Kid To Kid

Prices are ok for purchasing. However, the $$ they offer for consigning is pitifully low. I have consigned other places and was speechless when I saw their offer for a bag of like-​new brand name clothes. Literally pennies an item. Better off donating to Goodwill and getting a tax break.

I come here often. The staff, amazing. They’re nice, and very helpful. They have a good selection of toys and sometimes furniture. However the over all variety of items is very limited since the store is very small itself. But I always find some nice clothes here. This store is convenient for my location, I buy quiet a bit from them and they always buy a lot from me. So I’m very pleased. This rating only lost one store due to (as stated earlier) the limited variety of items.

Took in a bunch of toys and even though they didn’t take all of them im pleased with how they handled my sale. I opted for store credit and used it towards some clothes and shoes for my kids. I will be back to sell and shop some more.

The staff was very nice and helpful. Found a great deal on a baby swing that runs $ 200.00 retail but got it for $ 99.00 here just like new. One of the girls even helped me carry the swing out to my car.

Good selection of nice, clean clothes. Staff leaves something to be desired and is not very helpful.

Yes, it’s a consignment store, but somehow I always feel like the quality here is closer to what I’d find at a garage sale than a resale store. Maybe I’m not carefully-​enough attuned to this sort of thing specific to kids, but I hit up thrift stores and the like for myself frequently but am underwhelmed by selection and quality here.
In addition to all age levels of clothing, they have some toys, books, and all manner of baby gear: bouncers and high chairs and strollers and cribs, oh my! The furniture is all pretty decent as long as you don’t need anything that matches. Books are not what I’d call «gently used» and games/​toys are damaged.

I always spend lots of money at kids resale shops. Especially at back to school time. The last time I was in this location I asked for a military discount and showed my ID. the lady asked me if my sponsor was active duty then told me it would say AD on my card. I know what it would say on my card and it says «retired». She then rudely told me that he had to be active duty still in order to get the discount and walked off. The girl ringing me up had a sad look and said she was sorry. I haven’t been back there and never will. If you offer a mil discount then do it without prejudice and offer it to everyone. My husband was active duty… but is medically retired due to PTSD, anxiety, and depression. But someone who just got out of boot camp can go in there and get a discount but not someone who served their country for 20 years and is retired now or someone who was retired with a medical condition due to service. If you serve or served your country it was/​is still a great service that deserves recognition.

I’ve shopped at this location several times. The first time was with my husband who is notorious for disliking thrift stores because they are sensory overload. We both found this place clean, well-​lit, and well-​organized.
The quality of the clothing has been consistent and I have found that I don’t need to examine each piece as closely as I do at another (much larger) children’s thrift store.
I’ve always found the staff friendly & helpful and because of the positive experience here, plan on checking out the other area locations.

Whenever I need to get rid of my kid’s seasonal clothes I come here first. People have to understand that you won’t get rich by selling your clothes at a resale shop but IMO it’s better than a garage sale. At times I do scratch my head when they return most of the really nice –sometimes new, name brand– clothes to me but buy the older not in good condition clothes, but at least they took something. Whenever I sell, I always take the store credit because my girls love the brand Justice and if you stop by on occasion you will find Justice clothes at a pretty good cost– even if they are used– the cost is good compared to actually going to Justice. In addition, you can transfer your credit from each Kid to Kid– which is awesome.
I do not like the shoes at K2K. I always glance at them and every time I do, they are very old and worn. K2K should only take new looking shoes, esp since they’ve been on dirty kid’s feet. In addition, they need to have a better organizational system for their shoes instead of on a rack where they get clustered.
As I go through the racks looking for clothes for all of my girls, I’d like to see less clothes for sell that have the worn balls on them. This is where I have scratched my head before with regards to them buying my ugly clothes vs almost new clothes.
They also have two punch cards. One for every $ 10 spent. up to so many. you get $ 10 off and the other one is once a month your kid (s) get a free book. I thought it was 1 book a month but another K2K told me that it was per kid you have!

very helpful lady stopped and spoke about the different color schemes currently popular, which items had what features, and put a hold on an item that had a broken component to ask the manager for a discount. i enjoyed the selection and interesting items for sale. little kids play corner was a nice touch.
however we were promised the item would be held till monday when the manager would come in and we would be contacted about the price change. I was never called and upon calling was told they «managed to get it working» and would only cute $ 10 off the price for the broken light, music, vibration piece. I decided and told the girl id come in the next day and purchase the item. The next day i arrived after my dr appt was over to find the item had been sold. The girl i spoke with on the phone was there and informed the manager who we were, and she promptly told me they dont hold items for more than 24 hours. Period. I tried speaking with her about how the product had a broken piece to a major component in which she replied, «oh but it still works» (the piece was broken inward showing exposed wires that connected to the light/​sound buttons) and that they «dont hold an item more than 24 hours no exceptions». She gave no apologies for the misunderstanding even though the girl who told us it would be held was at the register next to her, and even went so far as to act as though WE were inconveniencing HER time by bothering over a trifle when the item was sold from under us. Her attitude was that of a person bothered by a knat they cant manage to swat.
I will never return to this location again. Horrible managers breed horrible service. Most of that locations items were dirty, dingy, or in some way broken/​marked– all looked overpriced (especially the high chairs with stains on the seats), and as organized as the store was it felt like the salvation army of baby stuff only without the sweet demeanor and decent pricing.
Ive visited the other local next to 9 Lives and they have a great staff!
Recommend scouting out the managers before visiting any of the other locations. Chances are high you can find the same name brand stuff at a better price on ebay!

I decided to check out Kid to Kid after a year of passing by and wondering. With a few minutes on our hands, my son (the real critic at children’s stores) and I went by.
It was at first sight a very organized and clean atmosphere. Unfortunately, as I started to look for specific sizes and types pf clothing (such as long sleeves dress shirts for my son), there were no real markers about how to find it.
I must have looked like an little puppy dog aimlessly walking around and even when I passed by the counter of 4 workers, none even showed a bit of interest in me, as the consumer. I listened to their conversation about how a woman on the phone wanted cash instead of credit towards the shop. One worker replied that they all want the cash. Woah. Does he realize how much children’s clothing is new? Anything back is banking in this economy.
I went back to my business and started to look for the shirt again. Found them! $ 7.99 for a long sleeve dress shirt? Used? Huh? Tyler, let’s go. Must go to Ross. Now.
Normally he throws a fit about leaving places with toys. Here he said, «good, we are going».
