Lucy’s Doggy Daycare and Spa

A year later and I love this place even more.
We walk in and it’s like walking into the bar Cheers. Except they don’t shout my name they call out our dogs. And it’s awesome. The staff is truly fantastic.
The process is so smooth and making reservations for boarding or grooming are so easy. They also gave me a heads up that the dogs needed new shots in advance so that was super appreciated.
I occasionally (all the time) watch our dogs on the doggy cam — it’s hysterical and comforting.

Well worth the money (cheaper than buying a new couch and many pairs of shoes). I stopped by over the holidays to get a feel for the place, got a tour and watched 60+ dogs hanging out in Ceasar Milan fashion — there really is a pack mentality there, and it’s awesome! Brodie now goes 5 days a week and has a BLAST. The staff know each dog by name, and care for them like they are their own. You can watch on web cams, but the best is watching through the window and seeing your fur baby having the time of his/​her life. It’s a great deal — $ 11 for 7am-​3pm, and even less if you buy a package. I love, love, love Lucy’s!

Left my 2 dogs there over the holidays… picked them up with kennel cough. Seems like they don’t verify all dog shots records.

We have been taking our boy here for the last 2.5 years and the team there is amazing. They are very friendly and my dog is a little shy and I think he likes the employees there more then me sometimes. Mike and his team do an amazing job there and are the best team in town.

I’ve been a customer at the downtown location for about three years. I’m impressed by the professionalism, courtesy, and kindness at every level. The staff know my dog and they know me. And they go out of their way to make sure that we’re happy and satisfied with the care and service that my dog receives. I espcially like the ability to see my dog at play via the webcam that gives a good view of the two play areas. It’s great to see the dogs interacting and even better to see how the staff play with the dogs.
I’m a very, very dedicated LDD customer and I highly recommend the business. It’s a fun and, more importantly, safe place for your pet.

I really like this place. Have stopped in a few times to utilize the self serve dog wash. The staff is always friendly and help me check out quickly. The prices are okay though with most things involving our four legged friends can get pretty pricey, pretty fast. Have wanted to try out the day care to allow my fuzzy friend a chance to play in their park/​wading pool. But haven’t done it yet. I like that they offer to kennel and have different options but I have seperation anxiety and not sure I can handle it hahaha I’ll definitely keep coming back!

I took my Maltese dog to the downtown location for the first time for grooming. The staff was courteous and friendly over the phone when I called to make the appointment and in person when I dropped her off on the day of. Even though they were busy with check-​ins they didn’t sacrifice friendly faces and great customer service. My fur friend and I got the full explanation of their grooming services. She was ready in about 3 hours and looked adorable and dog park ready. I was very pleased with my experience at Lucy’s and will make this her official grooming place and will gladly recommend it to all. The 20% discount for first time customers was definitely a huge draw.

I recently boarded my two fur children at the downtown location and had the best experience that I just have to share…
I was nervous about leaving them as I hadn’t boarded my pups before. They were welcomed with open arms and I was able to stay and experience this new place with them. After only a couple minutes my dogs were in heaven and living the life. I was super nervous about the play area but I was freaking out over nothing. They have that place in tip top shape and have total control. They were personally and properly eased into the play area and did great!
I have to thank JT and Andrew at the front who were so nice, patient, genuine and awesome with my dogs and me! You can call as much as you want and watch your pups on web cams. I just can’t get over how awesome this place is! Mine will be regulars at day care now!

I cannot say enough good things about Lucy’s. Our two dogs (one big, one little) went to the downtown location for almost 4 years. They went to daycare at least once a week, were boarded there for both short and longer periods of time, and got bathed and groomed there. Even though many of the folks who work there are younger, I always felt that everyone was very professional. Their software was always up to date; you never had to guess at how many visits you had left on your package, for instance. Their grooming services, while not cheap, were always excellent, and really it was worth it to drop your stinky hairy dog off in the morning and pick them up at the end of the day shaved and clean. And they love the dogs. Sometimes our big one would come home from daycare obviously brushed, just because they like her and wanted to brush her. Even after we moved to another state (and therefore they clearly had no financial incentive to do anything for us), I called one weekend while our vet was closed and RJ was kind enough to email us their most recent vet records so we could get them into a new daycare. A friend who boards her dogs there dropped them off for daycare one morning without realizing that their vaccines had just expired. After calling her and realizing she couldn’t leave work to come back to get them, the staff actually took her dog nearby to the vet and got their vaccines taken care of for her! Now I’m sure this isn’t an every day occurrence, but this is the kind of above-​and-​beyond care we experienced from Lucy’s. We’ll miss them!

Loved it! Super clean, no pee smells, staff was awesome and I’ll definitely bring my dog back when we travel to SA. I’m very particular on where I bring my dog (he’s like my child). The place is busy too and that’s a good sign, lots of repeat business means they know what they are doing. Keep up the good work!

