I have taken my Maya there two times. I too am surprised over the couple bad reviews. I was very happy with the way maya looked and woo hoo she smelled so wonderful. I say 5 stars to this grooming salon. Trina

Everyone here has always done a great job with my large German Shepherd Dogs. I started out just bringing them in for nail trims. They were very careful not to cut the quick while still getting their nails nice and short. I was impressed with how they kept my dogs calm and reassured.
Since they were great for nail trims, I decided to bring my pups in for baths. Once again, they did a great job. One of my dogs was 11 months old, 80 lbs, and full of energy. They were great with him and took their time to make sure they did a good job while keeping him calm. Im a very protective dog owner and I’ve been very happy with this business.
Their prices are great too!

I have been taking my Maltese Eva Marie here for several weeks, and I was shocked to see all the nasty reviews posted.
The staff here has always been very nice, polite and professional. And very accommodating.
They ask, and LISTEN to me when how we want Eva groomed. When I pick her up, she is even more beautiful than when I left her.
So why all the negative reviews, and long rambling ones at that? I would wager that most, if not all of them, have not step foot inside this shop. Notice how the ugly reviews only have one «friend» and have only left ONE review?
Trolls is what I believe the terms is.
Perhaps someone in the same business with an axe to grind? Ex husband/​wife drama even? It happens all the time, and it is low class, low end, e-​ghetto tactics. Totally pathetic.
Not ONCE have the ladies that run this shop let us down. They have corrected the mistakes of others, and treat us like friends.

Rude staff, prices have gone up under new management. Unwilling to compromise on price. Quoted price by phone increased it by $ 45 once arrived. last visit ⁰⁸⁄₁₄ still wont go back

I took my 2 chihuahuas and weenie dog last Thursday to get a bath and their nails trimmed and they did a great job. My pups were happy and looked adorable. The staff was very sweet to my puppies and the price for 3 dogs was awesome. I’ve been twice so far and havent had any problems.

I’m sorry to have to say this, but I agree with the prior recent posts about the disappointing service.
I started taking my dogs here a few years ago because I live nearby, my dogs were happy when they visited and the employees seemed to like their jobs and treat the dogs well. I noticed a change over the past year, possibly due to the ownership change I’ve seen mentioned in the other posts.
A few months ago, my husband told me he went to pick up one of our dogs and was witness to a lengthy conversation between two employees on the proper way to greet customers, look them up in the computer and up-​sell additional services. All while he stood there in front of the counter. You’d think they’d do this when there isn’t a customer standing in front of them. While he was waiting for our dog to be brought out front, another customer came in and the trainee totally disregarded the very detailed process that was just explained to her. My husband made a comment to the «trainer» about the challenge of showing such a process to someone new and was told the «trainee» had been there for months and just couldn’t grasp it (by this time the ‘trainee’ had gone to the back). I thought it was an amusing story and didn’t think a whole lot of it. I figured this was just a small business trying to do their best to get their process down.
Then, 2 weeks ago, I called on a Friday afternoon from work (prior to 5pm) to see about making an appointment the next day for one dog to be bathed, dried, nails clipped. Their very lengthy voicemail message indicated it was outside of their normal business hours and stated their opening time, but not closing time, so I wasn’t exactly sure what their business hours were. I figured I’d mention it to them when I called back then next day so they could update their message.
So, the next day (Saturday), I called shortly after opening to see if they could take my dog same-​day. No haircut needed, so I thought they may have time to squeeze her in. When the lady answered the phone, I said «I know it’s short notice, but I was hoping you may have time to bathe my dog today». I’m a pretty clear, articulate and experienced speaker (required for my job), so I was a little surprised when she responded with «excuse me?» in a tone that suggested I had said something either offensive or confusing to her. I figured maybe she was distracted, so I repeated my question, word for word and a little slower. After a pause, she responded with a very casual «nah, I don’t think so»… it was like she had to think about it, weigh her options on what she was in the mood to do, and decided she just wasn’t up to it. I responded with ‘ok’ and was a little taken aback that she didn’t continue on with suggesting options, like making an appointment for next week, next weekend, something. Instead, there was just silence. I was about to ask about alternatives myself, but instead I said thanks, hung up and will not be calling them again since they obviously don’t have much interest in keeping my business. I never did let them know they should update their voicemail greeting.
I’m not a demanding or critical person. I am actually pretty laid back and understanding and I’ve never provided feedback such as this before. I felt compelled to write this review because of the consistently bad experiences it seems several of us have encountered (and we’re the only ones taking the time to write the review, so imagine how many others there are?). Perhaps it will all prompt a needed change for them.
I ended up calling the new PetSmart up the street at Bandera/​1604. They not only took my dog, but she was ready to be picked up within 2 hours of drop off (instead of being held in a cage all day at Miami Clips), looks great, got a ”progress report” on her behavior (which seems unnecessary to fill out, but cute effect nonetheless). The staff there really seemed to put effort into making her feel comfortable, so that will be my new go-​to for grooming.
Shame because I’d rather support a small business, but it’s up to them to make me want to give them my patronage… or not.

