Regal Cinemas Huebner Oaks 14 & RPX

1. They need new screens and won’t do anything about it until they rip. There is a hazy look to many of the screens and it becomes extremely distracting during nighttime scenes. This happened 3 times in a row.
2. Changing the price of a ticket to something that doesn’t round up to a quarter is simply stupid. I can’t think of another theater that does this. Charge either an even dollar amount or charge in quarter increments.

Went to see Revenant because we heard all of the fuss … C–
But we were sitting in the last row of room 13 and a very large man literally coughed the entire movie. Loud and aggressive. He left once but came right back and continues the barrage of coughing. Worse yet both he and his female companion were on three phone every 5 min without lowering the brightness. Many people complained and called there attention to it but it didn’t stop.
So… We left after 2 hours of boredom (sorry Leo but that was so boring. We even don’t care if you get the bad guy in the end
As we left I informed the manager on duty (Jan 23 around 9:00) that we left the movie early because of the couple upstairs and how bored we were… HE GAVE US 2 FREE PASSES for another movie. Wow !! Great customer service. A lovely touch .we will be back !!! Way to go !!

This place is horrible! Only 2 lines at the snack bar 20 people long each. Missing half the movie!

Huebner Oaks is really an awesome movie theatre. I say this because if you’re a big fan of a theatre that isn’t too packed with people and is pretty accommodating. You don’t have to worry about too many large crowds and it helps if you purchase your tickets on the fandango app. The parking is pretty well lit and I also really like how they have security at this theatre. The restrooms are clean and they are very large so there’s hardly any lines where you have to wait for a stall. I also really enjoy their concession options because they offer more than just typical popcorn or a hot dog. The staff is attentive I say this because my mom had to transfer over points to her regal card and the manager was able to help her with no problem. Also if you dislike a movie and need to make a switch or want your money back they are very accommodating as well. Overall I really enjoy this theatre and will definitely return!

Had a bad experience with a packed theater and limited seating available. My party had to split up, but we had already purchased a large popcorn and large drink. Concessions would only give us the small flimsy plastic tray and small water cup. Spoke to the manager, told him the situation, but he wouldn’t budge… stated he couldn’t do anything due to inventory. This was an opportunity for him to go out of his way (knowing the «rules») and provide exceptional customer service… instead, he did the exact opposite. Being a manager is more than just enforcing rules and counting the pennies… but not at this location.

Being from out of town and having gone to a couple of other theatres, this is worth my drive to come here. I came for a 735 pm movie and I didn’t have to worry about long lines, it was busy for a Friday but there also wasn’t a crazy long line to get in. Compared to the other theatres, I felt safer in the parking lot. The parking lot is well lit and plenty of parking. I didn’t have to worry about parking down the street or battle for parking spots some parking garage downtown. There’s definitely plenty of parking here. I will definitely come back here while I continue my visit in San Antonio, it definitely reminded me of San Diego theaters except the price was lower. I paid $ 8 for admission with a military discount vice California which is $ 11.00. The seats are not like the AMC Alamo, but that’s not an issue with me. Also like other movie theatres I didn’t have to pick a specific seat before entry, it is first cone first serve. I do recommend coming in 30 minutes before the movie starts because the concession lines were long, but that’s because there were families/​folks that failed to think about what they were going to order while in line and once they got to the cashier; they were still indecisive asking alot of questions, holding up the line, which was highly annoying.
The restrooms were clean and bright. And the theatre was clean when I first sat down, didn’t see any garbage. The staff was helpful and friendly. They do check your bags so just a heads up for all you food smugglers. For a Friday night, They had security there which was a bonus. They didn’t have the food service/​waitress and bar like the draft house does, but there are concession stands. This didn’t bother me since I am not a drinker anyways and I really don’t want to deal with waitresses at a movie theatre.
Great place to bring family or go out on a date. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from within a mile radius. I rather go here then downtown hands down.

The sorriest excuse for a theatre. 3D doesn’t work. RPX is some made up excuse to charge more. Popcorn sizes are half the size of anywhere else and cost twice as much. Staff is rude. Nothing positive to say. I guess you get what you deserve when you settle for the KMART of movie theaters. Here’s a thought — maybe Regal should do exactly like KMART and pack up a move out of town. Leave the movie business to the real theaters that have been doing it well in San Antonio for years. Run — don’t walk — to SANTIKOS!

It’s close to my house. It is usually not super busy and the staff is friendly.
I dropped by last night and the guy at the podium asked to look in my bag!!! I carry a super small that fits my phone and wallet only. I complied but what the heck! My friends were able to walk right in with Starbucks cups?!!

Place seems to be understaffed, prices are standard, And fairly priced. The floors are clean restrooms are nicely clean and kept up with. The parking lot is not as crowded as the Palladium or other major theaters. And of course this does not compare to the Palladium, but it is calmer, more quiet — and let’s not forget no refills, not like I need the additional refills./ calories.

Formerly a then state-​of-​the-​art 24-​screen AMC, what is now Regal Cinemas Huebner Oaks has stepped up to the plate, and rather confidently I might add. Though 10 screens down the theater’s right wing were scrapped in favor of an attached Altitude Trampoline Park, the entire property has undergone thorough refinishing with upgrades akin to what San Antonians have grown spoiled with by competing Santikos Theatres.
While not The Rim’s Palladium nor nowhere near as cool as Alamo Ranch’s upcoming CasaBlanca — what with 16 bowling lanes, multiple bars, in-​seat food service, etc. — Regal Huebner Oaks has quite a number of things working for it… just like when it was AMC 24, (1) crowds are unexplainably smaller here, making for a (2) calmer, cleaner environment; its (3) parking lot is massive and less contorted than Palladium’s; (4) ABUNDANT restaurants evenly covering ALL budgets are within 5 minutes; and (5) RPX, Regal’s take on the IMAX approach, is offered.

