Powerstroke Towing

Found this place on Unilocal after I tried calling other places that gave me two hour waits. Don got here in 15 minutes and was extremely professional and friendly. Will be using Powerstroke from now on.

This company was very quick to respond and dispatch someone out. Only deducting one star for the driver who I didn’t really care for as his driving was a bit on the wild side.
Would definitely use again, but request a different driver.

Blew a tire on 281 in morning traffic. Called Powerstroke and they were courteous, fast, and had excellent communication. Both the dispatcher and the driver were kind and professional. But, above all, that they were concerned for my safety on the very narrow shoulder is what I think customer service is all about. Particularly, they didn’t make me stand out along the busy highway dealing with payment. Made the payment once I got to a safe location, and for that, I (and my family who likes to keep me around) are thankful.

Once again I became stranded out in the woods with my dogs and Jeep stuck in a gully. I called Powerstroke Towing. Kelli answered the phone and reassured me that everything would be OK. I had been trying to free myself for 3 hours and was nearly dehydrated. Fifteen minutes later my Prince Charming arrived, aka Black Cowboy, aka Rebel, aka Dave Chapelle. He was professional and knew exactly what he was doing. He pulled my beloved Jeep out of the gully, gave my battery a jump and followed me home so that I would be safe. This company is reliable and lifesaving.
I highly recommend Powerstroke Towing. This is an actual customer review. Please do not delete it.

Had a blowout on 1604 the driver called me right away to let me know he was on his way. He towed my Land Rover to my house & helped my husband change the tire. Great Service! Thank you!

I am new to town and needed to inquire about towing services, and this was the first place to pop up when I searched. I called at 10:45 when they close at 11:00. The gentleman answered the phone, but when I explained my situation he told me very rudely they were closed and immediately hung up the phone before I could even respond. They obviously don’t value customer service.

Called Thursday morning and spoke to Ray who I thought scheduled me on the canvas for a 7 o’clock pick up on Friday morning. 7 o’clock came and went on Friday so I called, found out that dumb ass Ray never put me on the pick up schedule. I wanted to get my car to the shop by 8, that didn’t happen.
I reluctantly gave them another chance, this time Rob assured me a pick on the canvas. Dave the driver showed up and got my car going. Thankfully the car made it there without any issues.

Very disappointed with this towing service. My 19 year old’s car died at a gas station during his lunch hour. I called this company and was told the driver would be 45 minutes, which would have gotten my son back to work for a few hours before his shift ended. An hour and a half later the tow truck still hadn’t arrived. I called and was told it would be another 45 minutes. After asking around on Facebook I called Richard’s towing. They were very friendly on the phone (unlike the operator with this company) and arrived within the time window they quoted. My son missed half a days work thanks to this company’s misleading time estimates. A simple call to update us on a possible delay would have been greatly appreciated.

I’m used to waiting for HOURS for a tow truck to arrive, to the point where you just forget about the service, keep your cell phone nearby when they call. I’ve had an unfortunate string of luck with my old BMW and have had to call a tow at least 3 times. I didn’t want to use my insurance again so I decided to take the hit and pay for a tow out of pocket.
I found Powerstroke Towing on Unilocal and immediately noticed the review. Speed, professionalism and flexibility were the things that stood out so I gave them a try. I must say, the reviews really don’t do them justice since they exceeded all my expectations even the ones I didn’t know I should have!
They arrived insanely fast (like 15 minutes) and promptly got to work. They reminded me to take things out of the car first and even offered to email me my receipt afterwards. The price was really reasonable considering the distance and they even surprised me when they included a flatbed for me at no extra cost!
I’ve always said that there are 2 important people to know when you move to any new city, an honest mechanic and a good plumber. It looks like I’ll need to add a speedy and reliable tow service. Seriously, keep their number in your phone, I sure will. My only regret is not knowing about them sooner since I’ve used 3 tow services already. They really respect your time and do their best to provide you with great customer service. Thanks again guys.

What a great company. Good rates and very communicative. Robert intended to take the day off for his birthday and was STILL able to come and tow my car for me. Such a great company!

OMG!!! My dearest car… transmission went out!!! OUCH! last week… Jan 6^th, way to start the year people! And I DONOT want a new car payment, so I was not only looking for a towing service, but also a mechanic (*Trusting!) to get it fixed. Robert was professional, efficient, most definitely NOT the typical towing truck driver AT ALL, clean presentation, clean towing truck, and he recommended a transmissions mechanic of trust. And luckly because I had no cash on me, he was able to get the towing fee from my credit card thru his iPad! I loved that! A towing truck guy who uses the newest technology! How cool is that??? I get my car back today!!! ;)

I found PT on Unilocal when my truck engine failed in Austin while pulling a 16ft enclosed trailer. All other towing companies were saying they couldn’t help unless I left the trailer on the side of the road. Robert was very professional and helpful in figuring a way out if my unfortunate situation. It was no problem for him to drive to Austin and tow back my truck and trailer to San Antonio, and at a very reasonable rate!

While we were driving our Mazda RX8 on the freeway, it was running smoothly and nothing seemed to be wrong with it until we got off the freeway and stopped at a red light. While we were at a complete stop the car turned off out of no where and we were trying so hard to start it again before the light turned green. Unfortunately the car wouldn’t start and we were holding up so much traffic, it was soooo embarrassing! Luckily for us a cop came up behind us and he had used his car to push us to the nearest parking lot to get us out of the way so we wouldn’t hold up traffic, but while he was doing that his car was scratching our back bumper!
After that we had no one to call and didn’t know what else to do because it was already around 10:00pm. We were already so frustrated, annoyed, and hopeless, until we called Powerstroke Towing. Robert was very understanding and professional and showed up in reasonable timing. Once he arrived on the scene, he seemed to be very knowledgeable experienced in what he was doing and the equipment he was using, and got us out of the parking lot in no time. During the drive to our destination, he was very friendly and informative. He even gave us a lot of helpful advice for the situation we were in. Plus, he gave us a reasonable deal on the price. If i was ever to be in this situation again, Powerstroke Towing would absolutely be the first number I would call for help. They are definitely the company to call if your having problems with your vehicle and need a tow. Without a doubt, I would recommend this company to anyone who is in need of roadside assistance.

Call and ask for Robert, he did a great job and the price was better than any of the other towing companies I called. (wont mention any names, but I called at least 5 other trucks) I hope you never need a tow truck, but if you do, call Powerstroke

My car had some issues right outside of my house in Helotes, TX. Robert came all the way out and towed it to the southside of San Antonio (best garages in town). He had my car hooked up by the time I walked outside and was very professional and amiable. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Definitely the best in San Antonio.
