History

Established in 1999.

FinerWorks Media, LLC a digital print on demand service based in San Antonio, Texas was started in late 1999 previously under the name of Omni Visions, as a digital multimedia company and printing service for artwork and photography. By 2001 it had developed strong ties to a growing online art and photography community by offering digital printing on canvas.

While many professionals were not new to the concept of printing on canvas, an emerging group of digital photography enthusiasts and self taught computer graphics artists began to seek out the specialized canvas printing services offered by FinerWorks. In 2004 the company changed its name to FinerWorks Media and the website FinerWorks.com and was setup so anyone, and not just professionals could have prints made of their art or photographs on demand and online. By 2008 FinerWorks started to expanded its printing service to include other types of media such as fine art, and other specialty papers.

Meet the Business Owner

James T.

Business Owner

James «Theo» Theopistos, the founder of FinerWorks Media, LLC. started in the digital inkjet printing industry in the 1990s when as a digital artist and photo hobbyist, he wanted to find ways to output his work in a unique fashion. This eventually led him to experimenting with printing directly to canvas.

Even though printing on canvas had been around for some time, specifically for the giclee industry, the resources and knowledge for people to do it themselves were limited. Once he was able to find the supplies and equipment he needed, other artists and photographers began to approach him to request their work also be printed on canvas. Eventually it resulted in the development of FinerWorks.com.

Currently James divides his time between various technology related ventures and assisting as needed with FinerWorks.com
