Yes the Enchilada is pretty good — very good actually. The service however is poor and not smart. The refried beans are absolute sh*t.

I really like the food here and I, like many San Antonians, have been coming here for years. The food is always really good and the kitchen gets food out FAST and I mean FAST! However on this particular Saturday morning our waitress was just outright rude and miserable, I didn’t even enjoy my breakfast because of how bad her attitude was. I usually come here once every two to three months but I don’t think I will be coming back for quite some time. There are way too many other places in town with better food and much better service. The search for the best breakfast tacos in town continues. Don’t get me wrong, their food is good but aint no taco good enough to get it served along side a big ol helping of crappy attitude. Aint nobody got time for that!

Ahhhh Mexican comfort food, consistently good. The ambiance is definetely west side San Antonio… relax and be who you are. I love the country and egg tacos along with a hot cup of java. Stay simple Blanco Café, it works for you.

The food here is pretty alright but nothing to get jazzed about. I would avoid the chorizo– it’s weird and chewy. Not the best Mexican food in the area. Also they’ve received a pretty terrible rating from the health department.

Best beef enchiladas ever. Other stuff may be good, but I’m unlikely to ever find out. I can’t imagine ordering anything else. The flour tortillas served on the side were outstanding too — excellent for sipping up the beef gravy from the enchiladas.

What can I say about Blanco Café! Very casual with a friendly staff, delicious homemade tortillas, generous portions, and SO INEXPENSIVE! There isn’t a hostess or anyone up front to seat you — you just walk in and grab a table as they open up, so it’s not a great spot for large groups but for the price and quality, it can’t be beat!

I absolutely love the service, food, and atmosphere of Blanco Café. Not to mention the neighborhood is so rich in San Antonio history and culture. Augie Meyers and Doug Sam grew up in that block. I recommend this to any tourist looking for REAL San Anto comida and hospitality. Every local should try it if you haven’t already.

Don’t settle for tourist-​like Mexican food, come here for a tasteful experience of Mexico in your mouth. The chicken enchilada verses (on corn tortilla) was the waitresses’ highest recommendation… and she couldn’t have been more right.

I always order the Deluxe Mexican Dinner, oh man. it’s some good stuff! It consist of a chalupa, crispy taco, and three enchiladas (I usually order beef) served with rice and beans. It comes with a little bit of everything and you can’t get any better than that for the price.
The enchiladas are the best, it’s worth the drive to this side of town. Hole in the wall places have the best Mexican food. Been coming here since I was a kid, good memories there.
I definitely recommend.

4 STARS overall, but .5 freaking stars for the «fajitas»!
Been coming here since I was a kid. Love the enchiladas, tacos, beans, rice, tortillas and sweet tea. However… today I got the idea to try their beef and chicken fajitas and that was a HUGE mistake!!! My fajitas did NOT come served sizzling and smoking on a skillet fresh off the grill. They came on standard dinner plate. no smoke, no sizzle. The meat had no charred or grill marks and it was low grade, high fat disgusting crap. They were absolutely the worst fajitas and worst quality meat I EVER had in my life. Step up your game Blanco or take fajitas off your menu! Here’s a simple rule to run your business by… if Taco Cabana can make it better than you then take it off your menu. In this case TC’s fajitas are champagne and Blanco’s are a Colt 45 in a paper bag.

So full disclosure, my family and I are neighborhood folks, so this is my turf. We walked here for dinner some nights .
First things first, get past the décor and the noise level. This isn’t a chain, local owned, local noise, beans and tortillas .
This place is magic with a breakfast taco, bean and cheese with bacon? Flash bang yes. Papa con huevo. Yes please. Don’t get confused try a plate of crispy beef tacos. It is a triumph of simple tex mex.
Are you a fan of plate cleaning joy ?
Order a cheese enchilada plate, put on some salsa verde and clean that effin plate with your tortillas and thank me later .
Bonus: the kitchen never sees the ticket, it gets shouted through a window and comes out hot and correct. Eat it celeb-​chefs .
Hot tip Bonus: is it cold outside? Get the Caldo de Res and get right.

I really like this place. It is in our neighborhood and we try to go as often as we can. Yummy Tex-​Mex. I enjoy the daily specials, one of which is two cheese enchiladas with beef or chicken fajitas, rice, beans and tortillas of your choice. Can’t go wrong with the flour tortillas. They are the kind that stay soft even after they cool. Yeah, baby!
The husband most always gets the beef enchilada plate. Equally good. Their tea is pretty good, too. Cash or plastic. Friendly service.

This place is always packed — with good reason. Don’t let the full tables & casual environment scare you away. The service is quick & friendly. The food is amazing … The kind of food that fills your tummy and makes you so happy that even though you’re busting at the seams, you still want to keep eating and consider licking the plate!

As good as it gets. This hole in the wall is the best and FASTEST mexican food ever. The cheese enchiladas are the best in the city, in my opinion. Puffy tacos are EXCELLENT. And like I said, the service is super super quick. Very cheap and great food. Homemade corn and flour tortillas, homemade rice and beans, homemade everything! Don’t miss the specials board above the counter for stuff that isn’t listed on the menu.
And now I’m craving enchiladas.

Quite possibly the best puffy tacos I’ve ever had! The beef puffy was bomb and didn’t give me a nasty taco seasoning burp afterwards and the chicken puffy was PERFECTION, lightly seasoned and tender! However, if you don’t like greasy food then stray away from these or just blot to your heart’s content.
Jesse waited on us and ran the place like a BOSS! I was very happy that we not only got great food but persistent service by someone who enjoys what they do,
Street parking only.