I am an overprotective crazy dog mom, and I shopped around for doggy daycare locations before dropping my dogs off at Lucy’s Doggy Daycare Downtown Location. At first I found the Thousand Oaks location and I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my small dogs there, because the playroom is tiny and there’s not always a human being with the dogs. So, I took my dogs to Camp Bow Wow instead for several years and didn’t research other daycares because I was very happy with their service.
In 2014, we were moving out of state and selling our house and I needed to get the dogs out of the house all day when I was at work so the house could be shown by the realtor. Camp Bow Wow was not located conveniently along my morning commute and I was going to be late to work daily if I took them there. I searched for doggy daycare locations again and found this downtown location for Lucy’s. After touring the facility, it met my criteria for safe doggy daycare locations:
1. They don’t mix the small dogs with the larger dogs, so my mind was at ease that my little 15 lb. dogs were not going to be playing with ginormous dogs.
2. The dogs are never left alone in the play yard. There is always a human being in the playpen with them, so they are safe from harm in case a dog gets too rowdy.
3. The small dog playyard here at this location is huge and wonderful! Not just a small room like the Thousand Oaks location.
4. The staff is SO NICE and accommodating. I explained our situation with moving and me not wanting to be late to work, and they let me bring the dogs in early before they opened on a few occasions so I wouldn’t be late for work.
They gave us a multi-​dog discount and a military discount. The price beat Camp Bow Wow’s price by far, so we started taking our dogs here every day before we moved. Our dogs were so happy and I wish I would have found this location earlier! Our dogs only got to enjoy it for about 4 months.

Landry my Jack Russell and I were lucky enough to enjoy a tour and bath with Unilocal group recently and the staff could not have been more friendly and attentive! Their space is great from the huge kennel space that offers suites with webcams and tvs to the smaller kennels, there’s something here for all! We were given a tour of the facility the dogs were allowed some supervised play time-​they had a BLAST!
Our poochies were also able to take advantage of the self serve bath stations, what a great idea!
I know as an owner of a very spoiled dog, I really worry about, and really prefer not to board my dog. Touring this facility, I can say I would feel very comfortable leaving my baby in Lucy’s capable hands!

Took my golden here to be groomed a few days ago and he looks absolutely amazing! by far the best haircut he’s ever had thanks to Erika!

Review for grooming, doggy day care, and self-​serve wash stations.
I absolutely love Lucy’s! I’ve dropped my dogs off for ½ day day care + grooming, and they come home played out and smelling so clean. I love being able to watch the dogs on their play area cams. I’ve used the self-​serve wash stations several times. I really hate the smell of wet dog at home, it just seems to linger. I’ve brought 3 dogs (one has since passed away– and we actually took her to Lucy’s for her last bath a few days before she died): golden retriever (RIP!), brown short-​haired mutt, and a shiba/​husky mix. The golden and the husky mix were the main reasons I would not wash at home. The fur… so much fur… flying everywhere. At Lucy’s, you can use the self-​serve and not have to deal with the clean up!
I like the metal tubs at this location because you can adjust the height. The water hose has an adjustable pressure setting. They have water brushes, shampoo, conditioner, detangle spray, ear cleaner (+ cotton balls), nail clippers, gloves if you’re up for expressing anal glands, and treats. And towels to dry off as well as a blow dryer with adjustable settings. On your first time, they can help orient you on how to wash your dog. And they’re always happy to answer questions.
I would definitely recommend for anyone who has to use the day care (they also have an option for pick up + drop off if you can’t make the drive), grooming, and especially self-​serve.
The main drawback is the parking. There are very few spots and some of them get sort of blocked off by a curb.

This place is awesome! I took my dog Jr Bear here and they did a great job with his coat and tail and they did it in timely matter. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Fantastic, our 2 labs love the place. This is the 2^nd time that we have used them. Friendly/​happy staff members. The dogs are always shampooed and ready to go when I pick them up. :)

I think Lucy’s is the best thing since slice bread. I take my dog Max and Tensley there 3 times a week and they have a wonderful time. The staff is so caring and professional they are truly concern about the owner and the dog. Max and Tensley don’t do well on a leash and the staff is always will to help and give me words of advice when I just get feed up with my fur babies and I am so thankful that I found Lucy’s.
Since I have Great Danes I am so glad that their schedule for breaks works around lunch because my dogs need to rest for an hour after eating. Lucy’s are very knowledgable about dogs behavior and that is wonderful when you are a first time dog owner. I will never take my babies anywhere else. I am a life long customer. Thanks to the staff and mike for all the hard work and care they put into caring for my pets. Lucy’s rock. A big thanks to the young men in the park area for all their hard work in caring and loving our pets.

I love this place, and of course my puppy does, too — here’s why:
I dropped my 6m/​o puppy off for her first weekend away from home this Labor Day weekend. She doesn’t get enough play time with other dogs, so I was a little worried about her adjusting. She did really well!
Ya know how I know? WEBCAMS! Sounds creepy, but it is so perfect. I was able to check in on how she was playing with other dogs on my computer (7:30a-12:30p and 3:30−6p).
Food was easy — I just dropped off a bin with her food and there was space on the form to write the time to feed and how much food to provide. The bath was only $ 12, which saved me the struggle of trying to bathe a puppy who does NOT like the bathtub.
Overall, it was a good, fair-​priced ($ 32/​night), kennel experience. She came back with a cough despite her distemper/​bordatella vaccines, but many of my other dogs had that issue — It is what it is.
Taking her to puppy school ($ 200) soon — can’t wait.

I am basing my review on nothing more than their self service dog wash. I cannot opine on their day care, spa, etc.
Now, with that intro, I have to say that I was thoroughly impresseed with Lucy’s downtown location. It was brand new, super clean, and they had all the implements you need to give your pooch a nice scrub down for a fair price without forking out a small fortune for somebody else to wash your dog.
I am knocking it down a star though because the location is sort of hard to get to depending on what direction you are coming from and it would be nice if they had dividers or some sort of splash guards between the self-​service dog wash stalls.
