This daycare is one of the two reasons I regret leaving to move closer to my work. My son is a special needs student with autism and speech delay. He has been at this facility since he was five, he is now seven. We first heard about this facility from my son’s teacher and that the director/owner, Mrs. Ofie, was opening her own place and has experience with special needs children. At first, I did not choose this facility and I went with another because it was closer to the school he was going to at that time. That was a big mistake! The facility that I chose had informed me that they had experience with autistic children. After a few months, all I heard was complaints from the director about how they are spending money and time to have a teacher provide 1:1 care when it was needed. So at the end of the school year, I left the facility, told them not to worry that my son would not be returning, and a few weeks before the next school year began, I signed him up at Little Dove Learning Center. Mrs. Ofie runs a family business with her kids and husband. They are always positive, willing to help, and she had time to discuss/communicate any ideas that would help my son with issues that he was having such as potty training etc. I never received any kind of negativity from them or the impression they did not want to deal with my son. They enjoyed having my son and it got to the point where my son was so comfortable with them that he was hugging, kissing and interacting with them which he usually only does with his immediate family. I consider Little Dove an extension of our family. I will really miss having him there full-time or for after school care because I know he would be in great hands. I know for sure that any time I will be on that side of town and I need childcare for my son that they will be willing to help. I highly recommend this facility for anyone that lives in or close to this area for full-time care, part-time care and even if you just need afterschool care. Driving a few or several minutes longer should not be a factor in your decision when choosing a quality childcare/daycare/afterschool care for your child. Or if you are in the same boat as I am, having difficulty finding a place for your special needs child, don’t look any further and go see Mrs. Ofie!
