filed lawsuit against them for everything! Then they all the sudden changed management company. I had requested from June 2015 to November 2015 through 70 emails, telephone calls, and offices visits to no avail. DO NOT RENT THESE MOLD INFESTED APARTMENTS!

I signed my Lease on line and the move in date was for February 6^th, so I scheduled to have furniture delivered and took off that day. I got to complex at 9:00am to finalize paper work and get keys and was informed that move in time is after 4:00 pm. When I question the policy and requested to see the policy in their documentation Kristin then came clean and told me they ran into a problem with a water pipe in the wall of the shower had burst and had to have a plumber come out and he was not through and should be done by 4:00pm. Needless to say they did not get the shower repaired for 6 more days. Fortunately my lease at my old apartment did not end until February 15^th. I gave them a list of things that were not done prior to the move in and they have not been addressed as of today.
The fire alarm was beeping constantly in one of the bedrooms and I had just moved in less than a month, batteries should have been changed as part of the getting ready to rent, I put in a request for maintenance to come out and they called me 9 days later.
I put in my most recent request August 21^st, 2015, with the outside porch light and light on the side of garage are both out and need to be replaced it had not been addressed by September 21^st so I went to office and inquired and was told she would put in a request to get it done today. Needless to say it still has not been changed and today is November 6^th, 2015, they have given numerous excuses why it has not been done and the work order was closed as completed on October 28^th, 2015. I spoke with one of the leasing agents last week and she assured me it would be done this past week, the sad part about this place is they have the audacity to be offended because I told them they do not care about their Tenants or doing their job.
Your money will be better spent somewhere else where it will be appreciated.

Don’t do it. They are thieves!!! It’s not only the water bill, it’s your deposit as well. BEWARE!!! STAY AWAY, you will sleep better somewhere else.

I rented an apartment at Renaissance of Canyon Springs in November 2014 while we were building our house. I was quoted an amount over the phone but when I arrived to see the apartment later the same afternoon I was informed the apartment was just rented but they had another at a much higher price. My wife and I left and immediately contacted the Manager, Kristen since we were told no other applications were pending on the apartment. Kristen was willing to listen to what happened to us and assist on finding an amicable solution. She showed us an apartment that was available and at a price that was lower than originally quoted. We signed a short-​term lease and moved-​in.
After moving in we noticed water dripping from the AC overflow into our bathtub. After turning in a work order the maintenance technician apparently came to investigate and said everything was fine. Seven months later we still have the same issue. Additionally, since the overflow AC drain is continually dripping in the bathtub we are constantly battling mildew and mold issues.
Additionally, upon move-​in we attempted to obtain mail box keys for three weeks. Due to the mail boxes being robbed the leasing office was unable to issue keys. After the boxes were repaired I was issued keys but they didn’t work for my box. I had to make several stops to the office to get a correct set of keys so that I could check my mail. To ensure we received our mail we would camp-​out weekly waiting for the mailman.
A couple months after moving in my gate remote was deactivated. I was given a new remote and it worked for a month before it was deactivated. I made numerous attempts to get my gate remote programmed so that I could get into the apartment complex. I was able to get my gate remote programmed, after five months and my name in the call box, which hasn’t been in there since day one.
On June 19^th we submitted a work order online for nine items that are in need of repair in the apartment. Most are little but one was for the kitchen sink that wouldn’t drain. After leaving for a week vacation, I returned back to my apartment to a plugged sink and horrid smell. I had to fix the sink myself. We went to the office several times to check on status with no avail. I spoke with the Property Manager on June 29^th, resubmitted a work order for the nine items and was promised a technician would be at our apartment the next day. After a no-​show from the tech my Wife went to the office on the 1^st and was told a tech would be at the apartment the next day. Again, no-​show!
Today is July 5^th and I still have a list of items that have yet to be touched. One of the items is a bathtub that has drained slowly since day one. Now the condition has worsened to the point we are unable to shower in our own apartment due to the tub not draining at all. I went by the office this afternoon and was told I would need to wait 20-​minutes for the leasing agent to get back from showing an apartment so that he could address my concerns. After waiting he returned and contacted the maintenance technician that was on site today. I was ensured several times my tub would be fixed today. I left my cell number and asked he call me should there be any questions/​concerns, as we had plans today and didn’t have time to sit and wait for the technician to arrive. We came home this evening to the same scene as when we left this morning. A tub that is full of water and has been so for almost 48-​hours. Another day of no bathing!
It is extremely frustrating when you are charged for an apartment and you pay your rent on-​time and play by their rules yet when you submit a simple request to make your apartment livable you get the run-​around and lies.

