Kiddie Park

I just took my 3 year old son here today and he had a blast. Everything is vintage and is super cute. I bought the unlimited rides wrist band for $ 12 ish with my military discount. Believe me it was money well spent and we will definitely be back.

We are from Houston and happened to find this Kiddie Park on our way to the San Antonio zoo. It’s really good for toddler’s my son is 2 ½ and had a blast the wrist band is only 13.00 and well worth it. My only concern is one of the rides (I have no idea what the name of it is but, it should call the torture chamber) it’s kind a looks like those twirly chairs but when it goes around the corner the chairs swings really hard. I hadn’t not seen the ride and I was thinking it would go round and round like the rest of the rides. So we put our little toddler in there the lady operating the ride didn’t even give us a heads up. As soon as the ride turned on my son was slammed to the left side of the seat, he grabbed on to the chair for dear life. If he hadn’t done that he would of probably hit his face on the bar that’s in front of them that they use to hold on. I had to tell the lady to stop the ride. She did and we got our son out QUICK!!! My son was so scared!!! The person operating the ride should just give a heads up to parents that the ride is good for older kids at least 7– 10. After that incident everything else was fine my son still got on the rest of the rides twice.

We took our 2 and 4 year old here yesterday. I thought it was great. There weren’t a lot of rides but plenty enough to keep them busy. After going through everything once, I was ready to go but, of course, my kids weren’t! There was hardly a wait for the rides which was shocking to me because it was midday on a Saturday. The tickets and refreshments are inexpensive. The rides are very old but seemed to be maintained well. There was one ride that was out of order. They also have face painting and pony rides for an extra charge.
Overall, it was a fun experience!

This amusement park has been around for years, I came here when I was little. Great for 6 yr old and younger. They have pony rides again but the wristband does not cover it so get your coupon. We utilized it this year for our daughters 5^th birthday and they had a blast. They have tables for simple get togethers or cabanas if you want large parties; you can also bring your own soft drinks, food, or water if you use the cabanas. The only issue we had was hostess was absent but that’s always the problem everywhere you go. The staff are very good with all the toddlers and try to keep the place clean so be a good visitor and do your part to help.

Oh the kiddie park… I longed as a kid to visit this place and my parents never got around to taking us… so when my kids turned 4 and 6 I decided to take them. We went during a week day (school holiday, don’t report me) and surprisingly it was pretty empty. I liked the fact that you are allowed to walk through the park without having to pay to «get in» you can check it out and walk around before paying which is nice. I had a 2 for 1 admission coupon so both of my kids got to ride all the rides for only $ 13 and we did visit the food stand they had there and spent about another $ 12. We had such a great time! I lived vicariously through my kids that day, and my heart overflowed with the joy it brought to them. Love this place and we will definitely be returning very soon

This is a pretty fun place for kids under 6. They have all kind of little rides. My son really loves the little cars. If you go when they’re busy prepare to stand in the line for the boats.
I recommend buying the unlimited ride wrist band. It saves you money.
They just opened an ice skating rink which we will soon be checking out!

A fun vintage amusement park for younger kids. My sister and I came here when we were small and now my children are enjoying it. The rides are not fancy or scary, they mostly go in a circle but for little ones they’re a blast. They have a «games of chance» section, where prizes can be won via a ring toss; a «boardwalk» section that houses an arcade with several older video games and during busier times have a face painter. Prices are reasonable, although on a busy day or special event parking can be challenging.

If you didn’t grow up going around here and don’t already have any fun memories of going there, then there is no other reason for you to go there. It’s not worth it! Really overpriced, old, not worth the wait rides. Not even when you think you are getting a good deal and cheaper than normal rides. Not worth the price. Don’t waste your $. They have about 7 – 8 carnival rides only.

It’s Kiddie Park, a San Antonio tradition. I came here when I was young and now it’s my kid’s turn. When the new ownership took over it was much needed. They fixed all the rides and brought every thing up to regulation because this place was about to close down. The rides are very nostalgic and work great. I believe it’s for 10 and under, but in my opinion any child older than 6 or 7 is probably too old. It’s very inexpensive and the younger kids will love it.

ALL of the equipment is old but still runs well and is maintained by a caring staff. The ride operators are friendly and young but care about the kids. My 2 and 3 year old grandsons love it there and cry when it is time to leave. The park has been in operation since 1925 and is one of if not the oldest amusement park in the U.S. The rides are specifically made for young children ages 2 –12 — Go and the kids will have a blast !! Also note: the prices are very reasonable and they give a 10% discount to military

This is a super cute and friendly place for little ones. My 2 year old boy enjoyed the rides very much. Employees were nice and coordinated well the operation of the various rides. I was not happy with one specific female staff who buckled my boy but left the seatbelt VERY loose on the «school bus» ride. He asked to get off before the ride ended because of that. I was, however, extremely satisfied with Eric who was super friendly with the kids and very attentive to safety. You could see he enjoyes the work!

If you’re looking for a place to take kids 10 & under, this is a good option. It’s an old-​school amusement park that’s been around for almost a 100 years, and it shows. Everything looks like it’s original and tailored for pint sizes peeps.
They have a carousel, car rides, boat ride, and a small arcade. There’s a decent amount of shade but I recommend going when it first opens. Lines are smaller and weather is tolerable in the summertime.
The unlimited wristband offers the best value if you’re wanting something for a couple of hours.

