This place has CRAZYHUGE tacos. When it says«Large Taco» on the menu, they weren’t kidding. I ordered the chicken fajita taco and that taco itself was pretty good. A little difficult to eat due to how large it was, there were many times I had to use a fork. Nevertheless, the quality of taco and tortilla was pretty good. My friend recommended that I try the lemonade, and man, he was right. The lemonade was sooo good, I really don’t know how to describe it. It’s more sweet than sour but that’s what makes it excellent. The waitresses and the staff were attentive and so sweet. Overall, it was a good first experience at an authentic restaurant in San Antonio.

Service is slow. Many people here but no one is eating. Table was sticky. Waiter is running and can not keep up. All of the drink cups are empty. When you think u want to stop and eat. Keep gong. Many better taco houses in San Antonio. Food is not all that great. Try Tink a Taco. It’s much better.

Stopped in to see if all the good things I heard were true. I wasn’t disappointed but I wasn’t head over heals either. Relaxed atmosphere overall but I got food to go some can’t speak of dining experience. Got a bacon and egg and a country sausage with egg. The bacon was a bit underwhelming. The potion was generous, but there wasn’t much bacon in it so the flavor wasn’t all there. The country and egg however was awesome!!! The sausage was flavorful and juicy. Luckily I ate it second so it made the meal great! Will definitely be stopping by again and hope that the bacon thing was a fluke. 4.5 stars to be exact.

I too noticed there were a lot of people there. But for the third time eating there, service was very slow again and there were flys everywhere. My beans were burned and the wait staff was very unorganized. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

All good things must come to an end. Since Danny has pretty much retired the tacos have lost their magic. Very sad to see that Carne Guisada recipe go. Without you the love and discipline isn’t there to make it work. Also the Caldo is always ready an hour before you close. I won’t be missing those shells in the potato & egg tacos.(They would always get upset when we would tell them like there wasn’t a problem.) RIP

This place is a sort of «hole in the wall» type of place. It’s rather non-de script and gives no outward appearance of its(humble) greatness. This food is by no means gourmet, but the totality of the ambiance and service is where the true value of this place lies. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good –especially considering you can get 2 pretty large, good tasting tacos(must be the same kind) for $ 2.49 — but it’s the speedy and genuinely friendly service of EVERYONE in this place that has me going back. My brother recently took me there one morning, and I’ve already been back twice in just as many weeks. I wish it was closer to my neighborhood, but it’s worth the travel to get this sense of neighborhood friendliness, and the comfort of food that tastes like grandma’s cooking, all at such a budget friendly cost.

Where do I start? This place is awful! I drive by here and always see people going in so I thought I would give it a try. You go into the building and you see an old rundown restaurant but okay I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. I look at their menu it looks a little weird not too sure if I want to eat there. I decide to order since it says fresh tortillas I order a few different tacos since I didn’t know how big they were going to be. They are $ 2 and some change per taco a little pricey but they have fresh tortillas and hey they may be worth it. I end up spending about 16 $ wow that’s pricey for tacos for one person but whatever. I drive to work sit down to have a taco and I find a hair in the first taco I am about to eat YUCK. Then I notice their tongue tacos still have the skin that is terrible. I look at the rest of the tacos. From the kitchen the guy said do you have the carne asada tacos as well. I said yes he said okay a few minutes I’m making the meet fresh. So I look at those tacos. It looks like they used old oil or burnt cook took YUCK! So with that said I tried the meat it wasn’t good at all! So there went my $ 16 straight to the garbage and I didn’t even eat one taco. WHAT A WAIST

Every person I have brough goes back later without me!

I love Danny’s. It’s my favorite hole-in-the-wall, neighborhood eatery. Danny and all the staff is friendly and the food is always very good. I eat here quite frequently and have never been disappointed. Lots of specials and homemade goodness. Only open until 2 pm, so get there early!

Wow! Homemade goodness! This place is a gem! The best chips and salsa I’ve had at a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant in a long time! The chips are dusted with some sort of sugar and spice. The salsa is obviously homemade, and quite delicious! I could just sit around and eat the chips and salsa for lunch! The main course was quite good! I wasn’t too fond of the sides. They really dropped the ball on those. The spanish rice seemed to be a bit old, and SUPER overpowering in flavor. The beans were decent, better than average, but not fabulous frijoles. They have all kinds of specials constantly going on– they salute all kinds of weird references. You can have the Spurs Platter(I’m sure this is what Manu eats before he goes on the court) they have ones that honor the Cowboys, the Rampage, etc. The place is relatively clean. The service is top-notch. They were friendly, and made sure that I was happy! My only real complaint about this place was the fact that I only got one flour tortilla with my meal. Usually you get two. Granted, it was fluffy, homemade, and HUGE, but I want two!!! I will certainly be back.