Be forced to either double park or walk multiple units to get to your apartment. This is especially fun when you return from the grocery store.
— Ability to call and speak with someone in the leasing office. You will need to drive to the office and wait in line to speak with someone.
— Mail boxes are always being robbed.
— Amenities — we had the ability to use workout room, sauna and movie theater after hours. Now only the weight room is open.
— People put trash out at non-​designated times and animals get in the trash and scatter it around the property.
— Police are seen at an apartment on almost a daily basis.
I write this review not to vent but I wish I knew the extent of problems people had when they posted about the property. Most reviews I read prior to moving-​in were either vague or when I confronted the leasing staff they dismissed them by saying the previous owners didn’t take care of the issues and the new owners/​management is different. It appears the issues that plagued the property continue regardless of whom owns/​manages the property.

The people who run this place have no idea what they are doing. My family and I were looking at a 3 bedroom apartment here. The units they showed us were dirty and repairs had not been completed, at least I hope they planned to repair the obvious issues. We had a bad vibe about the place but the agent talked us into putting an application in. After calling several times on different days and not getting an anwser we sent a text to the agent. He called and told us everything was good but they couldn’t give us the green light to move in till we put a our 60 day notice. We asked if everything was in order because once we put our notice in our apartment could be rented out. He assured us everything was approved. We put our 60 day notice in and after a week of calling the Renaissance and getting no answer or call back, the agent finally calls and tells us are application was denied because of a late payment at our current apartment. I couldn’t believe it, our current apartment was already on the market. I have 4 kids and if it rented we were out of a home. I would highly recommend not even trying to do business with these idiots. Luckily my current complex lowered my rent and let us sign another lease since we lived here 3 years and only had a couple of late payments due to our pay schedule. Watch out these people will screw you before you even move in.

These are thieves with a license, we have been living here for 3 years paying $ 30.00 tops for water/​sewer but just recently these crooks starting to charge $ 325.00 for water service… this is ludicrous we ask our neighbors to see what could be wrong and indeed Renaissance At Canyon springs is charging other renters between $ 200.00 -$ 400.00 dollars for water/​sewer service (whatttt!!!). I have open an official complaint with BBB… DO NOT RENT HERE!!!

I actually had a pretty good experience here. I only stayed for 4 months because of job relocation. I didn’t get the upgrade because I thought the other model was nicer. They do enforce the no alcohol at the pool unlike any other place I have lived. Maintenance was always very friendly and quick to move on anything I needed. Kelsey was also very helpfully and a pleasure to deal with. However I think the other lady I dealt with a few times was name Laura and she should be avoided at all costs. She is a miserable very heavyset lady with lots of jewelry and sounds like her gullet is packed with eclairs at all times. She is a liar and your typical mean fat woman because she probably lives alone with a bunch of cats and hasn’t had a man touch her without money involved in years. I would rent here again if I ever wanted to live in San Antonio.

water leaks in 4 rooms of my apartment 6 work orders later it has not been fixed. The apartment is supposed to be upgraded. granite counter too is cracked (told me it was too expensive to fix), my rent 1800.00 a month. 3 bathrooms all toilets broken in some fashion (no flushing, having to hold handle) maintenance reports to office unrelated issues when entering your home. grounds are covered in dog poop, no dog areas for play. pool is dirty. gated community gates don’t work 80 percent of the time (I pay for 100%) also trash compacted breaks frequently trash is thrown in ground in front of compactor. there is only one trash collection area. why don’t I move? because after not repairing my apartment and requesting to move they want to charge until end if my lease in 2015. so my suggestion look for somewhere where elephants don’t live above you, maintenance does their job and only their job. The appliances are old. if you would like pictures of the un-​matching fixtures in the bathrooms the stained ceilings, etc… let me know I will post them. pictures don’t lie.
