Had a wonderful experience. Becky did a phenomenal job. Totally worth every penny and more.

I love coming into Diesel. At previous barbershops or haircut places I hated going for numerous reasons. But Diesel provides a great experience. My preferred stylist or barbers are Jenni or Lynda. Enjoy a beer, ESPN or old arcade games while you wait. Better than reading a 1997 subscription of hair styles!

I was promptly greeted by Adrian, a barber from their Dominion (IH10) location, who proceeded to tell me I was in good hands and didn’t even need to look at the «Menu» which outlines services and pricing. Sure enough, he was absolutely correct.
Adrian walked me through what I wanted, offering a few recommendations of which I obliged, and then he worked his magic. I received a fade around my sides (which was impressive to say the least), followed by a short trim on top, and lastly a razor enhanced part.
After the first round, he made sure that I liked what I saw and then proceeded to test out some hair product before leading me to the area where they shampoo, shave your face, necklines, and etch in your part with a straight razor (all painless and smooth).
After that, I received a massaging hair wash, an application of aftershave, a shoulder/​upper back massage, and a hair styling.
This was my first visit, and I WILL be returning as a regular customer. I told Adrian that he would be earning my trust as it was my first visit, and he went above and beyond in making the experience as positive as possible, while delivering an excellent service, we had good conversation and had a few brief moments of «quality checks» to ensure my satisfaction. I took some small risks with my style, but I think I can safely say, the BEST HAIRCUT I’ve ever gotten!

Wanted so bad to love this place, but when you ask for a razor fade and you get an electric Norelco beard razor to the back of your head, you leave disappointed. They market this place as a barber shop, don’t barbers use a straight razor?! After the cut, I get a wash, and to add insult to injury, I get a BIC safety razor to the back of my head. The search for a solid barber that still takes pride in their work continues.

Upping the score 2 stars after multiple repeat visits and actually having a barber this most recent time. I also greatly appreciated the owner reaching out. Although we never linked up — the pro-​activity of his message led me to give the place another shot. I still think they should establish what menu items you want before each service — just have an all the way option and let it fly. Trying to relax and then being asked if you want this or that is disrupting. So far they have earned my loyalty and I continue to hope the consistency keeps up! D.

Very cool. Good cut and shave and massage. Definitely not a salon. Ann took care of me. Get there early on Saturday cause they start getting busy by 10.
Just relocated from Virginia and had the same barber for 5 years. I am pretty picky when it comes to trimming my mustache and beard.
Happy to say I found my Texas barber.

Best place ever! Stellar staff, atmosphere and service! Becky is the bee’s knees, cut and beard trim is always on point. I will never get a haircut anywhere else as long as I live here! People complaining are crazy! You get what you pay for and this place is top notch!

Its hard to find the right barbershop that can cut all types of hair. My hair is very thick and straight and these guys managed to cut it perfectly. Old school video games and free beer. Doesn’t get any better than this

Regina come back!!! Last few cuts have not been so great. Uneven on the sides, random long patches. There are two girls there that still do an awesome job, one is Yvette, I don’t remember the other ones name. I am so used to getting a good cut I didn’t even think to check until I got home. For the price, I expected more consistency with all of the stylists. I could go to Sports Clips if I wanted a horrible and expensive haircut.

Been coming here for almost a year now. Very consistent haircuts. I especially enjoy their shampoo and neck shave, relaxing. I really like the atmosphere. Who doesn’t enjoy playing old school arcade games and drinking a beer?

I have finally found a barbershop on Northside SA that does a great job everytime. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to look sharp.

Our second time taking my son to get a haircut at the Wilderness location. Our stylist Yvette Garcia Bagley did another amazing cut. I love it. Most of all my 7 year old think it’s the coolest haircut ever. Thank you Yvette.

I take my two boys ages 3 & 10 here. Definitely hit and miss depending on stylist– there are some really good ones. Very pricey for kids cuts though– just paid $ 25 for my 10 yr old plus an extra $ 5 for the fade for a total of $ 30 plus tip!!! Way pricier than the generic place down the street that charges less than $ 10. I know diesel isn’t geared towards kids cuts but I need somewhere convenient that can do a fade… so I continue to pay the price.

Had a great experience at the Diesel off of huebner. This Diesel was completly different. I tried it out on several occasions and each time I was equally dissapointed. Rude service, amature haircuts, high prices, unprofessional staff… the only upside is I got a free beer.

Complimentary beverage (including local beers) a neat surprise, although I didn’t partake. Double the price of my previous barbershop in NY, but the staff does a… decent job.
Definitely get the wash for the additional $ 1. After all, you’ve already spent $ 25…

Do not come here if you are looking for a Barber all of the employees were cosmetologists. they call them selfs a «barbershop». I was very disappointed how short she cut my hair. I will not be coming back here again.

I recently moved to San Antonio and in dire need of a fresh cut. I spotted DBS while driving hole one day so chose to give it a shot this morning.
I walked in without an appointment when I met Jenny, one of the barbers. Jenny quickly added me to the system, asked if I would like a drink (everything from water to beer is available) and after taking a few minutes to prepare her station I was seated and she was cuttin’.
I have to say the ambience combined with great employees and conversation makes for a great business. DBS doesn’t disappoint! I walked out within 20 minutes of walking in the door with a great cut. I’ll most definitely return.

its expensive 26 $ for cut and shampoo got out with the look I was not definitely expected or the one I get from my usual barber which is half the price. Will nkt be going again although people are nice

Great atmosphere and love the shampoo; that’s my favorite part.
I would give it five except for kids hair I think it’s a tad on the high side, but for an adult it’s right on. I’ve had three different ladies cut my hair and by far my favorite was Merceades.
Stop by have a cold drink and chill out to Thompson Twins or Depeche Mode as you get your hair cut.

I really should say I’m a fan of the girl who cuts my hair, Yvette, who I’ve followed all over San Antonio for six years. In a word, she’s a badass. Very friendly and knows what she’s doing. Her latest stop, Diesel Barbershop on Wilderness Oak in far north San Antonio, is lucky to have her.
The shop is cool, directed at a male clientele, and conveniently located if your live north of 1604 and Blanco Road. Check it out.
