horrible food… and its so unbelievably dirty… I had to wipe down our table while we waited for our take out order… shouldve taken that as a sign… I was also shocked by the price too… I’ll stick to jersey mikes that’s in the same shopping center !

McAllister’s has a good selection of sandwiches and other items. I kind of wish there was more of a selection for sides, but it seems all locations are the same. What is not the same is the service. This location, in particular, and I’ve been here several times, seems to be in chaos behind the counter. A short line of one or two, and it still takes a while to get an order taken. Folks taking orders are also filling drinks and fulfilling take out orders and sometimes running food. Often times there is only one person at the register, and s/he will also be doing other things, while folks are waiting in line. I like the food. I like the service at other locations, but this place is slow at the counter. It’s a minor frustration, but it’s still annoying, knowing it could be run so much more efficiently.

I enjoy coming to McAllisters. Their tea is decent but has a «dry» note on the palate. So it’s a good 7⁄10. I usually go for the Memphian and it’s never let me down. Lunch rush is quick and staff is always good about checking on you. Glad they finally put the drink stations separate so it’s self serve. Makes refills so much easier. They have a drive thru but you need to call ahead. Peking is plentiful and if it’s too crazy, there are some other food options in the same strip center.

Took 40 minutes to get our food and then we got it cold. Don’t know what they are doing all that time.

Short but sweet(tea) visits. A little further than the Subway right by my place, but worth the extra few miles for much better food. why three stars? Staff at this location can sometimes beg a bit more communication and just a tip, try to actually look like you are in a good mood. I get sour faces at times, as well as leaving feeling like I was some hassle for just stepping inside.

First time here and I love it so far. We walk in and are instantly greeted. We let the cashier Nicole help us pick our food. She was friendly and gave us samples of their soup. She explained the menu items in detail and since my boyfriend is military she told us about the military punch card. The food was delicious!!! I ordered the Smokey Pepper Jack Turkey with broccoli cheese soup. The grilled sandwich was amazing!!! The broccoli cheese soup was nice and hot and had a great taste! Nicole said they are known for their sweet tea and although I’m not a tea drinker I went ahead and tried it. I have to admit, the tea was pretty good. First experience here was good. I would recommend this place to someone looking for a deli or in the mood for some hot soup and sandwich.

Nicole was nice and she was a lot of help when we needed help ordering food. As soon as we told her it was our first time here she was nice enough to explain the menu to us. We ordered the turkey Ruben and the smoky pepper jack turkey. The food was delicious and the portion was huge and filling. They have a military club card. They also have gallon tea club. Nicole also came back to check how was our meal an if we needed anything else to make our visit better. Nicole definitely needs recognition on her outstanding work, she definitely makes me an my family want to return so if you’re ever in the DeZavala road please take the time come into McAllister’s the food is great an if you get the pleasure to have Nicole wait on you it will top the visit Thank you Nicole an McAllister’s

I came here this evening to McAllister’s very hungry and I left not happy at all. My mom and I came in for dinner and ordered our food, no problem. Once we sat down we noticed a lot of dirty tables, dirty dishes not picked up, and hardly any employees at the restaurant. Fifteen minutes has almost passed and our food still has not came out. Impatiently we told the cashier to give us our money back because food was taking too long. Right behind the counter was our food. His response was that there was a long order from the drive thru and ours shouldn’t take that long and gave us the option to either wait or get a refund. We decided to wait another five minutes or else we’d get the refund. In less than a minute our food came out and the cashier apologized for the long wait and offered to give us a free desert. Once we got the food it didn’t taste the same as I’ve been to other MD’s in the area. Atmosphere was dead and at times it would be warm and cold in there. I won’t be coming back to this location because of this experience.

Just came here for lunch and dirty dishes had been sitting on the table for it looks like over 30 minutes! Gross! We promptly left.

Huge disappointment! We ordered a big order to-go and upon pick up I had to wait in the line of 20 people instead the employee I talked to could have taken care of me right then and there when I told her I had a order that was ready for pick up.

Normally I love this place but tonight we had a bad experience. First, it was very dirty. I snapped and posted a few pics. It could almost be understood if they were busy, but it was super slow and there were at least 6 employees working. Besides being dirty, the food wasn’t great. Like others have posted our sandwich was supposed to be hot, but was luke warm at best. The potato was good and was very hot. What was tough was we waited almost 25 minutes for a sandwich, salad, and potato. Seems long, especially since they were not busy. Side note, it was freezing cold in the dining room.

This used to be my go-to place for a great sandwich, but I’ve been disappointed the last few visits. Their hot sandwiches are, at best, luke warm, and some of the sandwich ingredients are added so sparingly that I’ve actually thought they left ingredients out before. I’ve even tried to vary my orders to make sure it’s not just the same sandwich, but alas, it is the same regardless. Today I had a Spicy Southwest Chicken Griller(sandwich), and though it had good flavor overall, there was no «spicy» at all, and the chicken(the main ingredient) was so sparse I took a couple of bites that didn’t even have chicken in it. My days of coming here are likely numbered.

Their inability to adequately staff during the busy noon hour is incredibly frustrating. It’s like going to Walmart and having two cashiers open during the Sunday rush. Come On! 30 minutes to order food is unacceptable!

