History

Established in 2015.

Loving Kind and Compassionate Sitters was born out of our experiences as parents of a unique and beautiful child with special needs named Lilyana Kathryn Comstock (Lily Kate for short). Lily Kate has a rare genetic condition (Subcortical Band Heterotopia) that has left her with significant developmental delays and intractable epilepsy. As a result, she requires more attention, compassion, and patience than does a typical child. Finding a qualified and reliable babysitter for a child like Lily Kate, even in a city as large as San Antonio, was difficult to say the least. We had a number of sitters come once and refuse to come again, mainly because they are afraid Lily Kate will have a seizure on their watch. As every parent knows, having time for yourselves, time with your spouse, and time to get things done is the key to being the best you. So we decided to start a sitting service that serves ALL families in the San Antonio area, including those who have a child with special needs.
