Mimi’s Barbacoa and Tamales Y Mas

I always enjoy the tacos here. The guisada is tender and the sauce delicious. The bacon strips they use for the tacos is also really good. I add salt to the egg tacos.
The cheese enchiladas are also good if you think there is no such thing as too much cheese. The tortillas are thick and fresh. I usually don’t notice the tortillas much when I eat enchiladas, but theirs really stands out in a good way. The sauce on the enchiladas is really good and has bits of guisada in it. The next time I will ask for less cheese on top, with more sauce.

Great customer service, AMAZING food, best little hole-​in-​the-​wall restaurant on Wurzbach rd. Most people get their food to-​go, I’d say about 95%.
Chicken tamales were fresh and delicious, barbacoa is amazingly good, has soft drinks and a menu. Will DEFINITELY frequent this place

The food is ok at best. However, they consistently over-​charge me. Today was the last time. Mimi’s lists tamales for $ 9.99. Today he charged $ 12.99. This has happened before. The last time I corrected him, this time I walked out.
If their employee feels he needs to steal on my dime, I’ll just go somewhere else. I hope the owner sees this. The thieving employee is easy to spot. He looks completely miserable, and I hope he is.

Was originally craving pancakes on a Sunday, then an IG post made me want a bagel. When we arrived at the bagel store I saw them and immediately changed my mind. I’m glad I did.
Came back for their barbacoa and al pastor tacos! Hot the spot!

This was our local taco shop for awhile until I had a lot of family come in town for the holidays, we no longer go there. I was ordering food for about 10 people and we all eat more than one taco so that’s a lot of food. To save time on a story this is what happened; I think it was a family new employee (old enough to be a senior citizen) and he messed up my order before AND after ringing it in, causing them to give me the wrong food. I overheard how he over charged a regular customer so I prompted them to check my receipt and found out he overcharged me. AND THEN the original owner «Mimi» had the audacity to say negative comments about me when I asked for them to recheck everythingg!
And like other reviews it is very true how they will charge you different every time you go even when you order the same thing.