This particular McAlister’s is closest to my place of work, which means it’s not necessarily my go-to location but it will do. On the plus side it is always clean and their flavored lemonades are so good that I want to buy the various berry syrups online. Staff are also friendly people but they need to fix the«understaffed employees» issue because it took 16 minutes for me to receive my Southwest turkey sandwich today. Another recommendation would be the king club, you can never go wrong with the king club. Their potatoes are decent, but be careful about pairing a whole one with anything else because they are pretty large, jam-packed spuds as it is.

The staff and management at this location is completely inept. On two separate occasions it’s taken over 30 minutes to get a to go order for a family of 4. When pressed, they admitted to losing the order, despite less than 20 people being in the entire restaurant at the time. Don’t waste your time, they certainly won’t think twice about wasting yours.

Fresh good food at a reasonable price! Best iced tea in town! It’s our«go to» place for lunch or dinner!

I came for lunch with girlfriends and preschoolers. The line to place our order was particularly slow, and the kids got pretty antsy. The food was ready quickly and brought to our tables. I had the Southwestern Cobb salad. There was nothing wrong with it, but I didn’t care for the flavors. I was doubly disappointed because it is in a convenient location.

So I’ve eaten here about 4 – 5 times since it opened several months ago. I only come here because my work route(medical courier, here) runs right by it and they have free WiFi. Honestly I have not been impressed with anything I’ve had/experienced here. I really try to give them the benefit of the doubt but come on… Service is terribly lacking, ALWAYS slow. Last time it took around 20 minutes for my food to come out. I’m sorry but it should not take 20 minutes to make a sandwich. Just sad. The tables always are dirty and the bathrooms have already gotten disgusting in the few short months they’ve been open. This is the only location I’ve visited but it has completely left me with no desire to patronize this chain of delis.

Environment: B(+0.5) The restaurant has a good ambience level, plenty of seating and a lot of natural light which helps it to feel more open. Food Quality: B(+0.5) I ordered a bowl of broccoli and cheddar soup and a chili spud olé. The soup was good — a thicker texture than what I’m used to, but still flavorful. I love to crumple the crackers up in the package and then spread them over the soup and it adds more flavor to it. The chili spud olé was okay. I think the bigger problem is you have this huge spud and all of the toppings(aka the flavoring and seasoning) goes on top and all of a sudden when all thats gone, you’re left with a bland spud. Someone should investigate how to better distribute the toppings because I threw out a lot of bland spud. Selection: A(+1) They seem to have added some new items to the menu since I’ve visited last, so it made it a little bit more difficult to order because it all sounded so good, but that’s a good problem to have! Service: B(+0.5) Everything came out as ordered. Correct condiments and utensils were also included. I’ve never had bad service, but the wait time was a little excessive considering the low volume of traffic in the restaurant at the time(this was around 4pm). Value: A(+0.5) I love Mcalister’s but the way they do upsells is completely slanted. For instance, if you did a sandwich and wanted a cup of soup versus chips, it’s a $ 2 up-charge. Then they try to up-sell you to the bowl for $ 1.49 more. That means you only save about $ 1.20(26%) off the price of just buying a bowl of soup al a carte. Final Thoughts: This was my first visit to this location since it relocated so I was excited to see the new restaurant and it is a beauty! Nice and wide open with free WiFi which would be great for a business meeting or if you just want to hang out or study and it offers outdoor seating and a pickup window for call-ahead orders, both which were not previously available at the prior location. The restaurant was extremely cold. I was wearing a hoodie and it was 30 – 40 degrees outside and I’m sitting inside still freezing It also feels like the pickup window is under-utilized. I feel like it would be better served as a drive thru but I understand the concept behind it being you can call ahead or place your order thru the mobile app and you’re able to specify a certain time that you wish to pick your order up at but it just seems like wasted space and a poorly executed concept based on how often it probably doesn’t get used. There’s rarely, if ever, a wait which is good for me but kind of validates the point I’m making.

McAlister’s Deli looks better than it actually is. That’s not to say that their product is bad but just that the pictures always look so much better than the product presented you. The sandwiches, for example, always look like they have twice as much meat as the exact same one that was just delivered to your table. You would think that we as consumers would be used to this but each time we hold out that tiny flicker of hope in that what we see on the display is what ends up on our plates. A few things that I have tried at McAlister’s that tend to be my ‘Go to” orders, are the bread bowl soups and the spuds. Is there anything better truly cleaning your plate — or in this case bowl? There’s something entirely satisfying about chowing down some chowder and then biting down on that bread bowl. I like the potato soup which is quite hearty, and the broccoli cheese. The other item that I quite enjoy is the loaded spuds. Now, one caveat — these things are huge! Like the size of a football cut in half. So, it’s not like, «Well, I’m a bit peckish so I’ll get the Rueben with chips, pickle, and tea, and oh, well, gimme one of them chili baked potatoes.» But then again, that may be your standing order — I’m not judging. Evidentially, this place is know for their iced tea. Yeah, this and about 2500 other places south of the Mason-Dixon Line. It’s tea. Nothing special. I actually prefer their lemonade. To each his own. As a bonus, McAlister’s offers free WiFi, and outdoor seating. It’s not my first choice for lunch or even sandwiches but if someone suggests it, I wouldn’t complain. There have a sufficient variety of hot and cold sandwiches, sides, such as salads(veges, potato, pasta, fruit, chips), and soups in bread bowls or not. You should be able to find something here that you like.
