We specialize in Preventive Cardiology & health restoration Medicine, e.g. mostly prevention of (& recovery from) heart attacks, strokes, peripheral arterial disease, congestive heart failure, lipoproteins, Diabetes Mellitus, high blood pressure & a huge number of other human issues.

Dr. Alvis has extensive experience in both diagnostic & interventional cardiology; critically helpful in understanding the many diagnostic treatment options & how they work out.

We emphasize client education & empowerment to correctly understand anatomy, physiology & many interacting health issues so that clients are far more effective in avoiding both symptomatic disease & many expensive disease treatments commonly promoted by the medical industry after people have become quite disabled.

Dr. Alvis: extensive engineering experience, former USAF instructor in supersonic jet aircraft, awarded for outstanding performance, an FAA medical examiner, all classes & is leading several entrepreneurial ventures.

History

Established in 1989.

After working & saving throughout Medical School, Residency & Fellowship & subsequently moving from New Orleans, LA, back to San Antonio (home town), we set up solo practice with the goal of providing both exceptionally high quality & flexible services to empower those who come to us both better understand, proactively protect & improve their health, productivity and quality of life.

We had no intention of practicing only advanced disease medicine as is typically promoted and done.

Offering high quality services requires sophistication, flexibility, client intelligence, mutual responsibility, motivation & extensive interaction so as to empower clients to better understand & achieve excellence. Thus solo practice, despite the associated difficulties, was a key requirement.

We have been increasingly recognized for outstanding service because of both our efforts & the involvement, efforts & appreciation of clients who come to us from across Texas & the United States.