I’m a huge fan of Alamo so I’ve never really tried too many other theaters. But this theater is nice!
The prices are standardly pricey. The theater is clean. Screen is huge, audio is great. Drinks and popcorn are absurdly huge portions. Seats are comfortable and roomy. The service is alright, nothing special. Overall, I had a great movie experience and would definitely come back.

I havent been here since it was an AMC theater and that was a while ago. Its really nicely done on the inside, the theater seats are really comfortable and they have a variety of food items available.
The only negative would be that getting a popcorn and soda took over 30 minutes on a Sunday evening. Make sure to plan accordingly so you dont miss you show!

Came to see Jurassic World. Place seemed to be a bit under staffed at the ticket booth for a new movie to have come out. But overall clean environment and fast check out at consession.

Came here to San Antonio for business for two weeks and thus far this has been one of the better theaters I’ve been at over here. Came to see How to train your Dragon 2. Really liked this theater. Very nice vibe & very comfy seats.

The ticket prices are around market average — $ 0.25 more than Palladium IMAX and $ 0.75 more than Alamo Drafthouse for matinée shows and the same as Palladium and $ 0.50 more than Drafthouse for evening shows, respectfully.
The concessions are definitely cheaper than Palladium but they also have a more limited offering, all things considered. The kids working the concessions are probably high school seniors, but they move like senior citizens. They forget people have a show to attend and there’s always a «Supervisor» standing around watching them move like molasses instead of jumping on a register and moving the line.
Since this theater became a Regal theater (previously an AMC), it has become much nicer and cleaner. The seats are more comfortable and the video and audio systems are noticeably higher quality as well (with the exception of the smaller auditoriums which sound like they just have audio in the front… auditorium 8 I’m speaking about you).
Parking is never an issue and if you want to expedite your box office wait times, note that you can purchase tickets online or thru your phone via the Fandango app and you can use the kiosk right inside of the entrance of the theater to retrieve your tickets.

Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back. For those of us who have been around long enough, we remember the shock and awe of this theatre closing. Santikos, with all of its Greek mafia sounding self swept in and put Huebner Oaks out of biz within a year. So sad. This was the place you wanted to take the kids for kid movies, and to avoid the THRONGS on opening day. They also have pickles in the jar, not in a package. *drool*
Well, they are back open, albeit under the Regal franchise (v. AMC), and they have 1) kept up the cleanliness of the building and 2) dropped the prices a bit to be more competitive. «Okay kids, load up!»
Really, there are most times I would prefer to go to this theatre. The only times I choose otherwise are if I want a beer, real food, or an artsy film.
TIP: Go online and get your rewards card prior to your visit (make sure it’s active) and you can get cool things like free small popcorn, or $$ off a ticket.

I just love it when I go to the movies and no one is here.

My only complaint is that you pay up the — for snacks. Bottle water is $ 6.00 ouch!

An update: the theater, it’s restrooms and hallways are very clean. Whatever caused the awful smell has been taken care of. Staff very friendly. Only fair that I take them back to their deserved 4 stars.
Previous review: This is your standard movie theater with bucket-​sized sodas and marginally comfortable seats. We’ve seen two movies there over the past few weeks, and have had a standard movie-​going experience. What dropped this to two stars was our last visit, where the air handlers in the halls (not in the theater, thank heavens) were pumping out a definite smell of urine. Yetch. I mentioned it to a manager and he said, «Yes, we know,» like no big deal So — if you can hold your breath from when you walk in the front door until when you reach your theater, it’s not a bad place to spend a couple of hours.

I visited Regal Stadium 14 Rpx for the first time since it switched from an AMC to a Regal. This brought back a lot of memories from when I was a teenager and getting kicked out of the movie theater for talking during a movie when I was 15 ;)
Overall, the theater was clean, the bathrooms were wall taken care of, the employees were nice. But, it looked exactly the same as AMC did. I was hoping the interior would look somewhat different or the layout would be different, but it wasn’t. AMC was a great theater so it’s nice to see it looks exactly the same, but a change would’ve been nice.
Tuesdays they have $ 6 movies which we didn’t know prior to visiting, but those will probably be the busier days since tix are discounted.

They still honored my old free ticket voucher I earned from their rewards card AGES ago!!! With a smile no less!
It’s strange walking inside this theater — especially if you remember how it was set up when it was the old AMC Huebner Oaks 24. The smell from the tar in the parking lot is still fresh in the air when you come here in the middle of the day. The updates to the front area are nice but if you do happen to remember what it looked like before, when you step inside, you’ll see the right area completely closed off with a wall (with a couple of tables and chairs by it). The lobby is generally the same as before and the rest of the theaters are off in the left wing.
If you check out the left wing, in the area where the ‘second lobby’ used to be at now houses party rooms. The way I saw it decorated was in two seperate rooms (one side to show an example of a kids party and the other side as an example for adults). The rooms were seperated by a divider (lending itself to more people to a party if needed).
The chairs were comfy but I didn’t like that you couldn’t pull the arm rests up like you could before. Sucks if there’s no one really around you and you just wanna relax a bit instead of being constricted within your seat by the arm rests.
The sound was exceptional and the screen was clear. The prices are pretty much the way they were when they sold first run movies at the nearby Fiesta 16.
