ABRAZO, which was first licensed in 1994, specializes in full-​disclosure open adoptions. ABRAZO’s expectant and/​or placing parents have the opportunity to choose their child’s future parents, get to know them personally prior to placement, and then keep in touch with their child’s adoptive family across the years that follow.

ABRAZO’s adopting parents all have documented infertility and are thus unable to conceive, meaning that open adoption is for them a miracle without which they could never know the joys of parenting. They raise their child/​ren they adopt to love and respect the birthfamily as they do, so ABRAZO adoptees grow up always knowing who they are, where they’re from, and how they came to be so special to both their birthfamilies and their adoptive families.

ABRAZO is a Texas adoption agency that was first licensed by the State of Texas in 1994, in response to a regional need for ethical open adoption services, and the adoption agency has been state-​licensed and nationally-​acclaimed ever since.

ABRAZO is a private, nonprofit open adoption agency that places infants, toddlers and sibling groups born to Texas birthparents with adopting couples nationwide. The adoption agency provides expectant mothers and placing parents with needed maternity support, medical referrals, housing, transportation and counseling before and after placement, in accordance with Texas laws.

ABRAZO holds an annual family reunion called Camp Abrazo in Bandera, Texas, and sponsors regional adoptive parents’ groups and gatherings across the United States, in Memphis, Washington, DC., in Atlanta, in the Wisconsin Dells, in St. Louis, in Chicago and in Dallas and Houston.
