History

Established in 1958.

Founded in 1958 by Henry P. Van de Putte, Sr., Dixie Flag & Banner Company is one of the most respected and trusted flag companies in the country. Dixie manufactured the flags for Hemisfair 1968, decorated the streets of San Antonio for this landmark event, and in 1969 moved its headquarters to Hemisfair Plaza. In 1974, Dixie Flag moved to the 1900 block of Pan Am Expressway and in 1995 a three-​story building was built to house the sales and manufacturing all under one roof.

I have always supported this company, but now they will not make or sell the confederate flag. I understand this company has a choice and I respect their opinion.
Regretfully, I will take my business elsewhere. Heritage not hate.

Unfortunately my Texas flag (cloth) that was flown over the capitol building started to get holes and tears. I tried to replace it with nylon, but it just wasn’t the same. Also, I don’t really want my flag to be made in China. Dixie flags are made in America, and they have a new material called «Tough Tex» that holds up waaayyyy better than nylon and is a much heavier weight. You will spend a little more at Dixie, but it supports American jobs and a local business. Not to mention much better quality.

Flags of all shapes and sizes! I went in to get my Spurs flag and my U.S. Flag for Memorial Day. All made in the U.S.A. Friendly helpful staff. Easy access from IH35.

I fly several flags and like doing business with Dixie. They are family owned and operated small manufacturers of flags. Friendly staff and a cool showroom.

I love watching this place. My house is less then ¼ mile from me, so everyday I walk the dogs I get to see the giant flag. Right now they are flying the Rodeo flag. I really need to get a good flag from them for my place, but with my budget right now, I can’t. but, hopefully, all my nickels and dimes will add up quickly so I can go get a great flag from a great company.
