I’ve lived down the street for years and don’t know why it’s taken me so long to try it out! Was not disappointed at all, has great mom and pop small town sandwich shop vibe, such a refreshing atmosphere in the middle of the sea of corporate chains surrounding it. I ordered the turkey avocado sandwich on bird man bread and I don’t know that I’ve ever had a better sandwich in my life. I asked them to add red onion for a little extra crunch, but it would have still been fine without it based on how crispy the bacon was. It was only $ 2.50 extra to make it a combo with a bag of chips, cookie, and drink. It would have been nice to have had a better chip selection, I had to choose between Fritos or Cheetos which was like a reverse Sophie’s choice decision, because both sounded terrible. Would have gladly paid extra for some sun chips, zapps, or even apple chips.

A++++ bread! Stopped in to hear what all the rave reviews were about, and they’re well-deserved. Bread had an excellent crust and great crumb. Also had a turkey sandwich and oatmeal chocolate chip cookie for lunch — both pretty tasty. Will be back for sure!

«Sorry, we’re out of kolaches.» YOUARE A BAKERY MAKESOMEMORE «We ran out at like 9am» IT’S ONE O CLOCKPMGETTOWORK When I finally got their kolaches, they’re not kolaches. They’re like these big weird muffins that sort of taste like kolaches. Also they have stupid hours. Sunday is the day I eat kolaches. This is known. Be closed Thursday or something. Not Sunday AND Monday.

Great bakery. The kolaches aren’t as good at this location as compared to the other one tho. Both locations are closed on Sunday and Monday which is stupid. I always want it on Sunday.

I came over because I was waiting for my car to be detailed — I was not disappointed! The cashier made an excellent sandwich recommendation — #7 turkey avocado on bird man bread. It was so fresh! Sandwiches can purchased in half or whole. There are also several brewed coffees available — snickaroo was great! I will be back!

I had the turkey sandwich and it was delicious their bread is so fluffy and wonderful and the smell/ambience of the place is on point. The owner came and talked to us and she was so nice! I definitely will be recommending and bringing my friends and family members!

Sour cream pecan muffins! YUM! Don’t be off put by the sour cream part– it’s added to make the muffin more moist and fluffy! This is my all time favorite item aside from the usual banana chocolate chip muffin and lemon poppy seed muffin. All the muffins are cheap and huge! I used to save up my change(sorry Broadway employees) walk here everyday during my lunch break in high school to treat myself to a little dessert to complete my lunch. The jalapeño cheese bread offered only on Fridays is also divine– the bread is always soft and chewy and there is just the right ratio of jalapenos and cheese in a way that doesn’t overpower the loaf. Thanks Broadway for the fond memories and your delicious baked goods!

They have the best white bread ever! Their scones are are my favorite… oh and their lemon ricotta cookies and their muffins both blueberry and sour cream walnut are delicious. I only just wish they would add little more brown sugar to their chocolate chip cookies if they add any at all. Friendly staff too.

On this somewhat chilly(for San antonio that is) December morning, I have just sat down at home with a hot cup of coffee to eat a slice of toasted pumpkin walnut tea bread slathered with a little bit of butter from Broadway daily bread on de zavala road. It really hits the spot. At $ 6.25 some may consider it a little expensive but it’s dense and delicious with just the right amount of spice and nuts. It’s definitely sweet. Other treats here include the lemon bars and pecan squares which are unbeatable and hard to avoid for those of us watching our figures. A slice of bread and butter, always available with bits of cookie, muffin, brownie, etc… on the sample tray at the bakery itself with a cup of coffee is a common way for me to start my day. The breads are first rate but no whole grain options yet. Spelt bread is available certain days as well as challah, in time for Friday night and the weekend. Everything here is made with quality in mind and warmth from the heart.

Great little spot my girlfriend took me to when I was visiting her and her family in San Antonio a few months ago. First off, they’re the real deal. They bake everything daily, so everything there is fresh. Their breads are really top notch quality. The interior is definitely not impressive and is quite small. It looks like they have lawn furniture as their seating accommodation, but that’s alright. It’s a small, local business, and their food makes up for it. We came to grab some deli sandwiches once, and while they’re not as cheap as the Subway across the street, they are SO much better. The bread is simply marvelous, and you can choose which breads you want your sandwich made with. They give a generous portion of deli meat, which is also pretty top quality. I personally loved their turkey club. It’s absolutely delicious and doesn’t leave you feeling disgusting afterwards. Super fresh and healthy. Of course, being a bakery, they serve an assortments of breads, muffins, and cookies. They put out fresh samples of random things for you to try, so that’s really nice. Personally, I love their banana nut muffin. Their cranberry orange cookie is also really good too! It is a local business, so they do need some downtime. Doors are closed on Sunday and Monday, but they do it right the other 5 days of the week!