Got tired of Sea World, with a crabby crying 2 yr old didn’t help either. So I took them here to kill some time and the kids (2 yr old. and 7 yr old) enjoyed it. 7 yr old was a little too big for some of the smaller rides, but he still had fun. They have about 6 working rides. The pony rides are separate price from the wristband. If you do not want to deal with the crowds and still have your little ones enjoy this is the place to take them.

I’m pretty sure nothing has changed since this place opened decades ago. It’s so old school. But that’s what makes it special. Lots of history and nostalgia.
Your best option is to get the unlimited rides wristband ($ 13), otherwise you pay for each ride separately and they’re $ 2.50 each. There are about 7 – 8 rides, so even if you ride each just once, the wristband pays for itself.
We went on a Friday morning, rode all the rides, left to get lunch, and then came back in the afternoon for more rides. The kids had a blast and could have stayed longer than the 2 – 3 times per ride they each got. It wasn’t crowded at all, so we got right on the rides and the employees would follow the kids around from ride to ride, whatever they wanted to do.
You can also bring your own food (they have picnic tables), or buy food from the snack bar there. I remember seeing funnel cakes, hot dogs, lemonade, ice cream, and soda on the menu, but there was much more.

Cute and fun little vintage park. It has a few of the old rides which is cute. It is cheap. It does get hot and there isn’t alot of shade and sometimes the lines get long. All in all it is fun.

Think old school fair gone miniature. My kids, 4 and 7 at the time, thought this place was amazing! The tickets are a little pricey for the quality. I would recommend going on a cooler day even though it I mostly shaded and not planning in spending but an hour there.

Let me preface by saying that if your children are over the age of, I’d say 7, they are not really going to enjoy this place. This is definitely for «kiddies», meaning toddlers and extremely small humans. The rides are pretty small and only go in circles but the 4 and 5 year old girls I brought thought it was the cat’s meow!
There are about 10 rides (including the pony ride which costs 6.00 separately. (SO worth it, Darla the pony is wonderful!) There is a school bus, planes, space-​ships, boats with a real moat, trains, cars, a carousel and a colorful Ferris wheel. There is also a mini arcade that is operated by quarters and the rides are pretty awesome. Throughout the park are little mini vending machines filled with cheap plastic toys, temporary tattoos, stickers and candy.
They have tables with umbrellas set up in the middle of the park for you to sit (and benches throughout the park) and relax at while your child waits in a relatively short line. The concession booth sells all kinds of goodies like ice cream, sno-​cones (bubblegum, grape, lemon, strawberry, etc), fried and fresh pickles, nachos, chili-​cheese fries, hot-​dogs, funnel cakes, chips, candy and even a make your own cotton candy machine! One of the best things about this park though is that you can bring your OWN packed lunch!
My only big issue and the reason for the loss of one star was the parking and stone flooring issue. I WISH they would pave this lot! With so many kids running around, stones end up everywhere, like in MY EYE. The parking was so confusing. I really also wish they would put up some signs to help direct the flow of traffic to the correct parking lot. I ended up parking at an abandoned building and walking behind a large piece of construction equipment to get to the entrance. So confusing.

The Kiddie Park is a great place for younger kids. My two and a half year old about lost her mind when she realized that she could get on this crazy things that move! Ha. She could ride almost every ride without a problem. There was one ride that recommended that toddlers ride with a big kid, and I didn’t want to squeeze on it.
All of the rides essentially go in circles, but my daughter loved all of them! Her favorite was between the carousel and the boat ride on real water!
They offer standard carnival food, and we enjoyed a Frito pie. It is also totally shaded by big beautiful trees, so it should stay pretty cool.
I judged this place pretty harshly when I saw its… uh, well-​loved vintage rides. However, my daughter adored all of it, so the park won me over in the end!

My little boy loves this place. All day long he rode the boats, the bus, the carousel, the cars, the planes, and never once was I worried about whether he was too little (20 months at the time) because this place is made for little ones. At the end of the day, I was pooped and he was revved up like any properly excited kid should be.
I recommend getting the wrist band for the day and letting them go at it as much as they want. They have picnic tables and a concession stand. They also offer birthday packages, which look like a lot of fun.

Kiddie Park is an absolutely blast. Since my son has gotten older, we’ve been trying to find fun places to take him that don’t break the bank and will make him the happiest child alive for a couple of hours, at least. We went on a Friday afternoon recently and I brought my nieces that were from out of town. It wasn’t too bad because it wasn’t too busy and there were literally no wait lines (with two 3 year olds and one 1.5 year old, waiting times are not fun). $ 13 per bracelet is pretty reasonable, it is a tad bit expensive for the lack of rides and amount of time you spend there, but I can’t really complain. We ended up getting a groupon prior to visiting which was a buy 1 get 1 free, which helped.
Most of the employees were teenagers who obviously weren’t wanting to be spending their day dealing with toddlers/​children. I don’t blame them — but they could’ve at least had common courtesy to say hello or even smile, it was kind of eery how most of the employees were extremely grouchy. Even the manager who was working in the ticket booth was kind of rude.
I love the feel of Kiddie Park, it’s small, it’s old-​fashioned and in a 3-​year olds eyes, it’s like going to Disneyland (OK, maybe not as good — but still. you get the idea). The concessions are completely reasonable and don’t break the bank which is SO nice. They don’t allow food/​drinks inside of the park, but I’m sure you could sneak it in.
Overall, Kiddie Park is awesome. The renovation has been great and the parking lot is now HUGE. I love it and will continue to bring my son here.
