Schalan graduated from Paul Mitchell The School San Antonio, with honors. She knew since 1st grade that she wanted to be hairstylist, and a salon owner since high school. She worked for Personal Touch’s previous owner, Kristy Ondrias, from 2009 – 2014. Kristy then passed the business on to Schalan in 2014. She knows everything Paul Mitchell has to offer like the back of her hand. Schalan has been Brazilan Blowout Certified since 2010. She is also certified in Babe Hair Extensions.

I’ve been coming to Personal Touch for about 2 years. Shaylan is a great stylist and especially colorist. She really knows her stuff! I can always count on her for an honest opinion and beautiful work.
The hours are very flexible and it’s always easy to make an appointment. I recommend Shaylan & Personal Touch salon to all my friends.

Great salon! I’ve been coming to Shaylan for about 2 years now. As a girl with lots of curly hair, I’m very particular about my hairstylists. Curly hair can be tricky, but Shaylan knows it and always gives me a perfect style-​Exactly what I want every time.
The salon keeps excellent records, and regardless of how long I go between cuts, they pick up right where we left off.
They offer a full range of services and are great for everything from a quick trim, to Brazilian blowouts, too flashy, fashion forward options.
They offer a rebooking discount program and other monthly specials for their Brazilian blowout that makes it a little more affordable. That’s next on my todo list for sure! Love love love this place!!!

This salon is fabulous in every way. Schalan, the owner/​head stylist and Samantha are extremely knowledge on all new techniques and styles. They both will give one a honest opinion on what will work and what will not work. By the way, customer service is excellent. They both cater to their guests every need. Whether it’s a cup of coffee or a nice glass of wine.

I love this place! Always getting my Brazilian blowout and everytime it comes out awesome. Love the way my hair color comes out all the time, best customer service! The place looks really nice and has a warm touch to it.

I was in the area, had time to kill, seeing an open sign in the window I decided to get my hair cut. Schalan was very cordial and cut my hair rather quickly. She was telling me about her new salon, how she has hired a young lady who’s almost licensed and how she wants to give her a chance to develop and grow, just as she herself was given a chance 5 years ago. Schalan’s attitude struck me to write this review… still killing time. Sounds like her salon does every kind of service out there. Oh my hair came out great, pretty basic, but some of the salons in Austin have a hard time blending the top (longer hair) to my sides (very short) with out looking squared. Price was reasonable enough that I left a larger than normal tip yet paying less overall than the few I go to in Austin.