I feel it’s a very at home and welcoming place! Their sandwiches are the best and, in my opinion, has the number 1 cinnamon rolls! Definitely recommend :).

I want to preface this review by stating that I am a small business owner myself, so I ALWAYS pull for the little guy and while I’ve tried to find reasons to fall in love with this place I just can’t. It’s not the food quality. I’ve tried muffins, cookies and all sorts of bars from this place and everything is good. It’s really the selection. Every time I come they’ve only got a handful of items that they are selling and I’ve tried coming on different days and at different times, figuring maybe it was just a business thing where they make so much on the weekdays and more on the weekends and no — same scenario. I guess I’m spoiled by places like La Popular Bakery where the display cases are just oozing out with goodies and you could literally spend an hour deciding what you want. Compare that to here and they had two muffins, two cupcakes, 2 bars, 2 cookies and bread. The people are super friendly but I feel like the company is setting them up for failure by not having a good selection of product for them to sell.

I stop in every other morning during school months. They have awesome bread, the cinnamon rolls are the best in my opinion. They are not too loaded with sugar like Cinnabon and they are not too dry. Coffee is extremely good for you coffee lovers. I don’t see a place to sit and study but that’s ok I take it to go. They also have sugarfree muffins and I believe it’s Tuesday only… Not certain on the day. Try one they’re not bad.

OK, so I’m pizza crazy. I’ve just recently moved to San Antonio, so have been trying lots of different pizza places. Generally I prefer really thin crust pizza as that is what I grew up on, but any pizza is good. Shakey’s is my favorite, but sadly instead of a ten mile drive, I believe the closes one is about 900 miles away. I must confess, the pizza(only served Friday and Saturday nights) here is one of the best I’ve tasted. Not sure what it is, just the ingredients much be extra fresh or something, because it just tasted really really good. The«large pizza» isn’t really that large, and kind of spendy($ 16 for what I’d actually call«medium» at most other pizza places). That is the only reason I nicked them a star. The flavor of their pepperoni pizza is simply outstanding. Sadly, I believe they no longer serve pizza on the weekends. Wah.

I’m a sucker for any mom-and-pop type bakery so when I came across this gem, I had to pop in. And I’m so glad I did. From the outside it doesn’t seem too promising, but, trust me, it is. Walking inside, to the left is a seating area if you wish to dine in. To the right is the display of freshly baked deliciousness in the form of cupcakes, cookies, mini cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, muffins, scones, and BREADS. Straight behind is the bakers’ playground where all those aforementioned deliciousnesses were crafted and where many more are to follow. It’s a very eclectic, organic vibe that I enjoyed and look forward to going back to. They promise that all their goods are high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils free! Their whole wheat breads are all made with freshly, in-store milled wheat. Come on! Their menu varies from day to day and they are open on weekends also offering an array of breakfast treats. I got a loaf of cheddar jalapeño sourdough bread and I’m unashamed to say half the load was eaten just out of the bag as is on my way home — it’s that good. A gorgeous warm blend of soft bread with pockets of real cheddar cheese and a subtle jalepeno fire following the taste of each bite. I will happily drive the distance back to Daily Bread just for this loaf. There were various other types of bread as well — spelt, bird man, oatmeal, etc. But do yourself a favor and try the jalapeño loaf. Do it. Trust me. I also got a brownie and a mini red velvet cupcake for hubby and a chocolate one for myself. Everything was delish. The service was great. Just all around a great find. Next time I go back, I’ll give their sandwiches or kolaches a try and dine in, watching the bakers as work.

I drive across town for this place, the TBA(Turkey Bacon Avocado) is amazing, like it’s too good! It is a small little place to eat so if it is crowded you may not find a place but it is worth the attempt. They also have a wooden plate where they let you sample pretty much anything, an added benefit and a great sale for them

This little«hole in the wall» sandwich shop is, by far, one of the best in San Antonio. While their lunch menu is limited(about 6 sandwiches and 3 salads to choose from) all of the bread and salad dressings are made from scratch and reflect that in their unique, delicious flavor. The bakery is also tasty although we’ve had a dry cupcake or 2. I’d stick with the cupcakes, scones, and cookies — we’ve tried almost all varieties and haven’t found one we dislike. We also occasionally buy our bread from here(when we can get over that way) — our favorite is the birdman! If you’re looking for something different and unique, this is the place. Much better than Earl of Sandwich, Jason’s Deli, and the other nearby sandwich shops it competes with.
