History

Established in 2000.

Dr. Gary D. Norsworthy earned his DVM degree in 1972 from Texas A&M University and has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 40 years. Dr. Norsworthy began writing professionally in 1975 and has published over 50 articles in various veterinary journals. He is an accomplished lecturer for veterinary associations. He has spoken over 400 times from Alaska and Canada to Brazil to Australia.

Dr. Norsworthy is the editor and major author of six feline textbooks that are used by students and veterinary practitioners around the world. They have been translated into Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Italian, and Korean. He is the medical editor for Cat Fancy Magazine.

Because of his contributions to veterinary medicine Dr. Norsworthy was chosen as the 1992 Companion Animal Practitioner of the Year by the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and 1997 Outstanding Alumnus of the College of Veterinary Medicine of Texas A&M University. He received the 1998 Clinical Consultation and Referral Award from the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice and the 1998 Diplomate Achievement Award from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP). Most recently, he was selected 2009 Practitioner of the Year in the Medical Specialists Category by the Texas VMA. He is a Charter Diplomate of the Feline Practice Category of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.
