Elite Karate

My family used this Karate studio for a year. My 5 year old son at time attended classes every day and was picked up by elite karate’s van after school everyday. On June 3^rd they picked him up and other students from his elementary school. It was 104 degrees that day. When I arrived to pick him up after work at 5:30 pm, the owner/​instructer told me my son was left in the van!!! He said «it’s okay was only a few minutes» and never took him to the hospital or called me. He kept saying «it’s not a big deal“When I called police and cps and the karate school (Mrs. Mary) told story they said it was over 15 minutes he was in the van! The karate school didn’t know he was missing because he fell asleep in the last row, back seat. The only reason they discovered him was he woke up and unlocked van and crossed parking lot into school. Thank the lord. The owner asked my son if his mom dropped him off. They didn’t even keep track of my 5 year old baby!!! If he had not woke up he would have suffered heat stroke. They lied to me initially to cover themselves. They new he was in a hot locked vehicle over 15 minutes (who knows how long really) and they didn’t call 911 or doctor or his mother!!! They cared more about covering up story than getting him medical help!!!
We stopped using them but I demanded they give me my deposit or something back to find new school. They never refunded me anything. They never said sorry wrote letter of apology or did anything to show how awful what they did was!!! They only cared about swiping it under the rug!!! I hope someone does something to stop them. They are unsafe and poorly run to say the least! Do no use them. Do not let your friends and family use them!!! They hurt my son and were not licensed by cps so cps could not do anything. The cps case worker was so upset she couldn’t do more to them. But it is on file with Sapd.

My 14 year old son earned his black belt from Master Hsu last year. It was a wonderful experience for him. He learned focus, self-​control, and respect. My wife was so impressed with the program, she started taking classes as well.

I was looking for a karate class that would cater to my 3.5 year old kiddo. If you’re like me, you know that there isn’t many that will accept a child so young. Elite Karate has an awesome array of classes ranging from 3 years old to adult. Prices can be expensive, but on a weekly basis it is worth it. I live in Medical Center and this location is in Stone Oak, so it’s a bit of a drive but I don’t mind doing it once a week because the classes are awesome and keep my son engaged. He’s only been doing karate lessons for over a month and I’ve seen a great improvement from the beginning to now. He has a lot more confidence and you can’t put a price on that. 100% worth it and I totally recommend!

I could not have found a better karate school for my son. He has been with Elite Karate for at least 4 years now and at age 13 has earned his Black Belt. Master HSU is the best there is, always taking time to greet everyone and say hello. The instructors are phenomenal. My son has learned somuch and through this school has developed a love for martial arts. He also participates in the After School Program and the Summer Camps. There is no where else he would rather be. When I pick him up, he doesn’t want to leave. I highly recommend Elite Karate for ALL of the programs offered.

Master Hsu is one of a kind. We are so blessed to have crossed paths with him. I would recommend this school to everyone.

Elite Karate is San Antonio’s première Taekwondo school. The owner, Master Raymond Hsu, is world renowned as an international Taekwondo referee and was voted the #1 Ref in the US last year. He has a thriving school, from ages 3 to adult. The schedule and tuition are both great and the instructors are top notch. My daughter and husband earned their black belts there a few years ago, and now my 12 year old son and I are catching up to them! This school is the real deal. The instructors are wonderful with little kids, caring and warm with kids, motivational for teens and also lead a large, fun adult class. Try it!
