NYC State Of Mind

Stay away! I cannot emphasize that statement enough, stay far away! I am originally from the East Coast and after reading online reviews and learning the owner is also from back east I hoped I had finally found a shop here in San Antonio. I was absolutely wrong in that assumption. Today, literally less than 30 mins ago I received the worst haircut in my 35 yrs of living from NYC State of Mind. I went in for a shadow fade w/​a taper and beard taper. What I received looks like the first kitchen, backyard or dormroom cut ever given. My beard is hacked up, uneven and far from blended. My haircut is average at best and has the worst shape up and beard edge up in history. Two ppl attempted to correct the issue and both could tell I was not happy. Truth be told I was better off doing it myself blindfolded and simply lighting the $ 20 I paid on fire. If the owner is truly from the BX and they seen me after getting out of the chair they would say I was robbed! If you’re looking for a haircut, heed my warning, STAY AWAY!!!

This place is fantastic. After getting a few terrible cuts elsewhere I found this place. I have a short more technical cut and Naomi nails it every time. Very reasonable prices. As long as I’m in SA this is the only place that will be cutting my hair.

Great haircut for me, the stylist listened to what I requested and did exactly that. The price is totally reasonable too. $ 15 for mens haircut. Will def go back

First time getting a haircut there. Prices were affordable and the service was great. Jen did an excellent job cutting my hair and the shampoo was awesome. Definitely will be back.

Prices were great for the service received. Location is ideal, and the staff was awesome. Seemed like a Paul Mitchell shop, but without the typical high prices. I’ll be back and will take my 2 munchkins with me next week.

I used Unilocal to find this barber. I am very picky about my haircuts and they did a good job. I went in to get a cut and thats what I got. Nothing too fancy just even all around and it was $ 15. I guess I need to get use to being in the big city again.
This was a very welcoming environment and they offer you something to drink while you wait. The name had me thinking the this place was more of a barbershop but it is more like a salon.
Military discounts are available when you get a shampoo and cut.

Im from seattle and This place is so awesome! They do great job on hair and eyebrow. Naomi did excellent job. Not ur typical barber/​salon place. Definetely recommend this place…
