History

Established in 1972.

Belden’s Automotive & Tires Prides itself on being family-​owned and operated. Ronnie Belden is the original owner and president since 1972. Mr. Belden is born and raised in San Antonio, where he has always had a passion for the automotive repair industry.

2005 his son Rusty Belden came on board as the Manager of Operations. Rusty Belden is now the Vice President of Belden’s Automotive & Tires. He thoroughly enjoys working for the business and with his Dad. Graduated from Baylor University in 2004 with a business degree in Management.

They claimed it would take 9 hours to take the transmission apart to validate the issue with the warranty company. I ended up spending 100 dollars with them just to keep it for a few days and waste my time. When I called the manager, he spoke in circles and lacked sympathy. They need to be upfront when working with their customers and tell them what they are unwilling to do. I expected a lot more from a company who I recall having a superb reputation.

I left my vehicle (10 yr. old dodge caravan) with them to see how much it would cost to fix my leaky radiator. Many hours later I get a call from them saying the radiator would need to be totally replaced at a cost of over $ 950.00! So I told them no, I would pick it up. (other places charge HALF that!). Then they wanted to charge me $ 100.00 for diagnosing the leak! On top of THAT… they didn’t put any fluids back in the van before I picked it up. Good thing I checked it before leaving their lot or my vehicle might be in even worse shape. I found them to be WAY overpriced and arrogant.

I first came here because of the convenience in location, it’s on my way to work. I also saw they have Ladies Day where they offer 10% off, unfortunately It wasn’t the day I came! The staff was very knowledgable & friendly.
As a new resident of Texas I had plenty of questions regarding registration, inspection & licensing. They gave me all the answers I’d had trouble hunting down on the internet.
I waited a bit longer than at those drive thru oil change places but was offered coffee & watched the Price Is Right for the first time since I was a little girl :)
I’ll be back & I was happy to find out they also have a shuttle service. A+

the good… staff was friiendly and they were able to get my truck looked rather quickly.
the bad… got a call an hour later with a diagnistic of the problem. i am used to dealing with mechanics who’s job is to upsell but these guys took the cake. a small leak turned into a list of «must do» work that totaled over $ 1600. which included new brakes for $ 900. that’s just plain robbery. i will do my own brakes as usual thank you very much.
the ugly… after telling them that all i wanted fixed was the problem i took it in and agreed to the quote they provided, i received a call a couoke hours later and was told thst the mechaninc has miscalculated the work needed and i had to pay for additional 2 hours of labor adding $ 90 to my bill.
never again. i dont mind paying for people to do something i can’t do but i hate getting nickel and dimed.
unless it’s an emergency or you have money to burn, i would not recommend taking your vehicle there.

The employees are super nice. BUT THEN THEY CHARGED ME $ 46.50 TO REMOVE AND REPLACE MY BATTERY!!! Besides the fee for the battery…
