I went to Al’s shop for my repairs, Al checked out my SUV to see what was needed.
we agreed on the prices and the time to do the repairs Al came through with great repairs and the prices was really good. I will use him again when I need repairs.

I have tried to use his service for a vehicle I was having trouble with. I called 2 days in a row left a message im on the third day and i have given up due to not even a courtesy call stating out of town, too busy or whatever the case may be.

Very respectful and honest person. Gets the work done and very hard working. If he finds a problem that is just out of his reach he will take time to make a few phone calls and will not quit until you are satisfied with his service. Highly Recommended.

Just moved to San Antonio a few months ago for work. My cars belt broke on me leaving me stranded. I searched Mobil mechanic and this was the first thing that came up. I called and promptly received a text message after leaving a voice mail. He suggested looking into towing through my insurance before paying out of pocket, which i did and saved some money on. Once my vehicle was at his location my car was fixed a couple of hours later for a very decent price. He was also very patient by staying a little later when I picked it up after work. Did i mention this was a Sunday?!? Very reliable and strongly recommend his services.

I wonder if I am EVER going to be able to get a good review on a mobile mechanic. I am a dedicated Unilocaler so I looked her FIRST when I needed a mobile mechanic. I contacted «AL» thru his website left a message saying «I am a UnilocalER and I saw your great reviews on Unilocal so please call me back» and he called back on 8÷19÷13 within a few moments.
I explained what I needed and he stated he needed «69.95″ diagnostic fee „in cash — up front!“. Well that seems fair (I mean someone could just have him come out and do the diagnostic and fix it themselves — -) but when I asked if that fee could be applied to the repair — he said „Sure as long as the repair bill is over $ 200.00!“ (That seems fair too, right — — I mean if it’s under $ 200.00 and he finds the problem for 70 bucks — that’s cool!)
He asked that I text him my address and the times needed and I did that on ⁸⁄₁₉ and asked for ⁸⁄₂₀ from 3P — 6P on ⁸⁄₂₀. He agreed. Yippeeeee. He will come or so I trust. TRUST… TRUST…TRuuuussstt… (echo echo echo)
You can imagine what happened? NOTHING!
At 5:17pm on ⁸⁄₂₀ I get a text that states „I am running very much behind schedule — — today isn’t looking as good as of now… I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused“. Now I don’t trust him — — he knew he was busy and said NOTHING until much later in the appointment. I would have understood if he had called me BEFORE the appointment but he didn’t call, text or anything until the time had almost passed — — and here I am sitting like an idiot and taking time off work based on HIS WORD.
When I call him out on it (using words like Customer Service, trust, and „your word“. His response: I reiterate — I apologize — — if that’s not good enough — so be it!».
So the MOBILE MECHANICS in San Antonio continue to keep us IMMOBILE.
Total waste of time and a bad attitude on top of breaking his word. NOT recommended. He knows I am posting a review — — let’s see what he says to make it right… tick tock tick tock tick tock.
This is in direct response to Al’s response above. I appreciate that Al apologized, and in all honesty I gave him the permission and opportunity to fix this AGAIN on ⁸⁄₂₁. I gave him all day to respond to the location and made accomodations for him to have the keys. He stated he need authorization (Even though he was sent two texts as such which would stand up anywhere). He still refused to come so he failed once — asked for a chance to do it again, was given that chance and now stands on his procedures — — when he broke them yesterday. I still cannot advocate for this mechanic or his ethics. Fool me once — shame on you. Fool me twice — shame on me. (I also don’t think that he should be giving himself 5 stars on his comments — — this negates the rating given… but I don’t want to get into ethics here again).
Well folks — here’s the FINAL update. He asked for forgiveness, and I gave it to him and told him where to be and when — — he didn’t show. Nothing else to do but let the review stay as stands. I asked him to provide his business address and no more from him. Not a legitimate business since he won’t identify where a formal complaint can be sent… and did you notice his address isn’t listed on
either? Ethically — He logs in as someone and then gives himself five stars rather than an average rating to skew the results, doesn’t show for scheduled appointments, and then makes excuses on his «2^nd Chance». Don’t waste any more time — I’m not.

Al and his brother are amazing. We’ve had multiple problems with our older vehicles and Al’s fixed both of them now. He also took the time to teach us how to repair something ourselves that would have cost big money. Mind you this was at 10pm at night!!! He didn’t have to do that. He’s an honest guy working his tail off to make an honest living. I wish he had a shop! The mobile unit is nice though when your vehicle doesn’t start. Saves you a tow fee right off the bat! Highly recommend him.

I had a leak in the radiator resevoir in my bmw. I called Al, left a message, and he called me back directly. One of his technicians, Daniel, was at my place within 2 hours. He was friendly and professional, and diagnosed the problem within a few minutes. He even drove me to the dealership to get the part. After we got back, it took him less than half an hour to get the car up and running again. I highly recommend this service. You can’t beat this guy.

Al’s got me out of a jam. Got in my car in the morning to leave for work but my battery was dead. I didn’t have anyone close by to help me out. Al made it to my place in a little over an hour, just in time for me to get to an important meeting. They are very friendly and reasonable for the service provided.

We have used Al’s before & he was quick to come out to our home and fix our vehicle in less than 30 minutes. He is fast, friendly & does great work. Rates are reasonable. Will definitely call Al again if we have car problems.

Al is GREAT, super nice, super honest, super affordable, super whatever else you can think of to be super in as a mechanic. Plus, HE COMES TO YOUR HOUSE. But, not in a creepy way.

Was visiting San Antonio for business and all of a sudden my car wouldn’t start. Googled for a shop nearby, and Al’s Mobile Mechanic is at the top of the search with a 5 star rating and 34 reviews. Having considered the rating and reviews, and having never used a mobile mechanic, I thought it might be worth a try. Being a female stranded out of town, I could at least trust these guys, right?
So I call Al’s and he says no problem, he’s on his way! I ask if he could at least diagnose the car, he says no problem! Al shows up right away, quickly diagnoses the car as being the relay switch, which he says it common for the make/​model, and the only place to get this particular switch is the Acura dealership. Dealership??? So Al makes a run allllll the wayyyy to the dealership, returns, and fixes the car in 5 minutes tops, no problem!!! No towing fees, no leaving the car at the shop, no drama, none of that! Just right back on the road and total peace of mind!
Al’s quick response, customer service, professionalism and wayyy more than reasonable price felt more like a rescue from an old friend than a call to a mobile mechanic.

I was in San Antonio overnight for work and on my way from my hotel to a dinner meeting my car had a blow out on 410. I was stuck in a small median between traffic on 410 and the traffic merging onto the highway. I wasn’t sure how I was going to get my car off of the highway and out of the heavy traffic. Being from Austin and not knowing anyone in San Antonio, I called 311 to see if someone could come help me but before anyone could answer this white van appeared out of no where in front of me and a very nice gentleman jumped out, introduced himself as Al, and asked me if I was ok and told me he could fix my tire for me for a small fee. I happily agreed and didn’t even have to get out of my car as he and his assistant jacked up my car and put on my spare in a matter of minutes. Al’s service and kindness was unbelievable and I was so very thankful they passed me on the way from another service call. I would recommend them to anyone and will be keeping their card handy anytime I am in San Antonio! Thanks so much Al!
