Specialties
As a garden coach, my services are unique. After the initial garden
assessment that will be done on the first visit, a gardening plan is set up and
garden «dates» are arranged between the client and coach for hands on
garden training. These «dates» are usually scheduled weekly or bi-weekly
depending on the season in order to keep up with the changes in the garden.
The overall span of time working in the garden together will depend on the
client’s needs and garden comfort level.
During our «dates» you will be given the opportunity to learn how to grow
bountiful organic food and medicine gardens, apply organic pest/disease
management practices, learning some of the more important soil nutrition
and water conservation techniques, plant identification, organic fertilization,
proper plant placement and habits, pruning skills and other basic landscape
maintenance routines.
My services are welcome to all levels of garden experience. No property is
too big or too small.
History
Established in 2004.
My History
With a degree in Horticulture from Oregon State University, I have spent
most of my life planting gardens, tending to gardens and eating out of
gardens. I became a small scale ecological landscaper over 10 years ago. Focusing on the installation of edible/medicinal gardens or what I call functional as opposed to ornamental.
It wasn’t until a few years ago that I realized that I was creating a small
unique niche out of my gardening business by working along side many of my
clients and during these garden «dates» a subtle yet beautiful relationship
was being formed between them and their garden. Within time, many of
these gardens have become bountiful and beautiful micro farms, feeding and
healing the families that chose to invest their time to learn what it takes to
become an earth steward and self sufficient/sustainable property owner. It was in 2004 that I decided to take my business to the next level and become a gardening coach full time.