I’ve taken my dog Gus, a 2 year old lab mix here twice and both times they have done an excellent job. My best friend has also taken his lab there and they did great with him as well. I’ve read some bad reviews on the place but it’s all been from owners of tiny dogs who’s owners are probably anal and shouldn’t even own dogs. I am going to keep going back and have recommended my friends go as well.

I took my 9 month old Yorkie in for a shampoo and cut today, I requested a teddy bear hair cut around his face. I left him confident that the girls there could accommodate my request because I showed them pictures and they said it wouldn’t be a problem. A few hours later I received a call to let me know that he was ready, I was told that he was aggressive and that they were going to charge me an additional handling fee. When I went to pick him up the bill was a little over $ 70 (for my 3lb puppy), I payed the bill and then they brought out a dog that was unrecognizable. They cut his entire beard off which is what primarily makes up the teddy bear look. When I got home to further examine him I noticed a red scratch on the top of his head which would explain why he may have become aggressive. I called Miami Clips to ask them why they had cut all his beard off and their response was that he was trying to bite the scissors and clippers so they did the best they could. I don’t understand how they were able to cut the whole thing off if he was so uncooperative, in that case they should have left it alone. We will never spend a dime here again.

Poor phone etiquette from a rude receptionist was enough to cause me to not want to book an appointment

Interesting to see under two different names, the same place has horrible reviews. We quit going when the previous owner gave away my appointment because we were 10 minutes late. I was printing pictures of how I wanted our dogs done. When I mentioned that Alan had no problems with a minute or two late, I really struck a nerve. Needless to say even though they are the closest by far, we haven’t been back. As to Chrystal’s retort, that sounded like one really upset dog owner.

Update: so the original owner that I used to deal with has apparently moved out of the country to Vegas (?) within the last few weeks according to the new people running this place. I had scheduled an appointment last week and went to drop my dogs off today.
Now its always a little troubling to go into a business you’ve frequented for three years pretty regularly and not recognize a single person currently working there. I wasn’t greeted with a hello nor was anyone smiling at all. The new manager came out with one of those leashes that loops around the dogs neck, red flag number one. The previous folks never had to do that with my girl. She always walked the back willingly on her own leash.
I told them I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my dogs, her response «Lady we don’t hurt dogs here.» Nice one lady, way to make me feel confident. My dog has hip displaxia and the previous folks know that and were super gentle with her. These people didn’t do anything to alleviate my concern. Had they come out from behind the counter and interacted with my dogs, even given the remotest sign that they were engaged in what they do, I probably would have left my dogs.
People who deal with animals should at least act like they enjoy what they do. I will not be returning to Miami Clips. Very disappointing from a longtime customer!

I have taken my dogs there twice. The first time Miss Darcy was looking so cute. The second time I went and dropped them both off on a Saturday. When I arrived about 6 hrs later they were just barely finishing up Ollie. I had to wait. Their clips this time seemed rushed and not as cute. I had to keep sending them back with patches that had been missed. It was overall disappointing. However, I’m gonna try again during the week since I think they are not as busy.

Extremely poor service. Rude groomers. Could not perform even simple grooming. Avoid at all costs.

I had an appointment at 9am today. When I arrived they turned me away saying they were too busy and couldn’t take my puppy. All 3 staff members were up front just talking. My dog is 30 pounds, not like he would have taken long. This was my first and last visit there. They then tried to get me to reschedule for next week. Complete joke.

The first time I took my dog here I was impressed. She was clean, I loved how nicely they did her nails and the staff was very nice and so I returned. The second time I noticed the nail job wasn’t as good and my girly seemed a bit shaken up; I attributed that to a longer appointment since they said they were busier. So third time, again bad nail and anal gland job and my poor baby was inconsolable, she was ready to high tail it out of there. I asked the girl at the front if everything had been ok and she said yes, nothing out of the ordinary. I’m not sure what to think, I know my dog doesn’t particularly love the groomer’s but she is usually pretty happy coming home and this wasn’t the case with this particular place. After going here she would tremble horribly in the car and come home and sleep for hours. I don’t want to say that they did anything to her because I really don’t know for sure, but I did find my dog’s behavior odd; we’ve never had this problem before. On top of that, I noticed their attention to detail slacking; bad job with anal glands, nail trim and file and one time she had a small cut on one of her paws.

My dog was badly mistreated. She had several bruises (I took photos). When I complained, the owner called and left a very nasty and rude comment on my voicemail and threatened to call Animal Care Services and accused me of neglecting and abusing my dog. Terrible place. If you love your pet DO NOT take them here!

I have a cute little dog with shaggy hair. He needed a hair cut and someone recommended Miami Clips to me. Two things really bothered me about this place. First, our appointment was scheduled for 1pm and I got a phone call at 5:45 asking for specific instructions on how they’d like my dog’s hair cut. What is the point of making an appointment if they aren’t going to get to your dog for another 4 hours? Second, the guy was hell bent on shaving my dog. My dog had a couple of knots in his hair that we later easily got out with scissors but the guy kept saying «He needs a summer cut» which meant shaving my dog down completely. No thanks. I will not be using this place again and do not recommend it to anyone. The one plus I can think of is that they gave my dog a spurs bandana. go spurs go.
