Firestone Complete Auto Care

On 12/​29/​2015, I took my car to a random auto shop for the State Vehicle Inspection. The inspector stated that my car did not pass the inspection because my front brakes were «metal on metal.» He also stated that he could have the brakes replaced and fixed for $ 99.
This raised red flags for me for many reasons. First, my front brakes were just replaced about 4 to 5 months ago — there’s no way they’d already be metal on metal. Second, I’ve driven my car when the brakes were metal on metal — I know what it feels like, and I know what it feels like when they’re nearly metal to metal. My car was not exhibiting any of these signs. Because of this, I told him my husband wanted to check out my brake pads first. I then had to pay him the $ 7.00 inspection fee.
So, today, 12/​30/​2015, I took my car to Firestone for a second opinion. This inspector, Nathan Mallick, said my front brakes were fine, and that the rotors would need to replaced eventually, but they were still perfectly acceptable and worked well — and that there was no reason my car should have failed inspection. And, little did I know, Firestone also does State Inspections! So I asked them to re-​do the inspection (there was no way I was going back to get swindled at the other place), and my car passed. Of course, I’ve had enough positive experiences with Firestone that, had he told me the other guy was correct, I would have taken his word for it. I’m very satisfied with Firestone’s services!

It was that time of year again. Needed to get my State Inspection for my auto registration. I got there a little after nine o’clock and was out in about an hour. I thought that was good time and was pleased with the service I received. I went to this location last year and I will return again next August. Keep up the good work Firestone.

Outstanding customer service. Entire staff is very nice and will explain everything to you until you understand what you need. They are very fast but still get it right on first try. This is my go to shop. Great staff, great work, a definite thumbs up.

Went in to get a state inspection. Took 45 minutes… not that big of a deal, except when they input my vehicle’s VIN in the system they input it incorrectly. Skip forward to the next day. I went to the DMV to renew my registration and the attendant tells me the inspection form had the VIN incorrectly loaded. He said I would have to return to Firestone to have it corrected. So, I drive back across town to Firestone and informed the lady at the counter of the error. She simply takes my form and hands it to a technician who fixed it ten minutes later. Easy, simple fix.
This whole situation was frustrating when the you drive back and forth for such a small error. I completely understand people make mistakes. My problem here is that you would think I would have at least gotten an apology. So much for customer service at this Firestone! Guess who won’t be recommending future customers here.

We’re from SA but being military, we are stationed different places. We leave one of our vehicles here in SA so that when we come home, we have something to get around in. Being that we haven’t driven the car in a while, I decided to have the wheels aligned and oil changed. I made an appointment and brought it in. The gentleman who checked me in was prior military and very friendly. We don’t like to use synthetic oil and Firestone only offers a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ blend. We decided to go ahead and do it as it needed to be done and my husband wasn’t with me to just do it ourselves. (I can do it, but didn’t have the tools I needed) I received a call after about an hour and a half and was told the car was ready. I would have given 5 stars but when I went to pick up the car, the girl who helped me check out was not as friendly and could have been; I also didn’t get an itemized invoice, just the printout of the alignment adjustments. I opted to have my receipt printed and emailed, so I did get the itemization through email. Other than that, I think the service was good and I was satisfied.

I didn’t get to have my tire replaced by them. I called ahead to make an appointment but the gentleman on the phone told me I wouldn’t need one, he said It was in unnecessary. So I arrive later that day and I was told by the person on the front desk to schedule an appointment because they were all booked. Plus I stood about 5 minutes in line without a person at the front desk. I was stuck hearing how mad the other customers were about firestones service. Extremely unsatisfied.

Did not keep me informed. I had to call and get the status twice. Bad customer service. Not to mention when I dropped my vehicle the worker seemed like I was troubling him dropping my car off.

I drove all around my side of town looking for a place my vehicle safety inspection. After one place told me they didn’t have any window stickers due to missing their delivery the previous day, three shops not having the right person on duty to do the inspection, 1 place closed when they were supposed to be open, and 2 other places that were so busy it would take 1.5 hours to get my car in, I finally pulled into Firestone.
I told the guy that I needed to get this done quick because of my schedule. He said they were quite busy, and it appeard to be true, but that he’d see what he could do. He disappeared into the bays and came back 2 minutes later telling me they’ll hook me up.
Less than 15 minutes later, and down just $ 14.50, I was pulling out of the place. While I can’t vouch for any other services they perform, I’d gladly go back to Firestone when my other vehicle’s inspection is due.

Used to go to the Firestone on Lackland AFB (decent work but only the manager seemed to know anything, other employees wasted our time with unnecessary work fortunately we got a refund) but we moved and this one on Culebra is closer. Happy with the store: easy to make an appointment, employees are upfront about car issues and cost, waiting area is clean (tv provided), free WiFi, located near shopping however you’d have to cross a very busy 4 lane street… Could be a decent time-​killer. Recently took my car in for state inspections however they usually don’t start until 8am (an hr after opening). I was going to wait but they took my car back and were able to complete it. Really nice of them, I told them I had called the night before and asked about inspections and the employee didn’t mention the starting time so I figured it was when the store opened (this is why you ask for names, to prove you spoke to someone!). Overall, happy with this location — been here a handful of times between 2 cars.

Hubby found a nail in his tire this evening and needed to get it repaired quickly. Since Discount Tire closed at 6pm he had to try somewhere else.
They took very good care of hubby’s tire and charged a reasonable price. We have been here for other things, such as a battery recently for my stepson’s car, and the service has been very good.
