Gold’s Gym

I came in to get a 3 day pass to see how I will like the gym and instead one of the sales people took up 45 minutes of my time trying to get me to sign up for gym membership. He was so determined for me to sign up right there and then. Needless to say I did not get my 3 day pass since I was pressured by the salesmen and a personal trainer to sign up. I left the gym empty handed and will not be returning. If I want to be annoyed and pressured by a salesmen, I would have gone to a dealership instead.

The gym is nice, the customer service is terrible.
If you can get past the terrible check in when you get a new membership then your good to go.
Front desk person needs customer service training… Tell her I signed up for a membership online and she points to a general area and tells me to sign up… On the computer? On the pad that says guest? Doesn’t take the time to be specific of course, then I have to ask what’s next, then she says go sit over on the couches, which are things she should have said from the start when a new member comes to join, it shouldn’t be this difficult to finish up joining a gym and getting started after you signed up and paid online for a membership.
The sales people walk past and don’t speak, acknowledge, or tell you they will be with you … It’s like sitting in limbo wondering if someone knows your there.
Remove the people and this gym gets 5 stars, take into account the people and it drops to 2 stars… Literally makes me want to go to LA Fitness.

Love my gym! Took me a long time to actually get comfortable coming here, as I would try to go after I got off work and it is PACKED. and not only are there always alot of people in this gym, it seems like everyone that goes to this gym is yolked. I was very intimidated. But I have been going religiously for a few months now and everyone is very respectful and polite. The equipment is fantastic compared to other Gold’s I’ve been to! Its always very clean, don’t have many issues with people not re-​racking weights. Very clean.
So my only cons are it is very busy at night, therefore I am forced to get up at 4am and go before work. and there are very few benches to use free weights. and parking can suck sometimes!
but I love this gym!

This gym is hot as balls. I usually come here when I’m in town visiting family and every time I’ve been, its been hot and humid. TVs are usually turned off and the free weight section is extremely limited due to volume of customers. Other than that, the machines are decent and it’s in a pretty good location.

They are ok the closest to me BUT… it really doesn’t matter what time I come in here I have to wait FOREVER for an open machine. I have now resorted to just asking people if I can work in with them cause otherwise I wouldn’t be able to get a good workout. Another thing that drives me CRAZY is that they never have enough employees at the kids club so I have had to wait up to 45 min for another employee to get there before they can take my kids in.
They are also missing a lot of the leg machines I was used to using

Great staff. Excellent gym. Though the men’s locker showers are 9 times out of 10 unbearably cold. Small issue, would be 5 stars if not for that.

The staff is very friendly but the gym is often busy. Also not sure about the mens but the womens locker rooms and bathrooms are often dirty or out of paper towels/​toilet paper. I know they are making an effort, I see the cleaning staff more often. I so very much enjoy the cardio cinema and the classes. Thus would be 5 stars if locker room was better but I hate going in the morning because I shower there and prefer to shower at home. Not much to do about the business, that is all time of day.

Love working out here. Staff is excellent. Equipment clean and well maintained. Classes are AWSOME! Locker rooms are roomy and always clean. Love the sauna after a hard workout. Newer facility on my side of town. Keep up the great work.

This is probably the best Golds Gym I have ever been to! A ton of equipment, a lot of space, and a pool outside. its super clean, and really good place to work out!

Sign up … Workout … it’s not that hard. The only thing you might have to deal with is the traffic in the area, and the parking. It’s a great location off 151 and protranco. It has all kinds of equipment, an outside pool, a sauna and plenty of lockers. There are workout classes, and even movie cinema classes. So what are you waiting for … Just try it out for 7 days and if you like it become a member.

Brand new gym – all the equipment is brand new and the selection of workout machines is awesome. Also a big fan of the cardio cinema and the pool. The pool and basketball court are outside, which is nice on cool days this time of year. Smoothies at the front desk are also delicious.

I’m glad there is finally a golds gym on this side of town.
A few issues i have so far. Parking is bad and it’s annoying driving around waiting for a spot to open up. The basketball court/​pool is outside. we live in Texas it’s to hot to have outdoor courts and what is the pool going to be doing in the winter… i don’t understand that logic. I also expected more equipment, it gets pretty crowded at times hopefully that changes once the culebra location opens. The staff is ok from what i seen. It stays decently clean. People still have issue re racking weights, but thats not the gyms fault. If you want a better experience the babcock and bandera locations are better simply because of in door courts and more equipment.

This is the first time I have actually had a membership to a gym and LOVED it! This place is only .4 miles from my house so I could literally walk there if it wasn’t for this blazing, Texas heat. The staff there is really friendly and is very willing to help out with anything you need. There is a very small pool there though, that I found disappointing because I was expecting a lap pool where I could train for a triathlon. It’s not even a 25m pool, which would just add to my lap count if I did train in it.
The perks? The locker room is huge! They have a dark room that place a movie on a huge screen where you can do cardio and watch it as you burn those calories. They have a bunch of personal trainers there in red shirts that are more than willing to show you how to do exercises and are very nice too. Samara and Darwin are definitely the best ones there. Very personable, respectful, and all smiles.
There is a kids corner if you come and bring your kid; HOWEVER, as my friend learned the other day there can be a long wait to put your kid in there. Bring an ID because you will need it to pick them up. There are plenty of weights in the gym, free and machines.
The only other con other than the pool for me is… parking. It’s terrible! It’s like they need a bigger lot or it is just super busy with all the new gym rats… probably will die down in a week or two. Overall it’s a great place to workout! I definitely recommend it.
