The City of Olmos Park is a small, independent city within San Antonio. It’s a nice little town to do some shopping in, cruise down McCullough, or Hildebrand. There are lots of nice antique stores and restaurants along the main street of this town. It’s home to the Olmos Circle, which is an eyesore of a turnabout in the middle of McCullough and Olmos. It used to be a fountain, but that plan nearly turned deadly several times. The city has its own fire department, trash pickup, city government, and police department. The new city hall was paid for by speeding tickets. Beware driving down McCullough. The speed limit is 30, and they’ll bust you for doing a mile over it. In the side streets, speed limit is now 25! They’ll get you– so just watch out! It’s a beautiful neighborhood with sprawling mansions and giant lots, and makes a great neighborhood to go jogging in.
